Chrissie
The ride looks awesome. although, I am a little bias as The Little Mermaid is my fave Disney movie.
mr_teisco_delrey
I think they should still build the ride and put it in the 20,000 League spot at WDW. It would be an improvement over the Ariel's Grotto that is there now. Â Too late for that. The awesome 20,000 leagues gave way to Winnie the Pooh's playground. Ariel will be delegated to her grotto. Much cheaper to do than a ride.
iunchboxhero
Replacing the show for the ride at MGM. No way!
Ghost
The ride was planned for Disneyland Resort Paris. her you can read the history of the ride that never was http://www.dlp.info/Guide/Fan-Area/F-Files/The-Lost-Rides/The-Little-Mermaid/index.html
speedracer
I feel... since so much of the ride was built into the mermaid land in Tokyo DisneySea, there really is no need of the actual ride. The basic side system is already used in the park's 20K attraction (overhead monorail) to great effect... and the park doesn't really need two. It would be a perfect addition, however, to Hong Kong Disneyland, and give it a much needed UNIQUE attraction (instead of building yet another Peter Pan.) Plus the animatronic Ursula head at DisneySea (which can be seen from the video on my blog at: http://web.mac.com/okwhatev/iWeb/disneysea/Ursula%20Animatronic%20Head%20Video.html  I say build it, but build it somewhere that DOESN'T already have an inverted monorail darkride.  Thanks for that, VERY cool! Ursula's my fav villainess, why I wished this ride would be built, to see the full scale giant animatronic Ursula!

arby
It's interesting to read back through this thread and then see it all finally come to life at Disneyland.
bbomser
Wow. Awesome looking back on the thread. Now the ride exists, and the castle does as well (New Fantasyland). Pretty interesting how Disney sneaks these things out at times, and nobody goes crazy.
cfc
The ride itself is pretty good, until the "Er, now what exactly happened?" ending.
