  1. I think the TPR secret santa gift I sent was regifted to Joey Ray .. Either that or someone else has great taste in remote control items.
  2. I just walked in the door to Kristin showing me her Secret Santa box. Whoever knew she was a huge vinylmation and Will Ferrell fan (or just happens to have impecable taste) should be commended for the gift selection. Kristin says, "Thank you and I promise to post a photo update once I finish grocery shopping and wrapping presents!"
  3. Just spent a few minutes checking all sources.. The permit is real, the draughtpersons (American English for a draft person, or Auto Cad designer) are real and employed. So yeah. We are definitely getting Harry Potter the squeakuel at the the former Jaws pad. Props to the original poster for being able to search on the Orlando permitting site (you had to know the permit type wild card plus the name of the company).. Good ish. Thanks original poster for figuring this out and Robb for reposting.
  4. I was debating on shooting a video or taking pictures which is why the camera was held in that manner
  5. Thanks to my secret Santa for some awesome gifts ( and having faith in my ability to read) . Here's my unboxing video . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59J75Q6epKk
  6. That's one impressive fair. With so many permanent installations, how long are the attractions open each year?
  7. Great photos. Wow. Is the carousel photo and few others true HDR or did you do something else in the post process? Impressive!
  8. ^So what's your guess? TPR isn't about cryptic messages that can be taking numerous ways. There are plenty of other sites on the internet for that. Edit- To the above poster: It's poor form to change the content of your original message after someone comments on it. Just saying. I'll remember to quote you next time so my comments don't get misconstrued.
  9. Based upon the construction photos I've seen of a truss system being set up for the rumored new lagoon show and screamscapes rumor that they are working with the company aquatique (as well as the photos that show their logo on equipment used for the project), it looks like they are building one of these. It's called Aqua Graphics. and interestingly enough, this video was posted by aquatique just 5 days ago. Could this be a video of the Universal Orlando test?
  10. Cool update Chad. It kind of blows my mind that their "select and cut" trees are white pines and leyland cypress. Here in the North East we use those strictly as plants for screening or blocking out your neighbors and it blows my mind that anyone would pick a variety like that as a Christmas tree. They just aren't "christmas tree-ish" at all. Their precut trees are the more traditional Fraser Fir though.
  11. If this was an internal mock up of the train from intamin you'd figure they'd get the style of track correct? (isn't this track different compared to what is actually being built?). The front of the train looks very similar to the video that was posted when it was announced though.
  12. Thanks to the steelworker that posted that video and you for sharing it. Not to get all sentimental, but it's awesome we live in a time where people working on a project like this can share a video or their perspective easily with the world.
  13. Guy- Can't wait to see the video. Santa told me that the person who picked out this gift for you spent some time checking out your posts and your sense of humor and thought it would be right up your alley (complete with the brain remote control to match the "what's in a brain video" you did). Glad you like it! Now, I want to see the RC zombie in action
  14. Kristin and I are totally bummed out that both of our secret santa recipients will be disappointed we didn't buy them an ipod touch.. (Well played!, btw) .. Hopefully they will think our gifts are at at least ok.
  15. Not to be a debbie downer, but I don't see any of these things persuading me to go to the park (and a few seem like a waste of money) .. Chris "just sharing my opinion" Connolly
  16. Sent my gift out. If the person that receives my gift has the sense of humor I think they do then they will love this. BTW. I sent mine via UPS because I ordered it online. Hope this is ok Brandy.
  17. If you are reading this, I'll just assume that you love themeparks like the rest of us. Suprisingly, some people would rather watch cement cure. This is a thread about people not enjoying theme parks (heretics?)... Here are some photos from a trip report I saw on imgur today. I think I have may found a new hobby spotting people hating life in a theme park. If you have photos, please share them ! source: http://imgur.com/a/RkqR9
  18. One of the reasons that this is very possibly tied to Avatar is the fact that the patent application was filed so recently (December 8th 2011). There are many companies that speculatively file for patents for stuff that is just bluesky and probably will never be created (Apple is a company that is widely known to do this). Disney on the other hand usually only files for a patent for a tangible product they are going to create or have already created. The only thing that concerns me about this patent application is that I'm not aware of Disney filings they have masked the true implementation of the project like they have in the drawings here (drawing of flying around a building versus drawing of flying around a forest). Although that is common practice for a company like Apple, I've never seen Disney do it before. Either way, I'd expect this to be built somewhere for some project. Props to the op.
  19. This land is lonely and wants something built on top of it. Needs more construction.
  20. What if the Harry Potter expansion was going into the area directly north and east (the "not used to it's potential" horitculture area and sinbad) and the jaws pad was for something else?
  21. ^Agreed. You'd figure they would be building this as quickly as possible just to get it out before the brand's popularity begins to fade (if it ever does) ^^ I edited my post on the previous page to show a map with my calculations.
  22. Just to throw this out there- The map that westcoaster posted and Joey shared is about 7.4 acres (according to daft logic) Harry Potter World including just the town and the village is also 7.4 acres ... Seems legit.
