Echoing everyone else here, great TR! -
Wait...they had a male cruise director that wasn't gay? Our straight friends got into the Love and Marriage game (which he hosted), so we stayed to watch that. . and he made *many* references to his wife while doing the game show. (and yes, we were the ONLY bears from the group that stayed, as he didn't not pick a gay couple, so many who had gone to see it got up and left) Maybe he voted to make cruises great again...

The first weekend in March isn't typically too bad for crowds. You are correct about Pirates being closed for refurb along with Matterhorn. From the restaurant, you can see the preload queue, the boat launch, and the swamp area. After that, the rest of the ride drops below your view. I'd say it's still worth going, and you still have a lot of rides to choose from. Are you visiting DCA as well? Yes, I will be visiting DCA as well. I'll probably be spending most of my time at Disneyland, however, especially with no Tower of Terror. I'm looking forward to seeing the Star Wars Land construction! The park (along with California) has been subjected to lots of rain, and in some instances, has closed early. Just set your expectations if this happens, but so far the forecast looks clear of rain around the time of your trip. Yes, it sure has been rainy lately, and I heard about the early closings. I'd honestly be fine with rain as long as the park is still open, as that tends to lessen crowds. This. I enjoy rainy days at Disneyland, the lines are short and you're already primed for Splash Mountain. Pack a pancho!

I would imagine it being very, very low. It would be easier for the park to design a new coaster/ride around whatever structures are currently located in the area they are considering. Given Goliath's popularity, the cost of testing the ground/zoning/permit for a new tunnel, etc. it just doesn't make sense to me.

Pirates should be reopening on March 16th as it will celebrate its 50th anniversary, Matterhorn is closed on weekdays at the moment but is open on the weekends. This comes directly from a cast member at the resort. Have a great weekend. As stuff goes around here at TPR, I'd trust the Disneyland calendar for refurbishment info vs. the dippin dots guy As it currently stands, the refurb list for the weekend of your trip looks like the following:

They do a buffet in between some days towards the end of October. Nothing in the park will be open, you'll be cleared out just like it's regular park close. There is a restaurant in Levi's that is open during this time, or stuff just a 15-20 minute walk away. You can attend with a platinum pass They offer the boo-fet during Haunt, just not towards the end of October. While Haunt is a separate ticketed event, it is included with your Platinum pass.
