Well, the entire BCS system is made for USC

actually, I think its made for stupid ND.

Watching SC play the other night and kill Notre Dame really sealed it in my mind, the Trojans should be playing in the title game.

^ I agree with you.

Notre Dame will still be the only 2-loss team to get into a BCS bowl game, while other teams with one loss won't and even the no loss Boise State is still questionable.

USC is the 2nd best team in the country. They have beaten 4 top-25 teams, which nobody else has done.

This system is truly set up for ND, the most overrated team in the country, hands down. They couldn't cover a wet blanket. As much as I dislike USC, I've got to say they deserve to be in the game if they beat UCLA. I'm sorry, but Michigan just doesn't. USC had more quality wins, and that seals the deal for me. The Big 10 was weak this year. I still want a playoff system, and I think it's coming sooner than later.

What I'm hoping for now is an LSU-Michigan Rose Bowl. These 2 teams have never played each other, and I'd love to see the Tigers run all over Michigan and put them in their place.

USC= most overated team in the NCAA and if they in fact do goto the national title game they WILL be blown out....

Said the guy with a West Virginia logo as his avatar...

Look at the facts: Michigan's only loss was to the #1 Team in the nation, and nobody is disputing that. USC lossed to an unranked team, and THEY get bumped in front of U of M by beating a team that Michigan ALREADY KILLED!!! BS BS BS!

Another fact: USC is the only school in all of the BCS conferences that played all their games against other BCS conference teams. They also destroyed an SEC division winner, a Big-12 division winner, and Notre Dame. That's nothing compared to Ball State, Central Michigan, and Vanderbilt...

They're also tied with Ohio State for most victories over bowl eligible teams (10)...

And have handily beaten 3 ranked teams (2 still currently ranked, 1 USC knocked out but will probably still finish in the top 25 if they win out) in row...

And Michigan didn't even win it's conference.

So is it really so clear Michigan is one of the two best teams in the country right now?

USC lost to an UNRANKED team, Michigan lost to the NUMBER ONE team. both one loss, but Michigan clearly better. Sick of all these PAC 10 people thinking that just because USC shows up on the field that they deserve to play in the championship game.

^^Well, taking a look at the LATEST BCS standings...I'd say that playing the #9, #10, #18, #20, and #24 teams qualifies as a pretty tough schedule. Let alone beating the 4 highest ranked of those teams and barely losing to the lowest ranked one.

Not to mention every team except Washington and Stanford on that schedule are bowl eligible, with two of them playing on Saturday for a spot in BCS bowl.

But you're right, that's not a tough schedule at all. Especially when compared to Michigan, who lost to the #1 team and beat #7 and #9 as their only three games against ranked opponents...and scheduled powerhouses such as Central Michigan and Ball State. Not to mention Big-10 is pretty weak outside of those top three ranked teams mentioned.

^Clearly better? How so? I fail to see the logic in "well, we didn't even win our conference, but we lost the conference because the #1 team was in it and beat us...so we're clearly better than all the other candidates to play for the national title!"

Don't get me wrong, Michigan has a very good football team this year. But there is no way they are "clearly better" than any of the other contenders for #2. If they were "clearly better," there wouldn't be any debates, now would there?

USC = New York Yankees of college.

Overpaid, Overrated, Overhyped.

You think we don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan, you should see how little we care about California...

Better the "Yankees of college football" than the "Red Sox of college football" (Ohio State)...You know, that team that is always pretty good, but rarely good enough to win it all.

But look on the bright side: that's still better than Notre Dame.

So I lived in Ohio for like 23 years and now live in California. Do you know how that makes me feel?

Well, USC has alot to be ashamed of and obviously itll be Florida.

Onward to a SEC beatdown by the Big 10!

BTW Jew - You cant look at their schedule now and use the rankings for the teams NOW, you have to use the ranking they had when they played. (Upon checking, Im not even sure where you got those numbers. I used ESPN and it showed completely different numbers)

So, really, they played the #19 Nebraska, #21 Oregon, #17 Cal and #6 Notre Dame. To further that, look at where those teams ended up. Nebraska ended up #20, Oregon fell out, Cal went down to #18 and Notre Dame ended up #10. So all of the people you played just got even worse.

Plus, the BCS is completely slanted to the West Coast.

Doesnt matter anyways, they lost to their SECOND unranked team. How good are they again?

Posted

^Well, not as good as #2. And I think USC at their best could definitely be the #1 team. But unfortunately for me and them, part of being #1 is playing consistently good all year long...and they didn't keep it together.

But you still have to be pretty damn good to finish 10-2 with a schedule like theirs (even by your logic, 4 ranked teams+10 total bowl eligible teams is tough) and win your conference. If it was so easy to go 10-2, a lot more teams would be doing it!

Stupid UCLA.

Well, but USC has been doing it for awhile. Even though they do play 4 ranked teams and 10 bowl eligible, they are consistantly the best in that region. You never hear of any other team even being a threat to the Conference, just their Title hopes.

They are a good team, just, IMO, they arent where the BCS has had em and not as good as they seem. Alot of inexperience on that team. Obviously thats why they lost to two, not so good unranked teams.

My guess is Florida is going to be playing Ohio State, despite the fact I think Michigan deserves to be there.

Now the one thing I'm thrilled to say however is that it won't be USC this year. It is a very good night to be a Bruin.

...Until you wake up and realize that your team still hasn't won a Pac-10 title since 1998 and has to go play in the Emerald Bowl while your cross town rival continues its dominance of the Pac-10 and gets another chance to play in your "home" stadium. And Karl Dorrell is still your coach.

So enjoy the fluke win while it lasts, because UCLA really earned it. F*ckers.

Enough said. Michigan deserves it, hands down. Not Florida. To play in the National Championship, I believe that you can only lose once, and to a top 5 team. What I am saying is that Auburn beat the shoulderpads off of Florida, and they were number 11. Michigan lost to a top 5 team, and by only 3 points, and I was thinking Ohio State would cream the Wolverines.

On the positive note, I am so glad it wasn't USC. They have been the National Champions for way too long. They lost to Oregon and UCLA.

Michigan>Florida>USC>Arkansas>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Notre Dame.

Posted

But if Ohio got beat by Mich and they ended up 1 and 2, I still wouldnt think a rematch is worth it. You GOT your shot, you BLEW it. Thats it. You shouldnt get multiple chances at an opponent. Part of the coolness of college football is the fact that alot of the Bowl Games are by teams that have never played.

With that said - the results:

Title Game #1 Ohio State vs #2 Florida

Sugar Bowl #4 LSU vs #11 Notre Dame

Rose Bowl #3 Michigan vs #5 USC

Cotton Bowl #23 Nebraska vs #9 Auburn

Tostitos Fiesta Bowl #8 Boise St. vs #10 Oklahoma

Fedex Orange Bowl #6 Louisville vs #14 Wake Forest
