Ferrari World Discussion Thread
dubaidave replied to Captain Jack's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ha Ha That's why there were no photos. I used up all the pics on `other` things. Anyway. Here are some pics from Ferrari World. I didn't post them because they don't really show much more than the ones that have been posted before, but enjoy anyway. -
I cant believe there is video of this ride working. As far as I was told, by a very reliable source. Wonderland bought the ride for US$ 3 million and it has never worked. The guy I spoke to said it had a problem with the counter balance and that they didn't have anyone who could fix it. Quite why they pay so much money and then not fix it is beyond me. But a drive past a lot and have never seen it running. It is in an area of the park that is difficult to access as well. heres some recent pics

THORPE PARK's New Queueing System
dubaidave replied to Koolkid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was there yesterday and was tottally confused by the signsx saying 1. bought fast passes and they were quite usefull. However the single rider lines were amazing. we rode SAW in 5 mins when the main line was over 1 hour. Same thing with Stealth. No one seems to know about them. even a ride op I spoke toi had no idea there were single rider lines. -

I am doing a job down there tomorrow and know that at least 2 coasters are complete so will be taking my camera. -
Here are some pics I took today. I only did a very quick visit as I had expected the place to be packed. Anyway managed to get a new credit which doesn`t happen very often out here. Was a bit unsure about taking pics. I took stills on my video camera and only started when I saw someone else with a video camera. Got a few funny look off security but was not approached. I will head back with my family soon and will go on all the rides and try and get more pics. Overall I was very impressed, but can imagine it being a nightmare when busy. The pics look a bit funny because the lighting was really strange and I have had to brighten them up a bit. Enjoy random shot of other attractions. Ride op Que Line Lets head up to the coaster first These greeter girls look very similar to the ones in Tokyo, if I remember correctly. The ticket machines Finally its open.

Hi, I will be in Milton Keynes UK in July and was wondering if I could visit Gulliver's Milton Keynes. It says on the website that Adults must be accompanied by one child. My son is 19 so I don`t think he will count. Does anyone have any experience of this park? thanks

Walibi World from Amsterdam?
dubaidave replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thanks very much for the info. I am planning on being in Amsterdam between July 6th and 9th Any idea what would be the quietest day to visit? I am also planning on hitting the Amsterdam Dungeon, for the coaster and wondered if there is anywhere else you could suggest? thanks again. -
Hi, I am thinking of doing a trip to Amsterdam for a few days in the summer and was wondering if anyone can help me with information on how to get to Walibi World by public transport from Amsterdam? Thanks

I have heard that there were problems with it, however most projects in Dubai seem to be having problems at the moment. When I went there was no one working on the site and I was told that Sega were removing their men from the site. I do not know what is happening now but will see if I can find out and let you know.

Any chance this is coming to Dubai? Just a thought.

First of all I have to say a huge thank you to the very kind gentleman who gave me a tour round the site. First impressions of the Sega Republic sit are the sheer size o0f the place. Although only 2 floors, this place is huge. They have rides on both floors and a drop ride that covers both. Besides the usual big Sega arcade machines they have a half pipe like the one in Tokyo and a rather large coaster. The coaster is spinning and will feature a large dark section with special effects as well. The coaster itself looks huge. Easily the biggest I have seen in Dubai. The two things you need to know are that the black track will be in the dark and the orange track will come out into the main theme park. Also, none of the theming has been put in place yet, From the samples on site it looks like it will be very well themed. Enjoy the photos. The area on the top left will be in dark Lets start with a look at the Spin Gear Model It seems like the theming will be amazing. The cars are even on the track Lift Hill The Dark Section here is the outdoor section OK, enough teasing, lets head upstairs to see Spin-gear Here is the drop tower. This entire structure hoses Sega, Kidzania and a huge cinema As you enter you can see the escalators to the second level Lets visit the site This is the outdoor section this is the dark section and loading station
