ParkTrips Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I don't expect any deals to come within the first year of operation of the park... Why not? They should be bringing people in... Personally I am excited about this park, now that I have seen some renderings and stuff. I think, if executed well, it could be pretty kickass!
BarryH Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 You can bet there will be deals on the new water park. I can see a ticket that includes BGA, Sea World, Aquatica, and possibly Adventure Island. I hope the Platnium Pass prices don't increase due to the new offering.
Erik Johnson Posted November 14, 2007 Posted November 14, 2007 The web site has gone live: http://aquaticabyseaworld.com/
Disney Dood Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 I was just zooming through the concept art...But...Did I Spot Derek? Woah!
dandaman Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 ^^ I think it's been like that for a while, Erik. (Still looks great, though! )
BrownStreak Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I hate to bump a topic that hasn't had anything recent on it but does anyone know when this park is supposed to open? the Sea World website and Aquatica's both say "March 2008." I am planning on possibly taking a non-Disney Spring Break Orlando trip in the 2nd full week of March. I plan on buying one of those Uni-IOA-Sea Flex Tickets- but once this park opens those prices go up $40 plus another $20 to add Busch Gardens.
Johnny Upsidedown Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 The latest information from Screamscape.com, Seeems they are having a few difficulties, have to wait and see as the next few months go by. Screamscape also has a few recent photos http://www.screamscape.com/html/seaworld_florida.htm showing the park is coming together nicely. 2008 - Aquatica - (1/11/08) While we still haven’t seen any proof about the wave pool problems we talked about earlier this week, we’ve heard about another potential problem that could also delay the waterpark’s grand opening. Apparently SeaWorld has been unable to get the filtration system for the Dolphin habitat working to their liking and has yet to add the animals to it. Apparently the timetable to get this done in time for the grand opening was Janurary 1st and as far as we’ve heard, this still has not happened. (1/10/08) I’ve been hearing some weird rumors about Aquatica lately involving the huge dual wavepool. The basic gist of the story claims that a major water pipe under the pools broke and has pretty much ruined the foundation under the pools. Bottom line, they may have to tear up the existing pools to fix the pipes, redo the foundation and build the pools all over again. With only a few months to go before the park is scheduled to open, this will be a major blow to the park as the wave pool was considered to be finished at this point. As you can see in the photos posted back in December, they already had it filled with water, the fake rockwork finished and landscaping already in place. If anyone gets a chance to visit the park, please take a ride up in the skytower and take a few new pictures of the wavepool. I’ve love to see if they’ve drained the pools or started construction work on this yet to confirm the story. If I had to guess, I don’t think this would cause them to delay the opening of Aquatica however. There should be enough other things to do in the park that they should still be able to open on time, though they may want to consider cutting back on the maximum number of guests they allow into the park until they can fix the wavepools as those are very high capacity attractions and would also likely cause the closure of the entire “beach area” around them as well.
UniversalGSHo22 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 My room mates and I went to the Aquatica job fair this morning to see what they had to offer. After waiting in line for almost 2 hours they told us that they were only interviewing for part time positions when we were looking for full time. It wasnt run very well and was a HUGE cluster **ck!! Turns out that they FORGOT to tell everyone that they were only doing part time on property and if you were looking for anything else you had to do it online. They were playing a powerpoint of Aquatica while you were waiting in line and filling in your application. They did say on there that the park would be opening on March 1, 2008 without fail. I dont know if anyone who is in the area has had time to head to Sea World and see the construction progress but it at least LOOKS amazing. We are goign to try to make it over to Sea World next week so I will try to get some pictures as best as I can since they still have the tarps on the fences around Aquatica.
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Anybody else notice that the Aquatica logo is eerily similar to Walmart's Equate brand font and logo? I keep wanting to call it Equate for that reason.
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 ^ LOL! You just coined a great one! Hence forth, I shall indeed call it "Equatica".
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Just Madonna, although that IS a good alternative.
UniversalGSHo22 Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 ^^ I was actually laughing about that the other day. We were talking about being a VIP Tour Guide and comming in hung over or still drunk and what you could really mess up saying at all the parks. EPCock was a good one..... The Magic KingDong was another one... Seaman World came up. Erotica Water Park as well..... The list goes on and on!! I am DAMN glad to see I am NOT the only one with a twisted mind!!!
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 oh no...there's nobody here like that...
BrownStreak Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 ^^Well you know in an alternate universe EPCOT stands for the Experimental Pornographic Community of Tomorrow. Think about it- you can add the word "sexual" to the name of all of the original pavilions.
TheRapidsNerd Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 ^ LOL! That's the second central florida/childhood innocense thing that's been tainted today. Good point, and I'm gonna be laughing continuously next visit to WDW. Ok, back on topic and kidding aside, Aquatica really does look like it'll be a good time. I really want to try a bowl slide and this place has 2 and it has a nice polynesian theme to it. Now, I've just gotta scround up some cash for that Shamu hoodie...
