slither37 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Good idea, although my team is not having an exceptional class. But next year should be ranked in the top 3 at the start of the season due to the number of returning starters. Go Bucks! Bucks get to destroy one of my most hated teams this coming season. I almost despise the hurricanes as much as I despise notre dame.
Josh Linn Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Florida brings in another monster haul despite Urban Meyer's status still up in the air. If you go by Rivals.com, UF pulled in three defensive lineman who were top 10 recruits, one being Ronald Powell who is (pretty much) the consensus top player in the country. I feel bad for the rest of the SEC, because it's starting to become a 2-team league. Nobody's touching Florida or Alabama.
larrygator Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 As a Florida alum and fan my biggest concern is at WR and RB. The offense is going to have to change with Brantley at QB next year but with no proven receivers returning and the only Top 20 WR recruit being only 5-10 that concerns me. Maybe Florida can still reel in Ivan MacCartney, but freshman recievers are generally not game changers. Florida still doesn't have a go to RB, we have a lot of speed but need someone that can come through with those tough yards. Mack Brown (Florida's prospect, not the coach) is supposed to be good but we'll have to see. And I wouldn't say Florida and Alabama (with a lot of holes to fill) are that far ahead in recruiting when 4 other SEC teams have Top 10 recruiting classes: #4 Auburn #6 LSU #7 Tennessee #9 Georgia
Jew Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 USC has an amazing skill position class coming in, but are still in desperate need of LB's and OL. I'm not expecting much from this years class, considering the new coaching staff is not yet complete and only had like 2 weeks to try and reel people in. Just keeping the commits Pete Carroll and Co. lined up is good enough for me this year, and will result in a top 15 recruiting class due to the skill position players.
Cavs Fan Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 The U is my second favorite football team. Of course, Ohio State is my favorite. Ohio State may not have a strong recruiting class this year, they got a whole lot of players from last years team. Terrelle Pryor is going to be great this year. I can't wait for a few years when they play Cincinnati and Cal.
Jew Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 How did everyone's school do? I'm thrilled USC landed Seantrel Henderson, as OL is a HUGE concern (3 seniors this year). The skill position players are also ridiculous. Would have liked another LB, but there's no way I can complain given the circumstances!
CoasterGuy06 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 It really is kind of weird, since it really feels like its just been a "ho-hum" day since so many recruits committed early this year. Still happy with the class Alabama pulled in.
stingrock23 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 LSU had another top 10 class, and that's really all that matters. A lot of these guys never pan out, but if your program is consistently in the top 10 recruiting-wise and you have decent coaching, your team should be top 10-15 every season.
larrygator Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 The abundance of riches in defensive linemen Florida has coming is obscene, but I'm still concerned on the offensive side of the ball. UF may not have a difference maker at wide out which is rough as the team transitions to a more traditional passer.
