I’m no expert but a company wouldn’t make the track if it hadn’t already been paid for or some sort of massive deposit was put down. I’m guessing the money has been set aside for this project and will move forward! Also, this is assuming that those pics are legit, which is also very possible they aren’t. Although I’m convinced they’re real!!

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

^This. I wouldn't see them completely scrapping the season because the new entry isn't ready. Their temporary setup that they've had since the start of last season is perfectly fine in the interim. So you’re saying that if Covid never happened the park would not open the entire year because their new entrance isn’t ready???? No, that's not even remotely close to what I'm saying. How did you manage to come up with that based off the words I typed? Not you or your quote... I was talking about cparks92 comment. -

If the new entrance isn't ready, I assume they'd just use the temporary entrance like they did last year. ^This. I wouldn't see them completely scrapping the season because the new entry isn't ready. No, you’re just hating on SFMM to hate. It’s ok, but it’s old and tired. Get a new thing to “try” and bash on. -

They only have one parking lot coaster and that’s Scream. Colossus and part of X were both built over old parking lots, too. Goliath, Twisted Colossus, Scream, X2, and to a less extreme extent Batman and Apocalypse, as well. Those last two aren't built over the original parking lot, at least, but they are both over flat pavement or gravel with next to no environmental elements. Riddler at least has a ton of trees throughout. If the parking lot is demolished and bulldozed then it’s not considered a parking lot coaster or attraction. If it’s built directly over a parking lot like Scream and Medusa at Discovery Kingdom then it’s a parking lot coaster. According to your thinking, Indiana Jones at DL is a parking lot attraction and all of DCA is a parking lot park. -

With the turn out of the station it will already be longer than Jersey Devil, so might as well make it 5 -10 feet taller and bam you have the tallest, fastest, longest single rail coaster. The perfect fit for their 50th anniversary. Also, I can 100% see this being themed to Joker with the big Joker head on the front of the train just like Discovery Kingdom’s Joker. I think it will be a slam dunk for the park, I just hope it doesn’t get delayed. The one promising thing is Magic Mountain is their flagship park, so if anything new is coming next year it would be to them. With so much unknown right now we will just have to wait and see!

Quick question about drinking alcohol in the park. I only know of two designated places to buy and drink alcohol and that’s the full throttle bar and the beer garden by justice league. Are these the only two places you can drink in the park?? If so, where could you drink before as both of these were built in the last 7 years?

I’m really surprised by this announcement. A couple of summers ago we had season passes to Aquatica and enjoyed it. I was always hoping for more additions but they never came (besides taumata racers). As far as being landlocked they do have a couple of decent size parcels that are undeveloped. I attached a photo for reference. It will be interesting to see where this park goes as it grows and hopefully expands. Here’s hoping for oscars wacky taxi!

Screamscape reported a possible rumor that tidal wave may be removed and the park could add a Mack power splash in its place as well as the green lanterns old spot. When I first heard about Aquaman going to Over Texas I thought that SFMM would replace green lantern with one. It makes more sense that tidal wave would have to be involved as well as it looks as though they do take up a large amount of space. I would be happy if this comes true as they look like a great water ride and SFMM could definitely use another one.

Today I visited CGA for the first time. I was very excited for this park and pumped it would be free to get in with my platinum pass(Knotts) but knew I had to get a Fastlane pass. At first I was a little upset because the park was not that busy and thought I wasted $160 for me and my girlfriend to get one. But it paid off immensely for one reason and one reason only.... Railblazer!!! I’ll get into that in a second, but first thoughts were it was a nice park but lacking rides. I just visited SFDK the day before and felt that park had a lot more big and good rides. This park just felt lacking in the ride department. I know from history that it was a paramount park and It did not seem reminiscent of that really at all. Let’s get into the rides. Railblazer is AMAZING!!! Maybe the one of the best I’ve ever been on. I’ve been on steel vengeance and maverick and this one might have a fighting chance against them. The only reason why those beat this is because they’re longer. Other than that this ride kicks your ass, literally!! The airtime hill after the dive loop is the best hill I’ve ever experienced, so fast and hard hitting you don’t know what just happened. And it doesn’t end there, the relentlessness is unreal. For a prototype I’m in awe. It gets me so excited for the future, and honestly I don’t think the jersey devil will be better. It poses the question, what park will shell out the probably $40 million to build the first giga T-Rex?? Whoever does will no doubt have the best coaster in the world. Back to railblazer, it’s just an absolute crazy amazing ride and made my fastlane purchase so worth it. Me and my girl literally rode it over 15 times and wanted more!!! 10/5 Goldstriker was pretty good. I’ve head a lot of great reviews on this ride but those were also when it first debuted. Now it’s just rough, straight up. My brain rattled the whole ride and honestly it was pretty unpleasant. I wish I rode it it the heyday because the layout and laterals are really good. I’m going to say it apocalypse is better... yup fight me!!! Look, GCI makes amazing rides they just don’t hold up. And also I’m a HUGE Ghostrider fan and I’ve heard people say this ride is better in which I don’t agree. If GCI could just figure out how to make their rides last longer they’d be one of the best(their retrack of ghostrider has been been A+ so far). 3/5 Flight Deck was actually great. I loved it and feel it’s very underrated(or maybe it’s not, just never hear anything about it). It’s the second B&M invert ever and I thought it packed a very nice punch. 4/5 That basically ends the ride reviews. That’s my only negative to this park is that there’s so few big rides. The park is very clean and nice but just lacking on rides. If they RMC’d grizzly (which I think has a very RMC’able layout) and added the long rumored hyper this park can be really good. In the meantime Railblazer is the one reason to check this place out and that’s about it. If you disagree please let me know and why!!! Otherwise you’re just going to walk out of here with a big headache (I’m looking at you patriot, demon, grizzly and goldstriker)

Well I finally visited this park and I have a few thoughts, take them as you wish. I did purchase the gold flash pass (amazing idea) and got to ride everything multiple times! The ride section of the park was pretty darn good, a lot of variety and let’s be honest the Joker is an amazing ride! I’ve been on twisted colossus and steel vengeance and thought it was not as good as those but still an amazing ride!! I could ride it over and over and not ever get bored. The other amazing ride was Wonder Woman but that was also my first giant frisbee and has me extremely excited for Crazanity! Also loved Superman even though I had ridden electric eel at SWSD I thought this one was better. Maybe the station being fully enclosed and no comfort collars made it better not sure but loved it. Batman was my first freefly and was kind of disappointed with it to be honest, maybe I just got bad rides but I was one of those who actually liked green lantern and thought that was more intense and more fun. Overall I give it a 3/5. Kong was as expected a very rough and painful experience. It did have some good moments but I was in so much pain I don’t really remember where or when they were. I’m sure we’ve all heard this before. The good news is, this ride is on a nice plot of land that they can tear this crappy unpopular ride down and put a new coaster in (praying for a new customs single rail) 2/5 Medusa was was actually better than I thought it would be. I could tell it was built in the old six flags days when theming kind of mattered, the queue and station house were legit, reminded me of Goliath. I really hope six flags gets back to that point because it really does bring an extra something to a ride. 3/5 Now here’s my gripe with the park, and I’m sure this has been said a million times. The animal section is horrible. Now before I get into that let me preface it by saying I’m from San Diego and we have the best zoo quite arguably in the world and Seaworld. I literally felt bad for all of the animals there, it was the first time I’ve ever felt that way. The shows, the exhibits were just sad. My question is why is six flags continuing with this?? The answer in my head is they have special zoning laws where they can only build tall rides near the front of the park and hence if they get rid of all the animals 75% of the land is useless for a them park. Overall, I did have a really good time at the park. They have tons of rides and most of them pack a good punch in one way or another. I just did not like the animal section at all and I’m sure others feel the same. If not let me know!!!
