  1. Agreed. If anyone wants to pay for perks, they will. Disney owes its AP's NOTHING but what's outlined in their pass perks. BTW, the building is really looking great at night. I wonder if they're going to use any digital mapping for the outer facade. photo found on facebook
  2. ^^^ James Cameron claims to already have the next 4 Avatar movie scripts finished.
  3. According to one of my friends on facebook, the park was dead all day today. The longest line for Gold Striker reached the top of the stairs.
  4. I doubt the people at Prudential would be happy to see another ride at this spot. A Tunnel here and there and some sand can solve that problem pretty easily. If tunnels are the easy solution, I hope they try to plus them and give them some cool LED lighting effects.
  5. Until we see any markings anywhere else or signs of construction, it's a safe assumption at this point. Remember, parks can build anywhere. That includes the top of existing structures where you would not see markers.
  6. Looks like passholder previews have gone and the new "upcharge party" is in place: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/events/galactic-premiere-party/purchase/
  7. If they were smart, they would have the cast of TV's Gotham at Riddlers reopening.
  8. I was challenged as well, having it end as it usually does with the "it's not the way I like it so I'm not going to accept it" discussion. I fail to see how Bugsland or Carsland can "sort-of" fit into DCA but when Marvel doesn't when Marvel has used the real world as a setting throughout its whole career. West Coast Avengers, SHIELD is stationed all over the world, etc... It's a very clear fact superheroes reside in California as well, can't be argued (or you would think). Then when they would bring up how much they don't have faith in a company they seemingly still attend every year, I used Iron Man at HKDL as a perfect example. But we all know you can throw them straight proof of a comics taking place in California in a park about California, I got told "it still doesn't fit." Whaa - whaaa? Shield is stationed behind TOT, therefore superheroes are naturally nearby in the town of Hollywood. Easy for everyone but a fanboy. That argument should start at end at, "Remember when Walt came to California and got a job washing dishes at a diner... in Monstropolis? Ah, yes. Those were the good old days."
  9. My reaction when I read all the Disney fanboy/fan girl hate rants about how this ride is destroying DCA and the Disneyland Resort: Someone even challenged me to explain how this ride fits into the story of California... oh, please tell me how a land inhabited by homunculus automobiles fits, or a land with English speaking insects helps tell the story of California. If anything, California has always been infatuated with celebrity and entertainment. It's the home of Hollywood. Nothing is more Californian than modeling a ride after a successful movie franchise. Seems legit to me, but like all updates to the resort, after the ride opens and the hard core Disney fans get to ride it, the sooner they will start back pedaling and praising.
  10. It can be done, it would just involve a lot of driving and ungodly patience. At the moment, CGA doesn't have their September schedule posted and that time is usually a Haunt schedule. So, I could not guarantee you making both parks happen. Hypothetically speaking, you could make it from one park to the other in an hour, but that's without any traffic problems. Even so, I would recommend you skip any flat rides at CGA and get in your flat rides at SCBB. Dedicate your time at CGA to riding Goldstriker, Flight Deck, and Patriot until you get your fill (ride Demon if you're feeling like getting beat up, and skip Wildmouse at CGA because SCBB has Undertow and its a better ride. It also spins, Wildmouse does not). From SCBB it would take you about 5 hours to get to Magic Mtn. I assume you'd try to fit this all in on the day before WCB (Friday)....
  11. The original Typhoon was my first ride of its kind. I can't wait to get a nostalgic ride on the new version!
  12. I did enjoy the supernatural twist the ride brought to the park, and also have the utmost faith in WDI to bring us a quality product. If the rumors of expanding a Marvel land into the parking lot behind the tower, this would make the ride the landmark of the new area.
  13. I for one welcome the change. From what everyone says, the WDW Tower of Terror is far superior. I've seen the on-ride videos, and they make the now-defunct DCA version look like doggie doo.
  14. He is scheduled to appear in the next Avengers movie, but you are correct. The character will not be in the latest GoTG sequel. I am also hopeful for some awesome nighttime lighting and effects.
  15. I saw this on SlashFilm... This wouldn't surprise me one bit, but I'm not totally sold because it doesn't look 100% like the profile of the building. But what do I know. Edit: it looks like it could be taking some damage in that picture, so maybe that will all tie in with the ride's story.
  16. I will say ever since the ride opened, and I'm not sure how most other floorless coasters ride as I've only ever been on Scream and Dæmonen in Copenhagen (and Dæmonen was from what I remember, very smooth with a softer wheel compound) With SFDK's Medusa not far away from where I live, I can tell you the rides are like night and day. Medusa has always been smooth on my rides, while Scream beats me like a redheaded step child.
  17. They probably got the idea from riding it and feeling sensations in their body. This. My group who rode Scream at WCB weren't the only ones who got off the ride complaining about the pain. Like I said, it was brutal.
  18. Last WCB was my official last time riding it until something is done. It was brutal.
  19. I second this, after riding at both the media day and he passholder event, there really is airtime in the corkscrew. Of all places you wouldn't expect it. Do you guys mean hang time? I just can't fathom airtime while upside down. Is it even possible? No. They mean airtime. It's not like the slow paced roll that you get on say, SFDK's Superman ride. That transition feels like forever. This is tight singular corckscrew with enough force to give you a little pop. It was surprising to say the least. That element was always painful on the yarbles before.
  20. Echoing you here. I am also interested in what kind of night time effects the makeover will bring.
