Shepp, I wondered how long it would take you to spot that one, without wnting tostart a flame war, homosexuality is illeagal in Dubai and evryone who comes here knows that. -

Having lived here for 10 years when ever I go back to the UK I am Shocked by the way people dress and their general lack of respect. I think it is very easy to be critical of the middle east and Islamic principals, and indeed was before I lived here, but I have never felt safer anywhere else in the world And have never been anywhere that acepts other cultures as much as they do here in Dubai. -

I have to say that is all correct, however it really does work for them. If you are not a national you MUST have a job to live here. They really look after the locals and make sure that their customs and values stay top proirity in their country, smething I wish my native England would do. -

Here are a few pics of Ski Dubai. All are taken from the viewing gallery. Maybe this was a snowball? that's all for now. The place has only been open a week and already the glass is cracking The chair lift goes to the beginner slope. When open, the whole slope will be 400 Metres. Can I claim this as a credit? This is the bobsled track. -

^^^ Crime is virtually non existent. Several houses have been broken into in the last few months and that has led the papers here to declare an epidemic of crime. It is a very free society. you can only by alcohol in Hotels or from the booze shop if you have a license. you can walk around the streets at night and not be worried. Women will be stared at by the Indian labourers bit will very rarely get hassles as long as they are sensibly dresses. overall I love the place. -

^^ The people were not there because it was Saturday morning and most people are back to work and all the schools are in. If I had gone on a Thursday night you would not have been able to move in the place. ^ The Frisbee does look fantastic. According to the leaflet it is the first one inside, not too sure about that claim. -

Part 2 Here's a shot of the Mall itself. that's all for now. Pretty cool and long but making a loud clanking noise. On the way out I decided to leave by the exit I was not allowed to com in. Inside I found a rotating star tunnel. That's nearly $7 a ride. It is there, just lurking around a corner out of the way. This is how the color looks before processing Hang on I came here to see the Robocoaster -
I took a quick walk around the new Magic Planet FEC at Mall Of The Emirates. Its only been open a week and, as usual, was very quiet when I went. These pics are all VidCaps so the quality isn't brilliant and the lighting in the place make it very difficult to get a good shot. Here we go. and the usual restaurants They also have bowling Its not open yet I wonder what this guy is working on? The main rides area For kids, of course. and a really cool DDR clone They do have the drum game though. and there are LOTS of them The usual array of machines Once inside it doesn't look to promising ... a McDonald's. This mall is so big they have 2. They even have a roundabout in the food court. and..... So I took the main entrance through the food court The guard would not let me in that way though. This is the entrance you see when coming from the car park

BPB Alice soundtrack
dubaidave replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have always wanted a copy since I used to go as a kid. I once had a copy of the cuckoo waltz on LP played on Hammond organ that sounded very similar. The thing that got me started was stumbling across the music from the river caves on a cheap tape I bought on Skipton market. I really like the idea of a RCT recreation. Do you know if there are any on ride videos floating around? cheers -
Does anyone have a copy of the soundtrack that played, maybe still plays, outside the Alice in Wonderland ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach? It was the cuckoo waltz and a voice saying Hi, I am Alice, or something like that. I know its a long shot but was just wondering if it was available anywhere. Cheers

Sureley, Soren, you should know that already.

sorry, didn't mean to be creepy. Just that on the earlier pics she definitely doesn't but then on one of the pics from Europe it looks like she does. Only curious. nothing perverted.

?Does Elissa have a pierced Belly Button?

Because its Ramadan this month, nothing opens till after sunset. You are not able to eat or drink in the street during Ramadan so everyone just stays home. After sunset they all go mad and party all night.

My last visit to Epcot was accompanied by huge groups of teenage Spaniards. Shouting and screaming, pushing and shoving. It really put a damper on EPCOT. They were all dressed the same and had flags. Most did not speak English and were just plain rude. Has anyone else seen these people, maybe I just went on a bad day but there were hundreds of these groups all around the park.
