Coaster Joe
I spy an Interactive Faller. Wasn't the original supposedly 100ft tall? If so, that Intamin may be the biggest non-launched coaster in the world.
Tanks4me05
The Frequent Faller lives!!!!! W00T! Ok, otherwise, if that and the Intamin Hyper/Giga/freaking huge coaster are to be made, then the South/Central America region will actually have quite a few very nice (coughQuantum Loopcough) coasters in that region. JuanSe_Colombia
Well here is the original link for the Vertigo Press Conference but is in spanish. -So here's in english: Vertigo Park is the new theme park place in Buga, "The City Lady" that will open the doors on July 20th of 2008. The main ride will be a coaster called Vertigo Force that will be the longest rollercoaster in world with 4km nad a 85° degress fall, and also the fastest and tallest in South America. Buld by Chance Morgan . This will be possible with the putting in operation of a tourist macroproject impelled by foreign investors, whom they try to take advantage of the visit that every year makes this population more than 3 million people. With the terminal of transports of the capital of Valle, an agreement in march of strategies for the transport takes from and towards the Park. The proposal that is in march will construct by stages. In the first place the works will be executed of which they have denominated Theme Vertigo Park and the Club La Estancia, conformed this last one by holidays villes. In second phase it is predicted the extension of the Villes and the development of the Ecuestre Club, in addition to the activities of extreme sport. Between some random ideas talked with the investors this creating activities with all the motorcyclists of the City Lady, because the use of that means of transport is elevated. How one of main attractive of the Theme Vertigo the Parks this the hunting Vertigo Force. It will have an extension of 4 kilometers and will become engraved within the topography of the landscape in Buga. This will be approximately 4 minutes of route with speeds of more than 190 kilometers per hour and 4G, as planned by the promoters of the project, who consider that these characteristics turn it fastest and tallest in Latin America. The rides and design will be in charge of Interactive Rides and Chance Morgan. Vertigo Force has already been build in Kansas in the Chance Morgan factory. Esteem that once is counted on all the equipment in the country, requires of a month of test and installation, to fulfill the standards of security in operation and handling, mainly of the waited for attraction more, the Vertigo Force. The goal is that the first stage includes diverse scenes like: -Gothic Castle -Infantile Zone -Rooms of Cinema -Colombian Town -Casino -Garden of Coasters(Jardin de las Coasters) -Bullring (Bulls Plaza or Plaza de Toros.) Three videos on youtube. - - -
thomas2
So Vertigo Force will be a Morgan Gigacoaster, 190km/h and more than 4km? That's just insane! I wonder how tall this thing must be with those specs.
Acero
It says that the coaster will use the terrain of the area, so maybe the lifthill doesn't have to be as tall as the drop, if it's built on a hill. Because a 330'-340' (seems like the right speed to achieve 113mph speeds) lifthill would be pretty crazy. Especially since Morgan doesn't use cable lifts like Intamin. So this will be the third tallest full-circuit rollercoaster in the world, only beaten by TTD and KK?
JuanSe_Colombia
^Yes. The lift hill will be in a mountain so is not as tall as the drop. I sopousse this is a launch coaster with a system similar to the one use in Hulk, and the top is a 180° Top Hat inside. That's what it seems in the pics and the video. JuanSe_Colombia
Well yeah I have a video that explain what the whole complex of Vertigo and La Estancia will be and there's is include how will be Vertigo Force I'm gonna try to upload that part cause the whole video take like 10mins and is in spanish. Acero
Well, from the link you posted there's a video but from the looks of both the map and the coaster they're showing in the vid (Steel Dragon at Nagashima Spaland), is a Morgan Giga...so I don't think it's a launched coaster, unless there's something I missed. If it is a launched coaster then, well, that would be a first for Morgan. But, I don't speak whatever (Portugeuse?) so, yeah. Don't know for sure. JuanSe_Colombia
Yeah I know in that video is show Steel Dragon 2000, but there's two videos of Vertigo I have hte more recently frits it talk of the coaster when they are like showing what the park will have and it shows Steel Dragon, later it talks more deep like of every ride and it shows the track of Vertigo Force
asr
If Vertigo Force is as insane as it sounds, it has a good chance to be one of the world's top ranked coasters provided that enough enthusiasts get to the park and ride it. 4 KM would be around a whopping 15000 feet long I believe, nearly twice Steel Dragon 2000's length. Hopefully working it along the terrain and having plenty of big drops on the mountains will allow it to keep up a decent speed throughout the ride. DenDen
VertigoForce sounds great! And I'm a fan of Morgan steelies, since they did such a wonderful job on Phantom's Revenge. The map on the link makes the coaster look LOOOOOOOOONG, but not thrilling. Hard to tell since it's a artist's rendition, and it is a terrain coaster. The video on the site is funny though. TexTitan01
wait...so South America is gettin the longest, tallest, fastest non-launched full-circuit coaster in the world? AWESOME!! I've always wondered when South America would catch on with the coaster craze; because I just dont hear much about Latino Theme Parks. This should be a really exciting time for anyone who lives in South America and has been DYING for a good high-class theme park Hope construction and park permits/etc go smoothly! BRTeller
I think its great that there's a new park coming with such an awesome coaster. But I'm still a skeptic, why is this the only site that "I have seen to have info". Why wouldn't rcdb have any information still about this. Im not going to call BS but I still think that it is pretty real I am just wondering if there are pictures of any construction on this. Or more info on this park. -Brandon
DenDen
Why wouldn't rcdb have any information still about this. -Brandon Though RCDB is an awesome resource, it's not God. It's info is compiled mostly from user submissions, and then controlled/edited by one person/party. I've found corrections many times over the years, as well as submitted materials. South America isn't known for amusement parks, this one can take some time getting to "engrish" news. The site referenced as the source of this info is a Media Promotion Company in South America. (At least, thats what I gather, my spanish is terrible.) It's hardly someone's "homepage". Did you even check it out?
BRTeller
I understand but you can kind of understand why it confuses me just because of the massive size of the coaster that will be included in the park. Im not saying its a complete lie or bad information so please no one take it the wrong way I'm just asking questions.
Acero
Usually, rcdb only creates the page when a major park that already has coasters builds a new one. Since this is a new park, they're probably either waiting for construction to start, or just don't know about it.
sam06pr
Well here are some videos I found around, however they are in spanish from AOL Basically what they are saying is that construction has started (assuming 3 months ago) and that they will have rides that will be internationally recognized. They say that the theme park will be finished in one year...I hpe they are well on their way to get it done. Apparently their website is down
ECZenith
I'm looking forward to watching this park develop, especially that monster signature coaster I've been hearing so much about. Looks like they want the park to attract guests from around the world.
