Cedar Fair 2007 Halloween Events
Jive replied to Vffreak07's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's the Asylum Video from last year. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=87&g2_itemId=6793 Here's the photos that we got from inside. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=87&g2_itemId=6576 We're running slow today so it might take a little longer than normal to get the video running. We went through Blood Shed training last night and it was pretty sweet. -

The Official "TPR Japan Trip 2007" Thread
Jive replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm a fan of X and I absolutely hated Eejwhatever. It was actually the entire reason for our trip to Japan and was by far the biggest disappointment. I'm glad that I only waited an hour and a half for it. I'm also glad that we decided to end our trip at the Disney parks. They put the happy back in Jive. Do any of you know where to get a Steel Dragon shirt? I looked all over the park and all they had was tiny ass shat. I'm about 6'4" and built like a Greek God (was there a God of cheese?). My 2nd choice is a Journey to the Center of the Earth shirt from Disney Sea or just any non-girly Disney Sea shirt. That park was pretty much bad ass. I just can't find shirts anywhere. -
TPR Japan Trip Itinerary

The wife and I were at the two Disney parks today and spotted a couple of TPR trippers. Disney Sea is freakin' awesome. -
Eejanaika Opening Day Photos & POV Video
Jive replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We rode it earlier in the week and were really disappointed. The roughness is just too much. I really think that a smaller 4 dimensional coaster would be better. This is one of the few rides that less speed would likely equal more fun. -
Are you guys out of the way of the typhoon? The wife and I got caught in it this afternoon and Parque Espana and got screwed out of the two outdoor coasters. The storm should clear the area around lunch time though and we'll be heading to Nagashima Spa Land.

Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Jive replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Raging Bull is the least popular B&M hyper in the US. Why would a park want to take a chance on a layout that's similar. On Mitch's coaster poll Nitro is #7 and SFoG's Goliath is #10. Raging Bull is #31. Canada's Wonderland took a proven formula and added some height along with an 85 degree drop. Wanting a different layout = wanting a crappier ride. -

I don't understand the comments about the layout??? What are the alternatives that everyone seeks? Are hills no good? Should they have turned right instead of left? -
TPR 2007 Japan Trip Question
Jive replied to CoasterBill04's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't remember the TPR dates but I'll be there with the wife late next week. What parks are you closest to? -
Hi res versions are available here - http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=87&g2_itemId=309&g2_page=2 Click on the full size icon above each photo and it will open a larger version in a new window. Thanks for all of the comments. This is my first season with a DSLR and I'm getting better each time I go out. Dollywood was the first set of photos with the new camera and when I go back and look at them now I can see a big improvement. I head over to Japan for 2 weeks next week and will be posting photos as soon as I can.

I can't wait to see what this thing looks like. Here's the ground breaking article. http://www.kansascity.com/115/story/244918.html Here's an old Fun World article with some project details. http://www.schlitterbahn.com/news/press/releases/kc/FUNWORLD-5-2007.pdf

While walking around the park I also spent some time shooting Dragster. Here's some of the keepers. I actually took this during the MF tour through the lift structure from the rock pile across the outer road Looking down the barrel again Going up Coming down The all girl train gets messy hair from braking All girl train Right after the launch

This past Friday I scored a photo tour of Millennium Force and Maverick. Unfortunately Maverick was down during our time slot so it's tour got canceled. Here's a handful of the MF photos (hi res versions can be found by following the link in my sig). Looking down the barrel of a drop Lift stuff Returning to the mainland

Something new at Canada's Wonderland for 2008
Jive replied to jonlocke's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The bolt pattern is very telling but the shape of the footer doesn't mean much. When Patriot's footers were going in everyone claimed that B&M was out because they were round. I think that it all depends on the company that's brought in to build the thing. -
HALLOWEEN HAUNT at Worlds of Fun
Jive replied to Swoosh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I probably only had 6 or 7 total. It took me a week or two to really get the hang of it. Waffle House only tastes good at 1am or later. And you have to be dead tired. -

It really is a blast. If you can make people fall down then you've done your job. The after party at Waffle House is just an added bonus. -

Here's our video from Asylum Island last year. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=87&g2_itemId=6793 This year we'll be shooting in High Def (even though we're still not sure how we're going to host it). Here are some of the photos that we gathered along the way as well. http://www.coastercommunity.com/index.php?option=com_gallery2&Itemid=87&g2_itemId=6576&g2_page=1 -

After about 10pm the voice is shot and I'm guessing that some just rely on hissing to make some type of noise. I kept a little green tea hidden back in the break room to help keep my voice working at it's best. -

I'm not a huge fan of Lore either. The hissing gets a little tiresome. It's like a haunted pissed off cat maze. Even though it's my least favorite I still go through it every time I'm out there.
