Hey my post was deleted, but I said you take some good pictures. Do you mind if I use one of them for a slideshow I'm making for my brother's physics class? I just want to ask. James "Please?" Dillaman -
Lift Hill With A View

I didnt know there is a difference... isnt the bay part of Lake Erie?...[/ quote] Isn't that like saying the Gulf of Mexico is part of the Atlantic? I think on a map it is listed as the bay of Sandusky, and the other side is listed as Lake Erie, it isn't a big deal, I just wondered, and did some researching. -James "To-MAY-to, To-MAH-to" Dillaman -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Nice, I agree: That drop looks like it's going to be quite something. Have they stated the speed of the LSM lift? If it doesn't slow you way down at the top, then there's going to be some insane airtime in the back seat of this beast. -James Dillaman -

I believe sandusky bay is on the left as you crest milennium force, but I could be wrong. Lake Erie is on the other side of the park, the Wicked Twister/Magnum side. And I agree on Hoosier Hurricane. Great view. -James Dillaman -

Knowing Cedar Fair, the construction will be well under-way before they announce anything. Look at Maverick, the new aquatrax-hybrid at CP. -James Dillaman -

^Going with the trend, it should have a vertical or over-vertical drop. All the other new coasters do... James "Wow that would be amazing" Dillaman -
Who else has ridden Insanity?

? I thought high roller was the only ride that was taken down. Are XScream and Insanity gone as well? -James Dillaman -
Intamin Rockets down?
jamesdillaman replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Um, Yes! TTD's been operating almost daily for a couple years. Sure it has it's downtime, but MF has been closed more this year than TTD has. -James Dillaman -
Dark rides at Cedar Point
jamesdillaman replied to live2tell75's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If Cedar Point ever does another darkride, It would have to be a larger capacity type, like Pirates at Disney or the like, for them to even consider it. I know that at many parks I go to, the darkride line is one of the longest in the park. This is compounded by the fact that there are almost NO rides at CP aimed towards families. They have coasters for kids, but adults and teens aren't really into them (Jr Gemini and Woodstock Express) and a kids area, but only the kids can ride there. On another note, does anybody know why they took the pirates ride out? It seems odd to just leave the building. How much of the building is intact and how much is used for a different purpose such as storage or something else? -James Dillaman -
TPR Hoodies are BACK!
jamesdillaman replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I guessed that, but when I checked the other page it still said they wouldn't be shipped until October, so I was just wondering. Thanks for clearing that up. Could use one here pretty soon, especially for hitting a park or two in the next couple months before they all close -James Dillaman -

^ When you say you're placing the orders early, does that equate into getting them shipped earlier, or not? -James "just wondering" Dillaman -
Better for the people on the ride that the train rolls back to a brake section before the hill than stops on the hill. You don't need to evac from the lift that way. We had to do an evac from the first lift on Beast once, and let me tell you, people were freaked out and we had to try hard to keep them all calm. The GP just doesn't like walking down lifthills. -James Dillaman

No they have hay bales at the end that you crash into. It's insane, but fun. I'll be sure to go this year and take some photos. -James Dillaman

Bailey is a great dog, he didn't even bark once the entire day. There was some barking, but for the most part we didn't see any problems. Most people with problem dogs know that they have a dog that doesn't do well around other dogs. The website encouraged "Obediant dogs only", and most people seemed to abide by that rule. There were no dogs on the slides of course, for safety reasons, but they were allowed to "dive" into the deep section of the wave pool from the side. I even got to go in after Bailey (with the guards permission, of course) and jump into the wave pool, which is normally not allowed. All the dogs who weren't swimming, and most of the dogs who were were all on leashes less than 8 feet long, so people could control them really well. The people who seemed to get the biggest kick out of the day seemed to be the children who got to get in the wavepool with all those dogs. Think about it: Where else can you swim with 50-75 dogs at a time? -James "I thought this Photo TR would turn out to be interesting" Dillaman

There were pugs there, and many small dogs were in the wave pool. They make life jackets for the dogs that keep them floating and upright, with enough freedom of motion for them to kick. I didn't get any pictures of them, but they had them for sale at one of the booths, and I believe even for a one-day rental. ^To answer your question, we didn't encounter any while we were there (we were there from 2-4:30, but we'd heard secondhand stories about seeing a floater or two, but they were handled professionally and promptly cleaned up. As I said, this was the very last day for the wave pool anyway, so after this it will be drained for the offseason. -James Dillaman

^^ Yeah, but the dogs were only in the wave pool area, so there were people on the various slides and in the other (heated) pool area (The Pearl), as well as the lazy river and the kids play areas. There were a LOT of dogs there, but the crowds on the slides, as you can see from the photos, was very minimal. Partially to blame is the fact that it WAS slightly chilly for waterpark fun. We had a blast, though, and I will definitely go again next year given the chance. -James Dillaman
