steel Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 As much as I hate that this is happening, and as much as I loved Camp Snoopy, and even though I grew up with this park, I do expect this renovation to turn out in a very positive way. Although the sacrifice of the Paul Bunyan theme on PBLC and the name "Orange Streak" make me want to rip my eyeballs out and feed them to a racoon, I think I'll survive.
coaster05 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 The more I read about this new theme, the more I know this is going to turn out awful for those of us who liked what the park was. I am not saying it will be bad for business, but this is just way to commercial.
Coasterlvr_nc Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Yeah, I agree with most people posting, I think it looked great with the woods feeling, I had never actually seen it in person but I liked the way it looked.
socalMAN123 Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Well, I think right now it looks weird with the como of two different things. But, once the full transformation is complete, I think it will look rather good. You never know though... ---Brent
TheRapidsNerd Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 My soul weeps at this decision to forgo a visit to cheese nirvana... dt, that quote is now part of my email sig at work. Most funny! Ditto on the new theming. I always did go for the nature, woodsy look at parks verses crazy bright structures. Gonna be a wierd mix of neon, camp, and sea themeing once SpongeBob SquareCoaster goes in. Somebody else had a good point too. Don't loose the cool kite-eating tree/swing. It's a good theme.
holyblakbelt Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 Good TR .I hope they don't lose the home plate and the random red chair. They were part of the stadium that used to be in the place of the Mall. MOA has a good lineup of new rides for the park. However, my expectations are high because of the fact that it is a Nickelodeon theme park.
Airtime&Gravity Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 I haven't been to the park since 96/97, and it is sad to see what is being done to it. While the Nick theme will be good for business, the forest theme was really cool and well done. Hopefully they find a way to keep some of the forest theme because many of the flats tied in so well. Who knows though, the new owners seem to be adding a lot of theming, so while the forest theme might have been a lot better, the Nick theme could end up being cool as well.
