  3. When I was there last April the whole place was closed. Trains were on the track but looked like they were stored for the winter. No knowing Any Japanese I was unable to find if it was goin o open at all. I have photos of the signs posted arounf the mall so if anyone can read Japanese, let me know and I will post them. ^ I agre it was the only place I felf uneasy and I spent 10 days in Japan on my own.
  4. Hi, I have a panasonic camera similar to yours. I bouht a battery that lasts around 7 hours. I will get the details of it tomorow and let you know. The only time i have run it flat was at Tokyo Disneyland!.
  5. ^ Ahh also a good point. ^^^ will it cost any more to ship them out to Dubai?
  6. Ahh, what a good idea will sort that out. thanks
  7. Hi, Sorry if I have missed it somewhere else, but I was just wondering if you had any Tshirts left? Also, I cant get a paypal account because Dubai is not one of their allowed countries. Is there any other way i can pay? cheers
  8. ^ The name is supposed to be Blizzard, i think. ^^ when the train (boat) Goes through the doors there is a long indoor section. The kids said there were a couple of bad dinasaour models and lots of sound effects. They were literaly in the insid bit for ten minutes so I`m sure there must be something else going on in there, next time I can borrow some young enough kids I will go on it and film the inside bit.
  9. Actually I wasnt being sarcastic, I really like the way you reply to most people who take the time to post photo reports.
  10. Sören you are so nice
  11. I rode the coaster too, and while the front was not too bad, the ride in the second to last row, the last row was taped off!, was the most painfull coaster I have ever ridden. The fact that the train stays on the tracks amazes me. It definatly needs a bit of looking after. There arn`t many `real` credits, ie. not powered, here i Dubai at the moment so I ride all I can.
  12. The Lodge is a restaurant and leisure complex in Dubai, they do the best Friday Brunch in town. Al Nasr Leisure land is part of the same complex and has an ice rink, bowling and a small kiddie park out the back. Here are the pics, As usual there was no one else there, luckily I was able to borrow some kids for the visit. Enjoy. One last shot for the Anoraks! aha a real credit. More fruit This place has seen better days And the door opens very slowly The train (bat) Stops At this door This is a boat shaped train ride run on petrol! More fruit themed rides Camel rides Bumper cars For you antiques fans They really do mean a fruit garden. lets go outside Bowling Strange, Live fishing game Ice Rink
  13. Load and bright, here in Dubai.
  14. ^ Thanks for that I completely missed it. Wally, get some geography lessons.
  15. It was made by a company here called select contracts. here are some details from them "We designed and built the Komet in 1997 when Encounter Zone was built specifically for that site, it is a gravity fed sky coaster so only has the 7ft uplift at the start and the rest is managed by gravity. Quite an engineering feat."
  16. thanks again. I have just got a copy of Autoroute and it ists all the parks so I rekon I can narrow it down a bit. cherrs
  17. Wow, fantastic Pictures. I am so desperate to tour some of the States at some point.
  18. At the risk of sounding dreadfully international. Are they in America?
  19. I have found the better pics. Same stuff just looks a bit nicer. Enjoy.
  20. Here are some pics from Encounter Zone at the Wafi Mall in Dubai. As usual I will let the photos do most of the talking here. If you have any questions let me know. They have a Crystal Maze, based on the UK TV show and a kiddie fl yer called Komet, sadly it was closed. That's your lot for now, somewhere I have some better quality pics and will post them when I find them. Thanks for readind. The rest of these pics are from the crystal maze. This area has lots of simulators and games. The Tomb, is a horror walk through with live actors. The other side is for older children The "Dip your hand in wax" was popular today. When it opened this was the longest indoor slide in the world, so they claimed. Lunar land is for younger kids. You used to enter the station up these stairs. Not very good pic, but the track dips through the rock facade here. Here you can see the track on the roof The Komet was closed, the ride op said they were fazing it out because it was too old. Encounter Zone consists of Lunar land and Galaxy Land, separated by a food court, No McDonald's here though. Going Up. Encounter Zone is on the top floor of one of the many extensions at Wafi City.
  21. Thanks for all your help. I think I might have to hire a car. I will see how cheap they are. Also what about accomodation? Does anyone have advice about whether or not to stay at the parks or outside? thanks again
  22. Definitely EPCOT, until I visited Disneysea!!
  23. Here's the Deal, I am planning a Europe trip for August this year. I will be picking my son up at Heathrow then taking two weeks to hit some European parks then back to Heathrow. The big question is, Which parks should I hit? Which Countries? We would like to do the trip by public transport so this might limit the parks we can get to. I had sort of thought, Belgium, Germany and either Sweden or Holland. Does that sound feasible? Of course if anyone would like to meet up, or find out where we will be so you can avoid us, that would be great. Any help is aprieciated. The furthest I have been into Europe is DLP so I am at a bit of a loss.
  24. If they sell all the bits, we are building the tallest building in the world here in Dubai, That would be pretty mad.
