Homer Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 ^No prob, DC. Thanks for another nice update of Blue Man Theater. Looks like Universal did a good job of redoing Nick Studios. Although, is the theater bigger in real life? It looks kinda small in the pictures you have taken.
jjeerr Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Is it free with admission, or do you have to pay extra?
Swimace Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 ^No you have to pay for tickets. It's part of CityWalk not either park. I really like the look of the lobby area, although it looks like the actual theater may have some ways to go
Thrasher Posted April 18, 2007 Author Posted April 18, 2007 The theatre does have a long ways to go. Currently the base for the stage and the seating area of the house are complete, plus the lobby. The set has been prefabricated off-site and is being transported in pieces to the theatre to be assembled. After that, lighting and sound will be installed. As far as the rest of the theatre, the walls will recieve asthetic treatment and the ceiling will be re-worked. This theatre is small, able to sit about 350-400 im guessing. It shocked me as well because I thought the building was much larger!
DarkMeasures Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 It's sad to see BMG get more and more corporate with each new venue. They really need to go back to the design of the Chicago venue as the theming there was perfect. There was no blue or pristine hallways. Instead it is crampt, full of tubes, and other weird stuff and it brings forth a feeling that something is going to happen.
mxman005 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Very nice. I probably wont ever get to see it in person. I cant afford it.
thefitness Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Awesome! Thanks for posting these.I'm really excited for BMG at CityWalk! Does anyone know if it is the same show every night? Or do they switch it up sometimes?
testtrack321 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 It's the same show every night, but many parts of the show depend on audience interaction/participation/mood, so the show will varry show to show. I've been to three myself and each one has been slightly different from the other. BUT, BMG does change the shows around every once in a while with new material, removing old, sometimes outdated commentary.
fleastcoaster Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Very nice. I probably wont ever get to see it in person. I cant afford it. Its actually priced quite reasonably compared to what you might pay to see a similar BMG show elsewhere. Its much cheaper than La Nouba at Disney.
jedimaster1227 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 The theater is definitely similar to the Astor Plaza Theater in New York...
Guest Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 ^Maybe I'm mistaken, but the Astor Theater is much smaller and has a lower and upper seats.
testtrack321 Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Astor is much smaller, this place is a medium size venue, meaning it's similar to Toronto (RIP), London (soon RIP), and Amsterdam.

It was funky, industrial, raw, etc., which matched the show very well. But I guess Central Florida audiences really won't be all that demanding as compared to Chicago, NY, London or Toronto.

What makes you say that? You don't even know what the theater will look like when finished.
verticalzero Posted April 19, 2007 Posted April 19, 2007 That Backstage area would be great for a WWE match..
