  1. 1. Should the pic be removed?

    • No it shouldn't be removed based on someone personal feelings.

So, there's a picture of an African American pointing at a "rebel" flag.... am I the only person who finds it extremely ironic that this caused a controversy? I mean, if it was me, I would have beeen like,"Yeah hi, Im a BLACK GUY with a confederate flag on his door.... if anybody had the right to be offended by it, stereotypically it would be me, so maybe you should tell the other people to pull their heads out of their collective anus."

But yeah, people now days are ENTIRELY too sensitive toward everything. You should tell the offended to go talk to their shrinks about it, and not you.

My grandfather had a picture of a Black Confederate soldier choking a White Union soldier from the Civil War. If i could find that pic, i wonder what work would say about that.

Agreed, slavery was an after thought on the side of the North.

I do Civil War Reenacting...I had a Sticker On my binder of the Civil War Reenactors Association...(Picture Below)

I got reported by someone due to racial flag on my binder. The sticker is supporting and preserving history, to teach kids and others about our past. I was told to either cover the confederate flag up, or take it off. So I covered it up, so people could SEE how ridiculous the situation really was.

Yes, It is history, yes, we need to remember. People who are offeneded obviously dont know enough about our Nation's history to judge. If they are still butt hurt about the civil war, why dont they go spend their time else where, maybe another foreign country where stuff like this is still happening.

I had a similar situation a few years ago at school. We had "personal work stations" or desks with like cabnets and stuff on them. People would run around and post notes to each other and stuff on them, and put up pictures of whatever on them too. One day one of my friends posted a picture on my desk of me and him standing next to a sign that said "Impeach Bush" just because we saw it and thought it was funny, (dont bash me for anything political, I really dont care, we just though the sign was funny). So one of my teachers walked by one day and saw it, so she told me that I needed to take it down. So I asked her why, and she said something to the effect like "Because some one brought it to my attention and thought it was innaproprate" which was clearly not true, because she had JUST seen it when she walked by.

So this is what I did. I took it home and made a bunch of copies, and kept them in my backpack. Then I took EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING off of my work station, and even painted over the little notes and stuff people had left me, then I stuck ONE of the pictures on my desk. Every day or so, she would walk by and tear it down, so I just put up another one. My history teacher absolutly LOVED this and thought it was great that I was doing this, even with my extreme lack of interest for politics. So this went on for about a month, then she finially told my parents during a confrence what I had been doing. So I had to take it down, but oh well, I made my point and I think she got it. Also, my history teacher actuially found a bumper sticker that the picture was of and now has it on his car.

So yeah thats what I did, it worked, I got the message across.
