You would think that this area could be on the chopping block for a new ride. You have to consider this first.. that waterfall is amazing and ripping it out would be a huge mistake! Next Knott’s just spent a good chunk of money renovating the bathrooms directly next to the old exit of mystery lodge. And to the guy asking about mystery lodge… it’s gone bro, probably for at least 5 years.

It’s possible that Cedar Fair would invest in Knott’s right now because of its close proximity to Disneyland and it’s their most attended park. In addition, all of the So Cal parks are getting major additions over the next couple years. Knott’s is the only park without anything slated for them at the moment……

Saw this image floating around and of course taking it with the smallest grain of salt. The only place I can see a B&M of any kind fitting at Knott’s would be the station starting back behind Ghostrider and then the ride would venture around either the parking lot in front of the Knotts Hotel or behind it. With that being said I think a hyper would work best because it could travel a good distance and wouldn’t take out too much land.

Awesome report! As a native Southern Californian and still living here, SFMM is all we really have when it comes to big thrills. The park has definitely had its ups and downs over the years but I still love going there. I’m about the same age as you and have all the same nostalgic feels. I remember my parents taking me there as a very young child when Viper was new and my mind being blown. Although I couldn’t ride anything I was so intrigued by what I saw and knew I wanted to come back over and over. When I finally got to ride coasters like Batman, colossus and viper I was instantly hooked. I know everyone likes to bash on SFMM mainly because it’s easy too, but at the same token it’s one of the most talked about parks in the country good or bad. I think they’re on a nice path now and with the addition of the RMC single rail their coaster collection will get a nice boost in quality! -

It could be possible it was a typo, but if you click the link to view the ride, 2022 is stated THREE more times on that page. -

I’ll hold my judgements until I actually ride the ride but the A/R makes me nervous as well. When I think of a ride that’s supposed to be racing I think of actually going fast(radiator springs racers), not simulated fast. We know how that turned out with another Universal ride (fast and furious). If this is a slow moving ride like MIB with A/R and other gimmicks to make you feel like you’re going fast I think it will be a huge disappointment. I could be totally wrong and I hope I am but when I heard Mario Kart ride and saw how massive the show building is, I had something completely different in mind. Here’s hoping I’m completely wrong and eat my words!!!

I would agree on the Seaworld/Busch thing but they did add them to West Coast Racers at SFMM as well. -

The Ice Breaker animated POV looks pretty good, I think it will have a good amount of airtime and may be a surprise hit! With that being said can someone PLEASE explain to me why Premier insists on putting the comfort collars on every new ride???? It literally makes no sense considering rides like full throttle and Superman Ultimate Flight don’t use them and it works perfectly. In fact I thought Ultimate flight was a way better experience than Electric Eel mainly because of the collars. This ride doesn’t even go upside down and they’re still putting them on there. SMH -
Screamscape posted a picture of the progress on Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway and it looks like construction is moving right along. The show building looks massive and it’s great to see in the midst of everything that’s going on Disney is moving full steam ahead on this project. After all the fallout from being closed for over a year after this is all said and done Micky and Minnies may be the only new attraction we see at DLR for a long long time! I really hope that the new Avengers E ticket for California Adventure doesn’t get the Axe!! http://screamscape.com/html/disneyland.htm

Man, that theming and attention to detail is amazing!! I’ve never been to this park but it seems to be a rare park that competes with Disney in terms of theming. Who owns this park?? They have some DEEP pockets!
