I always thought the second launch was in the trench. The first launch must be right out of the station, maybe a little airtime right off the platform. I am very curious to see how the launches will be operated, if the cars will slow or be Boosted. I very much wanted a Tophat but the tower element is looking promising. Cheetaka is officially Florida's best coaster.

By mis-speaking I allowed myself to be mis-quoted, meant to say Maverick and Storm Runner. I can see the Baco comparison, so glad we are not getting those trains. Baco looks quite fun to me but I love Maverick's trains and that's what I would like to see on Cheetaka. This will be another great coaster for sure That was fast. Maybe they will have to install some track earlier than we thought.

These videos are going to be fun, they revealed a lot of info in the first one. I love the color of the track and the look of the trenches. The layout is already looking cool with a fast pop of airtime. The last airtime hill on Maverick is awesome. I bet Intamin took what was good on Maverick and Fahrenheit to create Cheetaka. Plus the figure 8 element will be something brand new. Cheetaka is officially Florida's best coaster

Well said! It looks like a great addition to the park! It is going to look amazing. Parks adding anything right now should be commended. -

I can't for the life of me understand what Funtime is upset about. I mean it's only exactly like their ride. Running a different program of course. -

"If you wanna be the man, you gotta beat the man" Whew!!" Saw Rick Flair on Space Mountain. I saw Mr T almost fall off Der Stuka And like 5 years ago I ran in to the Alveys at Islands of Adventure. I was with my nieces and only spoke to Robb for long enough to tell him I loved and appreciated this site. I only saw Elissa from behind and might have checked out her butt.

The Star Flyer in Orlando is Pretty fun, not a blast IMO. I can't see Cedar Point getting the Funtime version though. It will have to be something different. A Star Flyer out by the lake on a windy day would only be fun if you wanted to feel at all times that death was a real possibility. Trust me, I love flats and on a windy day our Star Flyer is a real white knuckle experience. Not very fun and not re-rideable for me. I do take people who have never been just for the OMFG factor. A modern version of the Jets is maybe a closer guess. I don't see actual planes but more along those lines than a chain held basket. I would love to see it travel up and down the tower faster than SF. That logo however does look exactly like a Star Flyer -

Skydivers are great. That Kissimmee Skycoaster will put a little jolt in ya. -

This same thing happened to my cousin on the Flying Daredevil at Circus World. Oddly we thought it was funny at the time. He and these people were both lucky to not be badly hurt. Soooo many problems with rides lately. -
Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa

I hope you have a nice time. Don't be turned off on Gwazi. It is rough but I never had a bad ride in the front car. Hop in the very front bench and it should be fun. Again, if you don't want your back and skull jack-hammered to death ride the very front bench. Kumba is so great it makes me smile to know it is pretty again. Do what Robb said. Montu is one of the best coasters in the world IMO, the very front at night will make you a better person. Sheikra is great fun. I prefer the back car, the drop is way more fun from there. If you can only ride one coaster in the front have it be Montu. Cheetah chase is being replaced by something way more cheetahy. I hate the ride, I see no reason for it's existence. For a theme park show, Katonga is pretty good. Laury landing is a fun experience, you have nectar and the birds come to drink. It's the type of thing thats easy to miss but I think it's fun. The train ride through the sarengeti can be real cool at around sunset. Pick a time of day thats more comfortable for you and more animals will be out to see. Stay as late as you can. Busch Gardens is a lot of fun at night. -
Why is IOA's attendance so low?
dragonskeep replied to ansley's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
IOA is my home park. I have been a season pass holder since the beginning . It has been a disappointment for a long time. I go out for a coaster fix from time to time but don't stay for more than a few hours. I used to love to take people who had not been, but not anymore. I find myself saying stuff like, this used to be real cool, or, I wish you could have come 6 years ago. The staff has gotten bad. I wont blame some kid for not creating a fun atmosphere, I will blame their boss. I am probably in the minority here but I think both of the recent additions to UO and IOA have been a disappointment. The overflow line for Potter( which goes all the way to Toon Lagoon) is actually marked with masking tape on the ground. That's just tacky. The ride is good and obviously popular, It's just not great and I was expecting great. When I went to Potter it seemed like they didn't have quite enough space or quite enough money. The Dueling Dragons queue is a joke, there I said it, you took something iconic and made it suck great job. I can't believe they didn't change the bodywork on the trains, or at least paint the track. The audio is just lazy. Mentioning the Qudditch world cup in the queue for Dragons is just dumb. The good: The events at The Studios are what keep me a pass holder. I love Mardi Gras and HHN. The summer concert series was cool too. Train was just awesome. If you ever have a chance you should see them. -

I have never seen that, looks cool. I am confused however, isn't that just like Baco? It will have to launch as well. If you can build something that similar why doesn't everyone build B&M style inverts? That being said X-Raptor looks killer so far. -

Screamscape posted a rumor about an Intamin version of the Funtime Starflyer being The Point's new ride. The one here in Orlando scares the crap out of everyone I have taken on it, try it on a windy day for some real fun. I haven't ever seen it that busy. During the first month of opening I spoke to one of the owners who said most people were not willing to try Starflyer but were riding the 300 foot Slingshot. When I rode for the first time I was alone on the ride with a pretty big crowd watching. It just gives you a very uneasy feeling. I know some people love them and I do still ride, just not sure if I am having fun or not. I think Intamin could build a nice version, basically more drop tower than the existing Starflyer. Just make the ride vehicle something other than a basket. -

El Toro is a special kind of fun, I absolutely loved it. I would prefer to get more of a throwback feel. Dream case would be a beachside "Cyclone" and Boardwalk project. The Boardwalk could have other attractions added in the future like maybe a fun house themed dark ride, again build it like a modern classic. You could add some small flats, a Toft's, and that old french fry stand, and you're in buisness. -

I love the idea of Cedar Point building a new Cyclone. It really would be awesome to do a modern classsic type woodie and a boardwalk area. I am fairly positive at this point it will be a beachside woodie at least. -

Eric's Wizarding World of Harry Potter Thread
dragonskeep replied to live2tell75's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
The Wizarding World was open today until about 12:30. I got there early but I don't do the whole stampede thing so I took the Jurassic Park route, quite a nice stroll actually. I didn't see another person until...I was turned around by security and told the preview was for hotel guests only. I wouldn't argue with the guy but I really hoped he was wrong, sure enough a long walk back around the park and I strolled into Hogsmeade. The place looks great and it would be hard to find inadequacies with it theming wise. The area at night is going to be phenomenal, I loved Lost Continent at night so I am happy about that. I can say I had butterbeer once, and only once. It's been said before that the shops are small and they are indeed small, very small. The merchandise looks like it will sell well if folks get a chance to look at it. I can see them forming lines for the shops like they do at the wand shop. I hope the staff can remain as friendly as they were today, they were great! Forbidden Journey is a great ride. If you don't go into it expecting to find God you will have a nice time. Having the queue be a part of the attraction is an awesome idea that a theme park genius had. The ride vehicles are the next great thing in dark rides. Speaking of dark rides, how bout having Forbidden Journey and Spiderman in your park. Forbidden Journey will take the top spot for a while. Hippogriff was really done well and the views are awesome. Perhaps a must ride at night in the summer, beer helps it be a better ride. There was something else to ride but I seem to have blocked it from my mind. I hope they take all the money they are going to make and build a nice poppy little Intamin. Look 100 posts. Do I get a TPR bag-o-crap?
