lorddoonga
Looking at the layout after the first drop, banked curves in "s" style... possible. It's always someone that has a complaint or sues the owners that will call for their attachment.. bummer : (
restoca
If there is no reason for Voyage to have headrests, then why would BB need them? Â Well, "reason" and "need" are quite subjective terms in the hands of ride operators.
lorddoonga
Voyage is nothing compared to Toro "outta control-ness" and still they don't have headrests.
Real
Yea...An Intamin woodie is definatly very, very controlled. The forces are crazy, but its definatly controlled. Â BB = Confirmation of TGG's greatness.
DATman
^And what was the Voyage? I mean, you would think one of the top 5 wooden coasters in the world would confirm a company's greatness...
Real
But it was only their second (not techincally, but Hades was such a newer design from CCI) ride and similar to Hades. BB shows their ability to design diverse rides and while I agree, Voyage speaks volumes, this just adds to the fact that they are premiere designers. Â That and the Ravine Flyer 2 project...wow. raptor6
So when is this ride finally going to open?
thrillerman1
Rapto6...A few weeks ago I inquired this same question of Alain Vleminckx and he said testing should begin by the end of the month (June). I would be a bit surprised if they make it, but then miracles do happen. I wouldn't count on it opening before July 4th.
lorddoonga
With the recent intense low pressure systems / intense thunderstorms occuring daily now... it will push back opening day for sure.
coasterphotos
With the recent intense low pressure systems / intense thunderstorms occuring daily now... it will push back opening day for sure. Â Just because it is raining in one part of Houston doesn't mean it is raining everywhere. The Clear Lake area (including Kemah) has gotten very little rain from this system. There have been a few passing showers but nothing major. I seriously doubt there has been much affect on the construction for the past week from rain. fmulder21
True, Coasterphotos, I was in Pasadena, with a semi flat tire...I got to the gas station to put air in it and it was pouring. Once i got to kemah my clothes were soaked wet and it was bone dry out there. Testing at the end of the month?! Yeah right The TOP of the drop STILL HAS NO TRACK. This part was built 1-2 months ago. coasterphotos
Well, after rain and cloudy skies for Saturday and most of today, about an hour ago the clouds finally gave way to some blue sky and enough light for some decent photos. Construction of the final hill Entrance or exit ramp First drop structure being built
Shavethewhales
Wow, talk about your head choppers. In that first photo, the supports look dangerously close to the track, and this is just on the first drop. It looks wickedly steep as well, but they always do before the actual track is put on. dhh
Thanks for the continued photo updates. I here the opening will be a cause for some real fireworks.
lorddoonga
Toverland's Troy woodie is testing runs already : / Good for them.
coasterphotos
Boardwalk Bullet seems to be a lot more complicated to build with the way it is in such a small spot. It'll be ready when it's ready.
fmulder21
Yes, Everytime i go they have some other major thing left. "I'm like Oh, it'll take a week to finish, this section." but theres 200 million other things left. Just a lot of tweaking, i guess.
dhh
somewhere in the week surrounding July 4th.
Real
SPent last friday with Michael Graham of the Gravity Group at Holiday World and to put into perspective how SMALL of a land plot this ride fits into, it would fit into the land occupied by Voyages station and last turnaround. Â Which is insane.
mike robinson
somewhere in the week surrounding July 4th. Â I think that might be a little optimistic, thats about 2 weeks away and I would guess they have at least 4 weeks worth of work to do. My best guess is the third or fourth week of July. Â I know Kemah wanted it open for the 4th, but a lot of rain early this year slowed them down. Â Its getting closer and closer.....
thrillerman1
Yeah at this point I'm sweating it being open by the 1st week of August. I already had to push back my 4th of July Texas trip once.
lorddoonga
It 's a discredit to BB owners to not let GG give updates of the construction process on their webpage. This wasn't done with Hades and Voyage.
coasterphotos
Kemah has every right to ask GG and M&V to keep information quiet...it is their ride. Why they don't want more details about it out...I don't know...but that is their decision. Â Also, what more updates do you want? I've been taking photos weekly since November when the coaster was just stacks of wood!
lorddoonga
Removing tarps from the trains for a peek would be nice.
hyyyper
Removing tarps from the trains for a peek would be nice. Â prolly just PTC's, the only thing to look out for is the color, the logo is already on the site and IMO they'll use it on the front of the trains also. And why take the tarp off? it's more practical to just let it be and remove it once they put the trains on the actual track
