SwedishMan Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Some short information for those who may want to visit the park after looking at the report. Where is Liseberg located? In the central part of Göteborg, Sweden. Is the park expensive to visit? Well, for children under 7 years, for them the admission is free. For all others admission cost 60 SEK (2007) Wristbands cost 280 SEK, but you can also extend your ride pass into a 2-day ride pass. A single wristband costs 280 SEK for one day and if you extend the ride pass it will cost 90 SEK in addition. What will be new for 2008? As shown in last report Evert Taubes Värld will be the new attraction for next year. Another new garden will also be new for 2008. No new rides for 2008? It´s not known yet, my guess is that we will see a new thrill ride for the 2009 season. What is known about the future of Liseberg? There is a plan for expansion but during the autumn things hopefully will become clear and of course you will be informed. As most of the visitors here surely doesn´t know much about the history, i will also tell which rides that has been placed at which spaces earlier at Liseberg. The following pictures is taken at 29 April 2007 (Liseberg opened for the season and Uppswinget was new) and 4 August 2007. Lisebergbanan and Uppswinget by night. Construction pics. This is no new ride or roller coaster, but not a museum either. It´s something between a new ride and roller coaster. In the this building from 2008 the Liseberg visitors will really get the chance to experience Evert Taubes World, from his years as a kid at Vinga by his forays in exotic countries to the songs dramatic adventures. The visitors will be shown paintings, letters and other things made by Evert Taube. Modern technology, artister will be some parts that will be used to show Evert Taubes life. Together with Evert Taubes World we are building a new restaurant (Café Taube) and a new music stage, Taubescenen. Lisebergbanan with Uppswinget in the background. The interesting story behind this ride is that Vekoma paid it because HangOver (Invertigo) couldn´t be used during the 1996 season so Uppskjutet is a compensation to Liseberg so the Invertigo-failure became a S&S tower. First Super 8 (Schwarzkopf Wildcat) operated here between 1966 and 1979. LisebergsLoopen (Schwarzkopf Looping Star) operated at the same space between 1980 and 1995 and the HangOver (Vekoma Invertigo) was placed here between 1997 and 2002. Cirkusexpressen. Cirkusexpressen. Cirkusexpressen arrived at Liseberg for the 1977 season. It was named Lilla Bergbanan before the area where the coaster is located was rethemed into a circus theme. Let´s start with the new coaster for the 2003 season Balder. Balder was built for the 80th anniversary and it got the name Balder because it´s placed in the area named "Balders Hage". It filled the lack of a wooden coaster as the old Bergbanan was demolished after the 1987 season after 65 successful years.
