Myself
Today it`s time (at least in Sweden),I want an update now! Aren't we impatient! I don't know exactly what time it was when you posted that, but it was still the 14th here in the USA. Give him time; I'm sure he'll have it here soon. coasterdude5
Coaster101 Productions presents Rock n' Soul Memphis created by John Stevenson  Update Year 1 Construction  Hello Memphis! I'm here to fill you in on all the stuff that's going down here at this new themepark we've got under construction.  The Bluff City will never be the same.  Today I got a test tour of Pedal to the Metal, and indoor launched coaster.  I heard they're gonna remove some of the lighting so it looks less "colorful".  It looks like most of the ride is in the dark.  Maybe they'll add some music. Wouldn't want to offend Hard Rock Park, though. They're opening up the same time Rock n' Soul Memphis is.  The finale of Pedal to the Metal is an overbanked turn back into the station.  One last moment of airtime...  ...and it's back into the station.  Here's the exterior of the ride. It's not bad, but it's short and it's not too good either...  Hopefully Hustle & Flow and Pippin will save the park. More soon.
asr
First Comment! Â Anyway, looks great. Does Pedal to the Metal have any inversions? When can we expect the next update? I can't wait to see Hustle & Flow!
thefitness
Looks awesome! Â When I saw the inside of Pedal to the Medal I thought of Disco H2O at Wet in Wild. Which isn't exactly a bad thing! Â What is the construction on the side of the building? Is it the queue? Â Anyways it really looks great. I can't wait to see this park grow. It has better feel of realism then Hershey's Hawaiian Escape.
coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  Finally, some Hustle & Flow construction.  It's gonna be the most pimped-out coaster in the universe.  The dive loop is short, so maybe it'll be intense.  I came back a few weeks later and testing had already begun.  Yeah, this dive loop is gonna be insane.  I personally like dive loops more than immelmans.  After the dive loop, the coaster soars through an overbanked turn, and into a vertical loop.  This is gonna be a cool ride.  The station is supposedly gonna be unique and cool.  The only part of the ride I'm concerned about is the turn into the brake-run. It takes it pretty quickly. More soon.

coasterdude5
but I was tired of everyone saying that it "Looked great" over and over, just because of coasterdude's prior work. Would the comments on how it looked been the same if a newbie to the forums had made the park? Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but what's that? Onto the update: Update Year 1 Construction  Yes, the park has released a new logo, which reflects the partnering Rock n' Soul Museum that has been in Memphis for decades.  I took another night tour today.  Alright!! It's confirmed, Rendezvous is opening a new location at the park!  What's Rendezvous? You haven't had real barbecue until you've eaten at the Rendezvous. http://www.hogsfly.com  Hustle & Flow signage is now up  The station looks great, very unique if you ask me.  As you probably guessed, they said the lights have not been installed yet.  I don't get the arches, but it still looks great.  The massive stage has also been constructed. The park is planning a massive concert series that will take place on two stages.  I also had the chance to check out the newest area they're working on: River Delta Fair.  As you can imagine, there are lots of bright lights.  Pedal to the Metal hasn't changed since the last time, haha.  Tons of buildings continue to rise. More soon.

coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  Tonight I got to check out the inside of the Rendezvous restaurant at the Beale Street Landing area of the park (the entrance plaza.)  The real restaurant is in an alleyway, but this one is cool too.  I believe they're going to have reservations, so if you'll be going to the park, call ahead the day before.  The inside, while unfinished, is looking pretty good.  Looks like they've got a ways to go in here.  One last look...  Looking up Hustle&Flow's enclosed lift hill.  More soon. coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  I went to the park today during the day and alot is going on.  I was told that the entrance plaza will be named Beale Street Landing, as a connection to the new project going down on the riverbank downtown.  I'm still concerned about this small entrance, I hope it can accomodate the large crowds they're anticipating.  The Beale Street area is great. It really makes you feel like you're there.  In the River Delta Fair area, they are constructing the River Delta Arena, which will be home to different agricultural-related shows. I'm told the River Delta Fair will resemble the old fairs that were held in the agricultural districts. [some of you might know this as the Mid South Fair, but MSF were the brains behind the closure of Libertyland, so because they were responsible of literally destroying Memphis' history, they do not deserve to be honored through this park.]  Looks like it's going to be covered, that's a must during the scorchering Memphis summers.  I heard they're about to begin landscaping Hustle & Flow any day now.  Tomorrow I get to be one of the first riders to ride Zippin Pippin in its new location! More soon.
asr
This park is getting better and better. I agree with you about the cramped entrance though, even more so with the big building just inside the entrance. And I still don't see what is so "pimped out" about Hustle & Flow. coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  Today I got to ride Zippin Pippin for the first time in a few years since its closure.  Just as I remember it...  I had one of my first dates on this coaster. [Really!]  You get a great view of the park from the top of the lift hill.  Ah, it's been too long...  The drop is great, especially in the back.  Getting ready for some airtime.  It's like a miniature El Toro.  It's good to have the ride back.  More soon. brandon
the coaster looks great, so it is a remake of a rorn down coaster in real life?
coasterdude5
^ Yes.  Update Year 1 Construction  I went back to the park today after two weeks of not going... Alot has changed.  Landscaping has really begun to take off.  River Delta Arena has been completed, and I was right, it is covered.  It'll be interesting to see what shows they produce.  Whoa, Hustle&Flow looks alot different with some landscaping.  Looks alot better if you ask me.  I'm thinking there's gonna be alot of airtime right there.  The park is really starting to come together.  More soon. coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  Today I got to go to the park and check out the transport ride the park will feature.  Replicas of the riverboats that flow up and down the Mississippi daily...  They will transport guests from one side of the park to the other.  The park is almost done with the concert area.  I haven't heard yet how many people it will be able to hold...  I was told that they had to fill Hustle & Flow's track with sand to reduce the distractions during concerts, but with the sound system they're putting in, I doubt that'll be a problem.  Hey if you're ever playing a gig here, you'll have a stellar view.  They can't seem to make up their minds. This now is going to be called "Mud Island", which is a real area in Memphis, on a sand bank, within spitting distance of the city.  I'm really pleased with the way the Hustle & Flow area has turned out.  I was invited to come to the park tomorrow and give Hustle & Flow a test spin.  I'm there. More soon.

coasterdude5
Update Year 1 Construction  Today is the big day. I get to ride Hustle & Flow for the first time.  As you enter the station, it's actually darker than I thought it would be, as the windows are slightly tinted. You pull down the large, but comfortable B&M over-the-shoulder restraint. The train dips out of the station into the enclosed lift hill. Of course, loud music and special effects will be added closer to opening.  Due to the rides blocking system, the train stops at the top of the lift (you're warned about this prior to loading), so you get a moment to brace yourself, and if you're close to the front, you get a great view. The lift starts back and you crest over the hill down the first drop. While it's not as big as others, it still packs a punch.  The dive loop is taken very quickly and is pretty intense, though it's as smooth as glass. The overbanked turn is alright, it dips down sorta oddly, but it doesn't take too much away from the ride. The loop is also intense, as well as the airtime hill and the zero-g roll. The ride slows a bit during the cobra roll, but not by much.  The rest of the ride consists of an upward helix, an airtime hill, a flat-spin, another airtime hill, and then a turn into the brake run. Overall, I give it 4/5 stars. It's an excellent attraction and very fitting for this park.  Down the first drop...  I'd have to say, this was my least-favorite part of the ride.  Vertical loopage right here!  The flat-spin (aka corkscrew) is a very intense element.  Speeding back towards the station.  Back towards the other side of the park, several minor modifications are being made to Zippin Pippin.  The park has added "Roundabout" to the River Delta Fair area.  Looks nice. More soon.
