New Knotts Berry Farm Commercials

Wes, I get the feeling you're trying to make a point, but I can't quite put my finger on it... -
Schlitterbahn announces Congo River Expedition

^They did a water screen already on Dragon's Revenge, so my guess is that they'll use it again here. -

Here is the animation for the attraction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nUERrLywoY&fmt=18 The embedded video isn't great quality, so I would suggest checking out the High Quality Video on YouTube -
Pretty sure all the coasters there are SBL (since the TR said there were SBL signs on all of them): * Loop&cork Screw Coster (their spelling, not mine) * Junior Coaster * Crazy Mouse On an unrelated but funny note, SBL also makes the American Adventure, where guests can shoot at Kangaroos, Cobras, Zebras, and other American wildlife.

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

I never did understand the concept in ride theming whereby simply riding the coaster you are fighting the bad guy somehow. See SWSD's Journey to Atlantis coaster as a prime example of how spectacularly this concept can fail. -
Disneyland Mark VII Monorail Discussion
ahecht replied to bflag's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wasn't doubting the authenticity of your photos. I was just surprised that Disney chose such a reddish orange for the monorail given that there is already a Monorail Red (and frankly, I'm surprised they went with orange at all given that the logical third color would be either yellow or green). -

Maybe it's just your camera, but it looks awfully red in those pictures. I would've expected it to look more like this photoshopped version: -
Dragon's Revenge - Schlitterbahn 2008
ahecht replied to Chadley's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's about weight distribution. 400lbs concentrated in the back of the raft is quite different from 400lbs spread between two people. -
I thought that the following episode of the reality/game show "Cha$e" would interest the theme park geeks here, since it involves the two teams being "hunted" through Universal Studios Hollywood. The show originally aired on SciFi, but you can get it on Hulu at http://www.hulu.com/watch/47928/chae-the-theme-park-10 It's actually pretty funny to watch if you know the park, as the editing is really sloppy. They'll show someone being chased by a hunter, but the hunter is running through City Walk while the person being chased is in front of the Simpsons ride.

Sorry to drag out an old thread, but I wanted to post a link to a POV I found of the ride that shows off the new projection effects: The cool stuff is in the last few seconds of the video. -
Hmm, it looks like http://www.lexcorpinternational.com/ exists too. These sites came from http://www.jimmystruth2power.com/ which is another in-game blog. On the security page I found the correct pictures, but then what? SPOILER (highlight to read): >>I tagged the picture in each that had a 2-digit number and the same person in it and it said "Facial Identity Match Found", but then what? Are the 2-digit numbers in each picture significant?<< What's the next step?

At least get your wacko theories straight. The Mayan Calendar ends in 2012, Nostradamus has nothing to do with it. Nostradamus was a philosopher and astrologer (fortune teller), not an astronomer (the telescope had not even been invented yet when he died). A mistranslation of Nostradamus supposedly predicted the Great Fire of London, not Chicago, and a correct translation showed it to be a commentary on the heretic burnings that were occuring at the time. The passage that supposedly predicted 9/11 was a complete internet fabrication -- Nostradamus never wrote them. The only thing correct in that entire post is the last sentence.

The fascades in the backlot area that they are rebuilding was primarily used for shooting, although as mentioned above the tram tour did pass through the streets that weren't currently being used for filming. What is NOT currently being rebuilt is the King Kong attraction (which was part of the Tram tour) which was hidden behind some of the New York facades and was also destroyed in the fire.

I missed this when it was originally put up, but on February 3rd the fictional "Clawshun Industries" created a new website at http://www.seetheride.com/ which has pictures of the SFNE S:RoS and SFGAdv Medusa construction. The site also claims both rides will open Memorial Day. There is also a new message on the Clawshun Industries home page:

Doing it selectively by region would violated the contest rules as laid out on the website (and therefore is a violation of federal law). However, unless they aren't done sending out emails, they seem to have screwed up majorly on this one. Me and my girlfriend signed up using different addresses within minutes of each other, but only I got an email. People I know that signed up after us also got emails. Has anyone recieved a "not a winner" email, or recieved a winning email today?

Six Flags Magic Mountain Terminator Salvation: The Ride

I got by Bag of Crap today too. Maps ranging from WDW's Magic Kingdom to Seoulland MagicLand. Interestingly, both parks have an Adventureland, Tomorrowland, and a Fantasyland (with a Tea Cups ride and a Flying Elephants ride). Thanks! -
That's not how markets work. If demand is down, prices go down to attract more buyers. Current example: housing. It's a valid point, but I disagree. Utilities went up for the first time in about 5 years here. Rumor has it, it's due to people using eco-bulbs that draw less wattage. Demand on the power grid is less, yet the rates are higher. You can either pretend to know better based on anecdotal data and rumors, or you can look at actual data. Check out the attached chart below:

Alton Towers Discussion Thread

That's not B&M track -- it's made by AMEC. It's the same style track that AMEC used to retrack Disneyland's Space Mountain:
