alanjonesbath Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 Sorry if its already been posted before (I did a quick search, but couldn't spot anything). Anyway, the pic speaks for itself really, I just thought it was quite funny (and appropriate for this forum):
IceDragon Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 and the scary thing is... I'm tempted to do that! Ice *out shopping for a chess board* Dragon
thrillrideseeker Posted April 25, 2007 Posted April 25, 2007 LMAO! That was great! I would so do it! Like have you seen the pepsi commerical where the guy rides a roller coaster without spilling his full cup of pepsi LMAO! This reminded me of that! Thanks for posting! ~Matthew
chmilo24 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I did that once with a pillow. One Giant Dipper @ SCBB, I took a pillow and rested my head back to make it seem like I was sleeping. Chris " My pillow flew out from beneath my head on Giant Dipper and I got in trouble" Long
Angry_Gumball Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I "Drank" water on Roar last summer. The bottle top was on though because I didn't want water flying everywhere as it was hot that day and I was thirsty.

man Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 I did that once with a pillow. One Giant Dipper @ SCBB, I took a pillow and rested my head back to make it seem like I was sleeping. Chris " My pillow flew out from beneath my head on Giant Dipper and I got in trouble" Long Ummmmm, How did you get the pillow on Giant Dipper in the first place?! They let you bring it on?? probably just carried it on. As far as I know they dont really care. also couldve stuffed it in the back/front of his shirt and pull it out on the lifthill
the sound Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 That would be incredibly hilarious if someone were actually to do that!
alanjonesbath Posted April 26, 2007 Author Posted April 26, 2007 OK then, so who is gonna be the first to try it then? There must be someone on TPR who'll give it a go
ECZenith Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 Hehe, clever! I've been known to take funny on-ride pics but never with props!
IceDragon Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 OK then, so who is gonna be the first to try it then? There must be someone on TPR who'll give it a go I'm willing. Seriously.

As far as I know they don't really care. also could have stuffed it in the back/front of his shirt and pull it out on the lift hill Yea that is how I did it. I was wearing a backpack and stuffed the pillow in the back of my sweater. They asked why I have a lump on my back and I told them I had back problems. Then I took it out in that first tunnel. Except, when we came up to the first airtime hill, as I flew up on the hill, the pillow came out and went to the right and landed in the street. They only game me a warning only because the picture they took was funny(I didn't get to keep it though).
VegasCoaster Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 One of my friends and I held up a giant sign that said "This Ride Sucks" after an entire day of riding Speed: The Ride at the Sahara in Vegas. The ride ops thought it was funny, but the manager not so much. We were able to buy the onride pictures unlike some other parks.
ahecht Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Sorry to revive an old thread, but here is a page with a bunch of people actually doing this: http://xkcd.com/chesscoaster/
Disney Dood Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 ^ That's ok, but nobody looks too serious, that's what made it funny.
texashorns82492 Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I didn't understand it at first but now I get it
pagemaster_b Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 When my dad was in the Air Force, he had a small chess board that was made of metal and all the pieces had magnets on the bottoms. A great board to use during flights. And Kudos for the Marines who took this pic. Been there, done that.
texashorns82492 Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 ^ I saw an entire show of people riding, then eating, then riding until somebody puked. The remaining won season passes. It was on aways back though.
ahecht Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 ^that was actually only 1/4 of the show. Other challenges included passing a ball between two people on Superman, keeping a ball in a cup on X, and completing an obstacle course after riding Spinout.
Angry_Gumball Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 ^I remember that show...that was quite a few years back. They also (from what I recall) they also had to drop a ball or something onto a target from the skycoaster there.
timetrial3141592 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 If I could figure out a way of securing my stylus, I could play Meteos on a coaster. Now that would be a coup.
IceDragon Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Heh, now it's revived... Went to Thorpe Park and the Ops were having special contests between themselves. Things like 'who can ride Nemesis Inferno without losing water' and 'who can get the biggest Mexican Wave on Slammer' anyone else seen this happen? It looks like a hell of a lot of fun!
