  1. An amusement park in Alaska would make almost no sense, the largest city Anchorage only has about 280,000 people in it and a metropolitan area of 350,000, the entire state only has about 630,000 residents. I doubt many tourists would go to an amusement park in Alaska because Alaska tourism is mainly nature driven, so an amusement park would probably not be such a great business venture. Alaska does have an indoor water park with a master blaster though.
  2. I witnessed a altercation at Geauga Lake. I was standing with my cousins at the main gate waiting for the other members of my family to come back from X-Flight. All of a sudden these two ladies started going at each other. One would say "your out of my life" the other one would shoot back "don't ever call me again." While this was happening the "Freedom" show was going on so there were all these lights and loud patriotic music blaring while these two women were going at it. Everyone was watching and listening to them announcing the problems with their relationship, and to make matters worse they were cussing each other out with their young children next to them.
  3. IX indoor is amazing I didn't get to go this year.
  4. Finally this park gets a new ride, it been 17 years since Frontier City got a new major coaster. Its really sad that Six Flags Headquaters used to be right next to the park and kind of forgot about it. PARC Management did more with the park in two years than Six Flags did in 27.
  5. There was a small, old, mom and pop water park in Revenna Ohio, near Geauga Lake, called Holiday Sands. It was basically a big man made lake with slides and other water attractions around it. The big slide there was a tall speed slide made of metal, so it was kind of like a 50 foot tall playground slide with a trickle of water going down it. It was horrifying, I remember the first time I went down, halfway down I sat up and grabbed the sides to slow myself down, and I am not kidding, the friction of my nails scrapping on the tin slide made sparks, it was great fun though. To bad Holiday Sands closed down in 2003, now the only waterpark in Northeast Ohio is Geauga Lake, which sucks, but the Hurricane Falls there body slides are also terrifying too.
  6. nice to see that texas twister is getting a nice makeover. to bad its not at gl
  7. You guys in VA are so lucky, I am going to miss my weekly marathons on Dominator. What a great ride, I hope they fix the trains so the ride wont be so jerky through the inversions.
  8. Great TR. Cedar Point is a place that there are just no words for. I live within an hour of it and have been to it many times, but i still can't wrap my head around it. Why this beautiful, spectacular park is smack dab in the middle of Ohio between Cleveland and Toledo of all places I will never know. From my experience the best way to ride magnum is to sit in the front row of the last car. The airtime is amazing there and never fails. other then that, airtime on magnum is hit or miss. I hope I don't sound like know-it-all but i just wanted to run to the defence of maggie!
  9. My dad told me that the first year Double Loop opened he waited 3 hours for it. I wish I could have been to the park back than.
  10. wow, admitting that riders will be lightheaded, jossled, and shaken up takes alot of balls. to bad they went under because i honestly love all the arrows ive been on.
  11. Top Thrill Dragster is a gimmick. Sheikra has an actual layout that is more than just up and down, and is a lot more thrilling. Have you even ridden it? I agree that Top Thrill Dragster is a gimmick, but it is a huge adrenaline rush. Yes I have been on Sheikra.
  12. Sheikra is so stupid. Its a huge gimmick. I just can't stand it.
  13. Excalibur at SFStL, it looks like a cool ride, but its seems a little random.
  14. I have grown up with GL as my homepark and i am so upset with this asinine decion thats all i am gonig to say.
  15. awsome tr! I was thr wendsay the 22nd and the park was empty. 15 minutes for Dragster, 20 minutes of Millie, 30 minutes for Mavey, with Raptor, Mean Streak, CCMR, Skyhawk, MaxAir, and Magnum (which had ejector airtime, the best since CoasterMania 06) all walk ons. Disaster Transport was the longest wait due to the AC in the line and Gemini was only running the red side. We got on 12 coasters and missed Gemy, Wildcat, Corkscrew, Wicked Twister and Jr. Gemy simply because we didn't feel like riding them. The best day at the point ever. And just a sidenote---Don't ever go to the McDonalds on Cedar Point Dr. The worst service ever. It took them ten minutes to give us our Double Cheese Burger, Fries and 2 Snack Raps. They even forgot to put sauce on another womans snack wrap, and she waited for 5 minutes simply to be handed cold honey mustard. other then that, it was awsome!
  16. An hour and a half for Storm Runner opening year, I was very disappointed with the ride. I also waited an hour and fifteen minutes for Mantis during Halloweekends, it was one of the shorter lines.
  17. I was at The Point 4th of July weekend 2005 with great weather and crazy crowds...it was hard to walk down Top Thrill Midway, but surprisingly the line for Top Thrill and Mellenium Force were under an hour. so dont worry about crowds.
  18. 1. Maverick 2. SMROS (SFNE) 3. Beast 4. Top Thrill Dragster 5. Millennium Force 6. Magnum 7. Montu 8. Phantoms Revenge 9. Dominator 10.Villain
  19. Hey, We've finally decided to check out Indiana Beach and Holiday World, as well as hitting up KI with our Maxx Passes this summer. The trip won't be until the later part of the summer, which can often be the most crowded, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make this trip the best trip it can be. Thanks
  20. The first time I rode Villain at Geauga Lake, than Six Flags Ohio, I almost cried cause I actually thought I was going to die. I was 9 than and it took me another year to get back on it and now I love it.
  21. Favorite-Dominator at GL. Its awsome how the line just barly fits it, but unfortunatly i havent had to use it in the 4 years cedar fair has owned the park worst: Raptor...its just huge and is always filled, and the pay of just isnt worth it.
  22. I agree completely, my experience there was average. StormRunner and Lightning Racer were a huge disapointment after I heard so many grat things about them.
  23. When i started out yesterday (5/13) leaving my house at 2:30 for a drive that takes about 90 minutes to get to cedar point, i was a little leary of it all. After all what can one possibly do at one of the most popular amusement parks in the country with less then 3 hours? turns out, a lot! We arrived at the park at 345, excited to finally start the coaster season. After seeing no pass line at the front of the group ticket/pass office, i was excited. I usually get my pass processed at GL since it is 10 minutes from where i live, so naturally i thought, look no line! turns out the line was in the back, and was a line that would take upwards of an hour at geauga lake. Me and my brother sighed and got in line. To our surprise we got our passes in under 10 minutes and we were in the park by 405. First up- Demon Drop- I love First Gen. Intamin Free Falls , and was sad when mr. hydes was removed from my home park, and being that there was no line, we got on. The best thing about first gens is the stomach-in-your-mouth feeling that seems to be lacking on the new drop towers. As always awsome-9/10 Then on to my favorite coaster at the park, Maggie. After a 10 minute wait, we snagged the front seat and had a great ride. A couple good pops of air, but nothing like the insane air-time we got during ERT at CoasterMania last year. None the less, still the best coaster in the park-(10/10) We then made the logical jump over to Gemini with just a 3 train wait for the back. It was a surprising ride as i never knew this thing delivered air like it did, and still gives a smooth ride. (9/10) Next we checked out Maverick. After not being too impressed with the themeing on the construction gallery, i got to say the ride looks great. I also couldn't believe how compact it was. After the modifications, this ride is surely going to kick ass. We then hopped on Cedar Creek, which gave a slower then usual ride but as always the head choppers made it a great ride. (7/10) After CCMR, we decided to take a swing on Skyhawk, one of the best bird rides Cedar Fair has. To occupy ourselfs for what would be the longest wait of the day (a mere 30 minutes) me and my brother tacked on a bird to the end of every ride in the park, as cedar fair really seems to dig their hawks. After that was all said and done, i really think CP should consider the Names of Gemihawk and Jr. Gemihawk. (yeah, we're cool). Anyway, Skyhawk was awesome and is still one of the best rides out there (10/10). We also saw Mr. Bill Spehn (Geauga Lake's GM) on the ride before4 us, and he didn't seem to enjoy his ride too much. I now know why he prefers GL as a water park. After a pleasant walk down Frontier Trail, we hit up Wildcat and Iron Dragon as there was no wait. Fun, but nothing to write home about, which was expected (7/10). We were then going to Take a ride on dragster but saw that it had broken down so we went over to Wicked Twister. WT has alluded me for years as i never get around to riding it or it is broken down, but i finally can say i have all operation coasters at Cedar Point under my belt. As for the ride, Steel Venom's launch is better, but the second trip up the back spike left SV in its dust. (8/10) We then had to ride Disaster Transport. This ride is so bad that it is almost good. However, all the lights were on in the line, a sure sign that Cedar Point truly has come to terms with the fact that they should stick to western themeing. Still a fun ride though (6/10). With 15 minutes till close (which was at 7:00) we figured we might as well get on Millie. I have to admit that Millennium Force has never been a favorite of mine, as i seem to like coasters that everybody hates and vice versa, but i got to say I had a great ride! We got floater air on all of the hills and it seemed to be going faster then it was at CoasterMania last year. Our on-ride photo was also a pleasant surprise, so we picked up two pictures. But the best part was the 25 minute wait. (10/10). Over All, one of my best days at The Point. I got on everything i wanted and had a blast at America's Rockin' Roller Coast, and all in under 3 hours!
  24. Wildcat was great, I am sorry i forgot to add that, but I found Storm Runner to be dull. I have a diffrent opinion on roller coasters, and on GL, GL is my homepark for one reason, and it is clean and friendly.
