Tanks4me05 Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Well, I am making a new park. I don't have a name for it yet, but I'm calling it Project Ramp because the entrance looked like a ramp when it was in the beginnings of construction. Now all I have finished is the entrance, but I have spent several weeks on it, and I feel it is some of my best work yet. Anyway, here are some pictures: Here we are, walking up to the entrance of the park. Here are some gardens. Here are some Water Slides I am using for fountains, which is very useful. Here is one of the two symmetrical Glass Enclosed Mini Waterfalls. Here is the inside of one of the "Waterfall Buildings". They even have boulders inside. Here is a nice view from an observation bridge that is on top of the entrance. This is the inside of the Entrance. This is the rear of the entrance, seen from what will eventually be the main midway. Here are the gardens behind the entrance, where there is also a bridge with waterslides cleverly disguised as fountains underneath.
Golfie Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Could you supply a link for the tree skirts? Thanks!
Tanks4me05 Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 Believe it or not, those Tree Skirt things are really path borders from Aceana's Pavement ESSENTIALS Packs 1. All you do is place four Marble Border Corners into one tile, and rotate each one ninety degrees from the last one. I found that the link is available in Themeparkreview's Scenery Pack directory, and download it from one of the first two links you see at the top. It isn't the same pack, but it's an updated version.
xascher Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Love the design, very contemporary and modern. Great job and keep us updated!
Golfie Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 ^^Thanks! BTW, the idea of the waterslides are really creative!
Steffen_Dk Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Yes... I would say that. Somehow it looks futuristic, and in another way it looks like banisters used by giants
Calaway Park Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Woah, that path is like, totally psychedellic dude!
steel Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Yeah, that path is like some weird visual drug. It's making my dog hallucinate. But it looks good so far.
coasterdude5 Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Looks cool, a bit different with the color, but different is usually a good thing so keep up the good work.
Tanks4me05 Posted March 6, 2007 Author Posted March 6, 2007 Ok, it's been two months, but I finally finished the entrance plaza! (Technically, it only took me a couple of weeks to make the buildings, but it is extremely challenging to make everything fit together perfectly, as the style of this park is very unique) It has six buildings, and room for a Sky Ride which I plan to put in once I have more of the park constructed. Progress will be very slow on this park for reasons of extremely extensive detail, but next update will have some rides in it, and the first major flat ride will be one of those Bussink Evolution Style Rides. On to the pictures! Here are some more Waterslide Fountains. Here is the path from the back of the park entrance, now with Neon Lamps on the sides. Here are the Restrooms. This is the back of the Restrooms. Here is the first restaurant, the Cornerstone Cafe. Another view of the Cornerstone Cafe. In the background, you see the back of the Cornerstone Cafe, where you sit down to eat. Here is a better view of the back of the Cornerstone Cafe. Notice the Neon Lighting about four or five feet off the ground. This is the Gift Shop, Halcyon Gifts. I named it that as a shout out to my previous project, Halcyon Gardens. Here is the inside of Halcyon Gifts. This is the Guests Services Building. Here is the inside of the Guest Service Building. This is the First Aid Station. Here is the inside of the First Aid Station. This is the Security Building. Here is the inside of the Security Building. This is the back of the Security Building. Here is the back of the First Aid Building. This is another view of the Guest Services Building. This is an overview of the entire area so far.
kennywood!007 Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Looks pretty cool. The colors kinda clash though...
Tanks4me05 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 The first rides are in! Here are some pictures: Just as I promised, a Bussink Evolution is here. These things rule. Here is the entrance. A sign will come later to cover the entrance. This is a fountain that the queue line goes around. Here is a larger fountain that guests walk under. This is an overview of the fountain. This is the back of the fountain. Here is another Open Air Building, this time it houses the Entrance and Exit turnstiles. Yep, B&M finally agreed to make another launched coaster. But this time, it's a Stand up Coaster. - Tanks "I think the Stand up Coaster has not been brought up to its full potential" 4me05.
ArrowHater Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hey thats cool! I like how you made the buildings and the use of the waterslides! The buildings are very modern/futuristc. But the B&M Looks a little painfull after the launch![/b]
jason10 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I was looking through some old topic, you know, as you do... and I came accorss this one. I remember it well... I looked at it and said, this park was great untilnothing was heard form it so, what happened and when do you plan, if ever, on finishing it, as it is a fantastinc and somewhat delightful park. Hope to hear from you soon...
Tanks4me05 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 There are two reasons as to why I haven't worked on this park for so long: 1: My hard drive had to be wiped, and I lost the file during the transfer process - months of work was lost. Luckily, I took extensive screenshots, and so far two of the buildings had been reconstructed. (The Entrance was saved.) 2: For some reason, the game quits half the time I try to start it up. I'm surprised that people still remember this park. I do still have the file, though. I think I'll start working on it again, now that someone actually remembers it.
jason10 Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 ^ Coolio, Glad to hear it. It's a shame that you lost it but sometimes, a fresh start is the best start lol. Can't wait for the first update of the reconstruction!
Tanks4me05 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 There will not be any pictures of the reconstruction - because I am scouring the internet for all the pictures of the park I uploaded, saving them, printing them (so I can see a larger version) and recreating all six buildings and the two rides, piece by piece. So far, two of the buildings have been finished. No reconstruction photos because they are of the same buildings. Once the other four buildings are completed, and the two rides, I will start posting updates. I have concepts for a Dueling LIM Shuttle Coaster and possibly an underground waterpark, but the waterpark will wait until I get a RAM upgrade. The park has been officially named Adventure Gardens, and the Boosting B&M Stand Up has been named Blue Thunder.
Tanks4me05 Posted February 15, 2008 Author Posted February 15, 2008 Sorry for the double post, but I'm bumping this thread. Here is a little teaser until the reconstruction of Adventure Gardens is complete. I should be finished by Monday.
DBru Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Wow, this park looks really cool! I'm glad your starting it back up again!
FitchCoaster Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 This is pretty unique.. I like it! The only problem I have with the park, though, is the repetitive buildings. I think with change of color or a change of style in different buildings, it wil be a little more pleasing to he eye. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what you did with the buildings! I've never really seen buildings like this before. Good job! Keep it up!
coastercrazed49 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Yeah the water slides do look cool, but I think you have started to over use them. Other than that your park looks really good. Keep up the good work.
Tanks4me05 Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 Once we get to Blue Thunder's Station, the architecture changes. It will get more varied. It's just that for the entrance plaza, I wanted a consistency of style - it is extremely difficult to keep in this similar style but not going into "random futuristic styles."
Tanks4me05 Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 Sorry for the double post, but the reconstruction is complete! New pics! The general style was unchanged (of the six entrance plaza buildings.) The entrance plaza buildings used the same architectural style because I wanted a consistency of theme in the front of the park, kind of like Tudor Square at Hersheypark or Main Street USA at WDW's Magic Kingdom. However, the new updates will have more of different architecture - I like to build parks that progressively blend the styles from one to the other as we progress to the back of the park - I see park building not only as fun, but as an art form. Instead of a paintbrush, paint and a canvas, I use a Keyboard, a Mouse and a (basic, integrated) graphics card. For the entrance, some little extra stuff was added. You will see these plants placed sporadically around the park. I placed some haning gardens inside the entrance. I wanted to put flowers in there as well, but you can only put flowers on ground level. I added a little extra something near the entrance bridges. I like this pic. It really shows the atmosphere of the park. Halcyon Gifts was the shop that underwent the most renovations during the reconstruction. For example, the glass wall thing on the side here. This is the renovated inside of Halcyon Gifts. The interior garden was made larger. Here is a pic of Blue Thunder - the launching B&M Stand Up Coaster. Ride logo coming soon. Here we are walking into Blue Thunder's queue. Here we are, climbing the ramp that goes into Blue Thunder's station. Almost there. Woohoo! We are in the station! (The door on the side was deliberately put there - it's the ride op's glass enclosed booth. No, this is not an RCT4 screenshot of increased detail, the LIMS here (and the friction wheels, and the brake fins) are part of a custom scenery pack. My god, there is heck of a lot you can do with custom scenery. Ok, here is your first real pic of Blue Thunder in all her B&M glory and awesomeness. More pictures of B&M's second launched coaster. Blue Thunder again. This is the back of the entrance - I put in a three tiered garden. This is the final brake run - it even has a maintenance/evacuation path with a gate blocking the way from the GP. Another pic of Blue Thunder and her station. A better pic of Blue Thunder's station. I think it turned out very nicely. All the six buildings and two rides were successfully reconstructed, but they were rebuild much closer to their original form - since they are almost exactly the same, I felt that taking pictures of the rest of the park, as it would be technically the same stuff - that would have been a redundancy.
ArrowHater Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Oh My God! I love how you make your stations, buildings, ect.!! Your like a friggen pro!=] aha I suck You should make a building scenery pack (Like save the station) like one for stations one for buildings one for bathrooms=]
Tanks4me05 Posted March 9, 2008 Author Posted March 9, 2008 Update! I asked the park's owner what this empty concrete slab is for, and he said that a Sky Ride will go there once more of the park is developed, so he knows where in the park the other station will be. I see that we have a new snack bar - this one called simply called Super Snacks. Here is the back of Super Snacks. And here's another view of Super Snacks. What the heck is this? Ohhhhh, it's a Tea Cups ride, built in a (quite cool looking) pit. the owner wanted a unique name for this odd ride so he called it Semi Subterranean Twirler. There was a large ladder lying around, so I used it to climb on top of the ride's "sub roof" so I could get a better view of the stuff inside. The park's owner was watching in case I might have done something stupid. Still on the sub roof, this is a pic of the entrance and exit ramps. Here we are, looking at Semi Subterranean Twirler from ground level. I heard that paths might be added around the rim of the pit for observational purposes. Here's another shot of Blue Thunder, just because this B&M is so awesome.
