Wasn't sure where to put this but it involes both the 49ers and PGA.....is there parking lot even big enough. But ya know it doesn't matter where they move, they are still gonna suck...hahahahahaha

Would Great America get a new parking lot?

From what I remember, that parking lot is right next to Top Gun's first drop and loop.

The Oakland A's tried the same thing about 5-10 years ago...

 

It's just a ploy to get the city to approve the surrounding development they want with a new stadium at Candlestick point.

 

Why the hell they would want to stay in that awful location, I'll never know. But whatever.

The spot where the stadium would go would be in PGA's overflow lot. This is still owned by teh city and leased by PGA.

How much space is left in that lot? I thought they had already sold off some of it for various office buildings. I haven't been to the park since 2000, so obviously I haven't seen the lot lately.

 

I agree it's all a ploy, though, for them to get to do whatever they want with the new stadium area.

If you zoom in a bit, the huge parking lot next to the left of the youth soccer field in the below link is PGA's overflow lot, which PGA rarely needs or uses:

The City's been trying for decades to build a stadium there, just haven't had any luck suckering us locals into flipping the bill for it.

I'm still mad that they named it 3Com park or whatever crappy name it is now.
