robbalvey Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Hey everyone! Elissa and I will be in the Valleyfair area this coming weekend and we're planning on going to the park on Sunday. If you're interested in meeting up, please be in the front area by 9:30. This is just a "meet" not any kind of "event" so there is not ERT or anything like that. Just a chance to hang out with other TPR members. If you plan on meeting up, please respond to this thread *AND* email me at robbalvey@themeparkreview.com that way we can exchange cell phone numbers in case you show up late, etc. See you there! --Robb
PKI Jizzman Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Good to hear, Robb! Some shots of Renegade from you guys would be sweet! Wild Thing looks like a great Morgan hyper! -Zach 'My dad will be in the area, but I wont ' Boothe
pinkfloydfanatic Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I plan to be there but I hope Renegade is ready this weekend. I hope it will be a good ride! I think it will blow everything out of the water at VF.
pinkfloydfanatic Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Whoops I thought it was this Saturday but if Renegade isn't ready by Saturday be plans to open on Sunday than I will be there. I would call the park to make sure it is ready.
robbalvey Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 ^ We'll we're doing B-roll filming on it tomorrow so I certainly would hope it's ready!
steel Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Wild Thing looks like a great Morgan hyper! That's an optical illusion. It's really not. I wish I could be there, but I'll have to wait until Memorial Day to hit Renegade. Have a great time.
Sticky Nicky Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I know that I will be there on Sunday, but I dought by 9:30. I will try to be there by then anf if not, then I will probably see you around.
Coastercameron Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I should be able to be there! Looking forward to Renegade, and some TPR style fun

robbalvey Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 ^ Do you have to respond to EVERY thread on this forum? Seriously?
Vffreak07 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 You gotta be kidding. Can't you come Saturday?!? That's when I'm going. Darn, I guess I'll have to wait to meet the famous Robb til later in life. : [
Phyter Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I don't live far from VF and was planning to visit this weekend anyway, so this is perfect! You can count on seeing my mug there Sunday morning bright and early. Looking forward to meeting with you all.
robbalvey Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 You gotta be kidding. Can't you come Saturday?!? That's when I'm going. Darn, I guess I'll have to wait to meet the famous Robb til later in life. : [ Yeah, sorry, we'll be at Adventureland in Iowa on Saturday. --Robb
Thrillrider15 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Well Robb, I go when Renegade opens, which will probably be Saturday. If it doesn't open on Saturday, and opens Sunday, prepare to see me there. Hopefully.
Topdrag Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I will talk to my father and see if I can come Sunday but I have church so I probably wouldn't get there until around 1 or 2PM
carolinacaniac Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 It almost sounds like people care more about Renegade than you Robb I'd go, but Minnesota is too far away for me to go on short notice. Hope you all have fun though!
Carnage Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Wild Thing looks like a great Morgan hyper! That's an optical illusion. It's really not. Roller Coaster: Wild Thing Amusement Park: Valleyfair! (Shakopee, Minnesota 55379 USA) Classification: Roller Coaster Type: Steel - Sit Down Status: Operating since 5/11/1996 Builder: Morgan ? You totally missed his point. He was saying Wild Thing being a "great hyper" was not true. Not that it wasn't a Morgan.
snuggles Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Doesn't the 2nd hill have like 4 solid seconds of floater air?
Xme3 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 oooo, sounds like this would be something that I would be more than likley to go to. the famous Robb and Elissa less than 10 minutes from my house!!!
hemmy Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 Doesn't the 2nd hill have like 4 solid seconds of floater air? Sarcasm I assume??? But I agree it is a pretty average coaster.
Marko Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I will be there! Look forward to meeting you guys. We were out at VF today getting my son's season pass processed. Afterwards we wandered back through the picnic grounds and immediately saw Renegade testing with passengers in the front row, water dummies in the rest. They've got a lot of last minute work to do in the surrounding area but the Marketing Rep I spoke with said it *will* be open Saturday - can't wait!
valleyair Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I'll plan on being there, not in the morning but in the afternoon.
RollerC Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Doesn't the 2nd hill have like 4 solid seconds of floater air? Are you kidding me? WildThing looks like the one of the most tame hypers I have ever seen. Ever since I saw the POV on my Greatest Thrill Rides 2000 Edition, I always thought it looks boring with it's slow straight drops and long overbanks where the train looks like it has no force what so ever.
snuggles Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Well... Can you see the airtime happening? Its got to be at least .3 G's over the 2nd hill, thats all I was saying.
RollerC Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 How trimmed down is it? THanks god for Phantoms Revenge...probably the only coaster that isn't trimmed.
