Thanks for your kind words guys. Here are the pics from Wonderworld and a couple I forgot to post from Siam Park City Here is the view from our hotel. Dream World next. The cars are air conditioned There was some sort of Pepsi offer on You can now, at least, get up to the Ferris wheel Inside doesnt look much better They still haven't built a station At least they have finished the track This test car was in exactly the same place it was 1 year ago You can see some of the cable hanging down in this photo As have the big cable drums that would have launched the 2 coasters The launch cable had been removed And talking of the coasters. The main change is that the area under the coasters has been made into a go kart track Although I did think that last time I visited It looks like it could be quite nice when finished It is a really hard park to explain The Malaria ride was still closed This park is ran by the same people that run Pattaya Funny Park. These towers look almost home made. Both times I have been the parks seems almost closed I cant think of a suitable caption for this one. Wonder World is quite strange ..... BOOBS!! It was not too exciting, but it had.......... They use real jeeps I forgot we rode the Jurassic Park ride. I took film on it but it was not very exciting

Last part for Siam Park City Coming next is Wonder World, With 2 coasters that have never run! It looks like it was hastily demolished The Indiana Log had an accident last year that killed a couple of people. Not all the areas were nice On they way out I was attacked by this monster But the animals didn`t look too happy It was nicely done. This is what looked like a coaster from the tower ride This bridge led to a small zoo

One of the new rides was an observation tower. So hers some great aerials. The inside of the tower had some nice construction Photos. The park map shows some of the expansions I thought this looked like a coaster This is for the new, African adventure They are expanding the park again

I have to say that in the year since I last visited this park they have made massive improvements. Several of the old rides have been removed and all the coasters and rides that were in the car park have been installed. Just for the record, the SLC was easily as good as Infusion, if not better, and had the added benefit of no wait and you could stay on if you wanted. Warning, the next few pics are a little geeky. They even have 2 trains And it was really smooth The SLC looks really nice This ride has never been open, both times I have visited. And made us both feel sick Except to say it hurt like hell Not much more top say about it It was, well, a Boomerang First up, the boomerang. I think this was advertising the Jurassic Park ride.

At the beginning of April we went to Thailand. I will let the photos do the talking. Again I need to thank my long suffering freind, David, for allowing me to drag him around theme parks in 99% humidity, and for graciously wearing the TPR Tea shirt. Enjoy. We will move into the park in the next installment There were some coaster cars, but no track. These are the surviving logs from the flume of death Lat year it was coasters in the parking lot, but this year, it was more flats. And it didn`t disappoint this time either If anyone saw my trip report last year, you will know that the main draw of this park was rides in the parking lot, ready to be assembled. The first park in Bangkok was Siam Park City. It also boasted the most impressively themed toilets I have ever seen They had a very colorful black lit games area Phuket Fantasea was quite interesting. On the flight from Bangkok to Phuket we saw the coaster at Pattaya.

Yeah, I've heard that but I don't know how long ago it was, I don't remember it!! There used to be several I think, pretty sure the one near Oakwood is the last one now! I really want to go back to Oakwood, I loved both the park and the Maze when I went with the TPR lot in '06, but it's just such a pain in the arse to get to.... especially without a car. There is still one in Dubai http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21590&highlight=crystal+maze

Anyway at least it should be fairly quiet as all the Americans will not come because they think we live in Saudi Arabia and will all get bombed or flogged and made to wear Bhurkas in public. On a more serious note. The drugs laws here are very strict. If you have any amount on you you will be jailed for 4 years. That is the law. Obey it or do not come here. Its very simple really. Groovrider was an a$$hole about it and deserved everything he has got. I love the fact that Dubai respects its country enough to tell you to obey the law or be arrested. I wish my own country had followed their lead years ago

Has anyone been to Phuket?
dubaidave replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Erm... ^^ You actually say Poo Ket which is still quite funny. -
Hello, On my quest to find the least well known theme parks I have noticed that Phuket is listed as having the Patong Horror show and Phuket Joyland. For the horror show it says its the largest Horrror House in Asia but I cant seem to find any more details. As for Phuket Joyland, I believe it is at the same place as the cable ski, but that's all I know. I am going there over Easter so any help would be fantastic. Cheers Dubaidave

I will post a few more pics of the model and inside the sales centre then will answer some of the questions. You exit through a nicely themed tunnel. Restless Planet will be the first park finished in mid 2009 The interior is well themed as well Here's a close up of the King Kong Roller Coaster in Universal Studios. We move away from the main model This looks familiar. -

Here are some pics inside the sales centre and of the huge model More to come soon Wood Aviation City This is the sales centre Jolly Jolly. This is actually a hotel that makes up part of the AL Bawadi development These are general close ups from the model. If I know what an individual project is I will name it. If there is no caption then I do not know what the project is. -
I finally managed to get up to the Dubailand sales Centre the other day and took loads of pics. Here is a taster of what is to come at the wonderful world of Dubailand. Ready to go inside and check out the model? Check back very soon for that update. These tigers are from Dubai zoo. They have a much better life here A couple of the promised Tiger Shots. No, The track is just for show Could this be the very first POV shot from Dubailand? Still outside The car park is looking pretty good. This is the first time I have been through these gates when the place is open.

^ Ah that sound slightly familiar. Unfortunately the it was so hot in the line waiting to get in that we had several Stella's before we got in so didn`t really tray as many beers as I would have liked to. Next year I will be prepared.

The hop fest at the Irish Village in Dubai, is in its 3rd year now. The 1st year the air con broke in the tent, the 2nd year they ran out of beer and this year it all went much better. This is the 1st time I have attended this event so was interested to see what all the fuss was about. Its a 3 day event and we arrived on the evening of day 2. We had to Que for around 1 hour to get in the tent, luckily, however, the Que ran through the Irish Village so we took it in turns at getting the beers in whilst waiting in line. It was free to get in but they had had some problems with the capacity of the tent earlier in the day so they were only allowing so many people in at a time. There are over 100 beers available, mostly lagers, from all over the world. There was a great band and DJ doing their thing and they even had saw dust on the floor. We have been promised it will be an even bigger event next year. Anyway apologies about the quality of the pics, they were taken with my phone and it was very hot and messy in there. enjoy And Finally, a totally exclusive POV shot from me as we left. Thanks for reading Cant even remember where this was from. More German beer Just because the tables had collapsed, it didn't stop people dancing on them. Then onto the serios beer. I had one more Hue, just for luck. It all started getting a bit messy from now on. Hue beer from Vietnam mmm Japanese beer. The second beer was from Casablanca First beer of the night However, most were now flattened Earlier in the event there were lots of picnic tables in the tent The Que wasn't as bad as I had been told.

As everyone seemed to love the toboggan runs, here's a couple more pics. Dubailand are building a rotating ski slope, so that the bit you ski in will be above zero and the whole slope passes through a chilling area. I just have to say that I do LOVE Dubai. We really do have something for everyone, Check out my Hopfest thread in the random thread. Enjoy. Thanks to my sister in law, Sally, for finally getting me to go inside Ski Dubai.

I finally got around to going inside ski Dubai today. We visited the snow park which is geared to children more than it is to adults, but it was amazing to be actually inside the Ski Slope. As usual I will let the pics do most of the talking. They even have an Iced coffee shop. They have a couple of toboggan runs for the kids. Looking up towards the main ski slope You go out from the caves to the main snow area And some rather large penguins A film theatre Were some kids play things In Amongst the ice caverns See, I told you. It was very cold You enter into the ice caverns. The centerpiece is a huge ice dragon. Then its on your way. Onto Ski Dubai, itself. They give you trousers, boots and a jacket. I just had to include a pic of the robo coaster. You could win one of these cars It has some nicely theme areas. The Mall of Emirates is the largest shopping centre outside North America. Most of the slope you can see here is the black run. We didn`t ski today so you will not be seeing this bit from inside. The ski slope is huge

Does anyone know the song from that horse race game?
dubaidave replied to dubaidave's topic in Random, Random, Random
ooh, Thats it. It must have been the Arabian derby not the horse version. Now the big question. Does anyone have a copy of it? ps. Thanks for moving the thread.
