SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread
HAJiME replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Those images of Tatsu are slightly different. This image isn't for the public, It's not for making money, so it's okay to just rip anything off the net and "edit" it. It's only to show people within the company who are involved to help them visualize the project. The Tatsu images, which are actually S:UF, would have to be their own images. If it wasn't all the same company, they'd have to purchase them. -
SeaWorld Orlando (SWO) Discussion Thread

Yeah, they would. Or rather, design companies certainly do it. It's just being used to illustrate an idea to those concerned. It's a quick visual aid to help pitch the main concepts (A flying coaster, themed to a manta ray, with the main feature being the splash down and suggesting what sort of ground space they have to work with in terms of layout). There's nothing "cheap" about it. Why waste money when you don't have to? -
1. What do you find most useful about the front page? - Imagery. I can find the article I was after quickly. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? - The search function isn't brillient. If I'm searching the main site, why do I want links to stuff on the forums? 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? - No. 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? - As far as I see new stuff. 5. How often do you look at the front page? - Often. 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? - Never. 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? - Can't think of anything. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? - No.

The E stands for erly at Alton Towers doesn't it? When talking about annual pass holders and hotel guests privilidge to ride Air and Nemesis half an hour before the park opens. So, what's the s in ERS? I've always wondered that.

I'm not a fan of Drayton's. I rode it on Sunday, and it was better than i remember it being in '05.. but still not great. The restraint strangeling is such a huge issue, but my biggest problem is the lfithill - i think this one thus looks a lot better. I like the general concept of the things, they need work though. EDIT: Hm, watching the video.. i wonder if the lateral g problem is resolved - doesn't look like it. EDIT 2: And the hangtime looks gay.

This park actually looks so much bettter than my mental image made it out to be. What's the overall atmosphere like? Silver Bullet still looks appauling, though. It's colour scheme tops off the icing on the cake and it's location in the park seems really intrusive and ...out of place? It's worrying when a B&M visually ruins the skyline. -

I think you should ask your doctor for a detailed account of what could possibly trigger it on a ride so you have the knowledge behind you when you consider certain rides. -

Screamin' Swing ftw! The rest can all die. -

No they don't. I should know, i spend more time watching it than i do riding it. If this was the case, i'd go on it more often because i'd know which seats to sit in... But it doesn't sit back in it's original positioning. It's crap. -

Dodonpa does 59mph per second. 0-107 in 1.8 seconds. Now, that's fast. -

I think i worked out HXLC to be like 44mph per second. But the park wouldn't blatently lie, would they? Could they? Tim, go ask your Intamin friend person. -

What?! BUU! I wanted to go on Christmas eve and New Years Day just to say i had. >:C But yeah, they've realised only enthusiasts will come. And they've grown some brains and realised that training their staff to deal with hundreds of angry enthusiasts on Christmas eve is just gunan cost way too much. In psychiatric funds. -

Not a fan of flat rides. I've been on Thorpe's shamefull reject, Lightwater Valley's deathly claw (both afterburners? i dunno...) and Dryaton Manors Malestrom. (not a clue what these are called). Oh, and a fairground one somewhere which was tiny and meh and whatever. (i think it was a freakout?) Thorpe's can die and go to hell. It's pathetic, useless, it's cycle sucks, it's tiny, it's a waste of space and for some reason always has a long queue. And it makes me feel sick. Antyhing that is boring AND sickly, must be burned. Lightwater Valley's was so impossibly intense. I have never felt so i'll in all my life. I don't like flat rides, but if you do then this thing is amazing. It spins soo much, the cycle goes on forever and it stops and starts, spins in every which way and generally is a vomit machine of death. I don't like it, but i know it's good for what it is... type thing. Drayton Manors thing with the outside seating was so boring. Everyone was saying it was amazing... what the hell? It was lame. I'm sure the huge versions of Malestrom are fun, but nothing more. Screaming Swing please. -

Speed's overbanked turn around was vile. I think it's the trains that are the problem here, not the track and layout. The track work on these things is hardly good, but the fault is with the flexibility of the trains. They seem to struggle with turns and become jolty and unplesent when they turn. Speed's drop, airtime hill and loop were fine. No rattles or jerking. The restraint's don't help. They are reminiscent of the Vekoma SLC OTSRs. They have extra bits digging into the sholders. Not what you want on a coaster with tones of ejector air, now is it? What this pov of rage and listen to the horendous noises it makes. -

Well, Stealth used to launch from 0-80 in 2.3. RCDB has changed the info on Stealth's page to 0-80 in 1.9... I would have thought you could feel that difference. But it definately did not feel any different on Saturday the 10th. I know people who've ridden TTD and Stealth and say Stealth's launch felt more intense, so if they can notice a difference of 6mph per second you'd be able to notice the difference of 7mph per second... right? Please correct me if i'm wrong, but if Stealth really does now do 0-80 in 1.9 secs, it's the fastest accelerating intamin accelerator in the world? Stealth (1.1) - 42 Kingda Ka - 37 Storm Runner - 36 Xcelerator - 36 Stealth (old) - 35 Zaturn - 35 Superman Escape - 31 Top Thrill Dragster - 30 Desert Race - 26 Speed Monster - 25 Rita - 24 Furious Baco - 24 Skycar - 19 (increase in miles per hour per second *estimate*) Either they havn't upgraded it yet, or it's marketing lies. -

Rage sounds awful. I had high hopes that this would be smoother than Speed, less rattly and thus less painful. Listening to the vile noises it makes on the pov Mushroom took makes me realise that it is none of those things. Ejector air made Speed good, but after an impressive first start the turn around removed any enjoyment factor away from the ride. The inversions were forceless and pointless and the helixes were to intense and rather sickly. Speed had no flow, despite being incredably fast, was jerky and unplesent. It seems that Rage is even worse. I'll find out in June. -

Gosh, sorry i upset so many people with this topic. Didn't realise it would be considered spammish... I went to TP yesterday - Stealth felt no different. Dunno what i was expecting though, to be honest. -
Une petit chien. Actually she's 9. A mutt (none of this inbreed, rubbish, expencive breeding in this house) and her name is Kizzy. I also have two cockatiels. Here's Dexter with Kizzy. Kizzy's scared of him. And this is Oatis. And then there's the pond... Which has about 50 fish. Mostly silly expencive koi my mum's bf bought, but many of the koi and the goldfish are hand me downs from owners who cannot keep them anymore. The range from about 4 inches to just over a foot at the moment.
