  1. That said... I couldn't disagree with you more. Knott's Scare zones are basically the best in the world. Fire, while fun, does not a scarezone make. And their mazes are much more unique and varied. I feel like this may be your first visit to Fright Fest. It is relatively impressive for a first time visitor (though I'd still find Knott's better even in that regard), and certainly a good bargain--it's one of the cheapest haunts in a theme park. And for the money you pay, it's not bad. But just wait until next year when you realize all the Fright Fest mazes are exactly the same as the year before. And the year before that. And the year before that... Couldn't have said it better.
  2. Not only that, but they gave us a handful of mazes based off of movies that aren't even out yet... Maybe if they had been, more people could connect with their maze counterparts. The park just wasn't the immersive event it usually is. It didnt feel like HHN to me... more like Universal Studios normal operations, with haunt mazes. I'm not too sure I would consider AHS a re-boot from last year, as they didn't cover the Roanoke story in last years AHS maze.
  3. I will echo your sentiment for the passed years, but this year was such a let down. I don't know if the budget was cut, but it sure seemed like it. It felt more like I was walking around a fair, going from maze to maze vs. the immersive event that HHN has been in the past. Hopefully, it returns to its former self next year. If you get the chance, spend the money on Scary Farm this year.
  4. That's disappointing to read... I was hoping they would go full blown LED's in the tunnel. What a miss.
  5. I may be in the minority, but I've never found it all that funny. There may be a good joke here and there, but I find most of it quite immature in a bad way. Never been my thing. I also thought pretty much the same for Bill & Ted, but at least that had sexy eye candy, haha. Also, Sol Spin has been on a longer cycle ever since it came back from it's 3 week rehab a month or so ago. Are you saying it's changed again recently? Oh, there was much sexy eye candy this year.
  6. This years premier theme park Haunt in Southern California is Scary Farm. They really stepped it up. The new mazes were amazing, and the returning mazes were vastly improved upon. Even the Hanging show was funny again (it hasn’t been in 3-4 years, sorry but not sorry. That’s just the truth). I found HHN this year to be super lack luster. Their scare zones were weak and seemed like an after thought, while Knotts thrived. I’ll go into more detail later, if anyone wants. I’m currently driving home at the moment.
  7. Will you have front of line passes? Even without them, you will get to do more with early entry.
  8. Just got off the phone with Domm, he’s there and reports that Montezuma (lights were on and train on the tracks) & Xcelerator are down. Pony express and the log ride were down, but just re-opened operations. We will be there tomorrow, and hopefully Montezumas is open.
  9. The prices are clearly listed on their site... https://www.sixflags.com/discoverykingdom/store/tickets https://www.sixflags.com/discoverykingdom/special-events/fright-fest-night Those are the admission prices. The prices for the "haunted attractions" still say coming soon. That is what I am looking for. I’m pretty sure you didn’t look at all... The same exact page said "Coming Soon" instead of a price when I made my original post, so feel free to save your condesention. Thanks for the info RawkinCoaster. You asked a question. I provided the links WITH the pricing to help, and you ignored them. Sure, I’M the a$$h0le
  10. Xcelerator has been left off the list of available rides for fast/fright lane during Scary Farm. https://d3knbu6191stae.cloudfront.net/binaries/content/assets/kb-en-us/general-information/explore/2017-kbf-scary-farm-map.pdf

  13. The construction area is going to help Scary Farm's Carnevil scare zone. It felt too thinly spread last year. Can't wait to experience it this Saturday!
  14. To be honest, I was more interested to find out what comes in second. My fingers are crossed for FarmersOnly.com
  15. HHN tickets for the 22nd of Sept. acquired! I asked a friend of mine who works there to rank the mazes from best to "meh", without spoilers (last night was their employee preview). Here's his list: I am super excited for The Shining, and find it interesting their Insidious maze is based on the yet to be released film.
  16. I always find looking straight up during the ascension to be worse/disorienting, but that's probably just me.
  17. That's pretty cool. I've been looking at the satellite pics of the area and wish they could acquire the land across the way (along with the hotel). They could build a pedestrian bridge over Fairgrounds drive. Hell, throw a gondola lift/skyway system for convenience too. Or maybe use that land to build a parking structure, and expand the park there. Just wishful thinking. Pipe dreams...
  18. Ever try Google.com? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Cedar+fair+Clayton The beginning of the article says exactly what his title is... It's like the responses to TPR's video posts...
  19. I figured it was due to all the new rides coming out next year vs. this year.
  20. So, Xcelerator and Montezuma are "all the major rides" at this park? GTFO
  21. I would say buy it if it won't break your budget. Some of the newer mazes have limited capacity, so it's worth it if for nothing else to go through Paranormal Inc & Infected more than once. You could theoretically do it all without the Fright Lane, but you would be cutting it close and not likely to have time to repeat anything you enjoyed. Plus, this year the frightlane works for both mazes and rides. No need to buy two types of "front of the line" passes.
  22. Ditto. I'll brave the unhealthy air quality in Shanghai for this ride, any day. It looks amazing.
