The Best Woodie under 75 feet Tall
traincrossin replied to MagnumForce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going with Wooden Warrior as well. For a ride that small, it's so much better than half the other coasters out there. Honorable mention to Cannonball Express. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't think Yankee Cannonball was that great when I rode it. Was I in the wrong seat or something? -
I love how there's a Zelda version of the Wii U, it just looks sweet. Random question guys, but is there a game similar to Animal Crossing for ios? Can't find anything with that sort of role playing vibe.

I enjoy listening to the normal coaster podcasts like Coaster Radio and The Season Pass. Both are excellently produced with Coaster Radio having more of a funny side and The Season Pass having fantastic interviews with industry leaders and legends. I also listen to the Hamish and Andy podcasts, they're two hilarious Australian radio hosts with crazy ideas for shows.

Went skiing for the first time this season up at Devil's Head last Friday. Only two runs open, but it felt good to be back on the slopes again! Heading up north to Minnesota after Christmas, should be a fun time.

Best and Worst Rides for Maintenance
traincrossin replied to Solipsisto's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
GateKeeper most commonly went down for guest illnesses, train overshoots in the station, and windy weather. Intamins are fun, but there's a reason why they're down a lot. -
I might be slightly biased after working GateKeeper all summer, but I think it's the better of the two rides. It's taller, faster, has some good forces for a wing rider at the bottom of the first drop, a more scenic view along the beach, better keyholes, better restraints now that they changed it so the vest doesn't lock, and a higher capacity with three trains.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

If Cedar Point updated their employee housing just like their hotels I would be so happy. Still a great step in the right direction! -

Blue Streak has more airtime than Millennium Force. -

I actually had my first enjoyable ride on Mean Streak this year. It had just opened up after the rain and that was the smoothest ride I've ever had on it, and I was sitting in the back too. Even then, I didn't think it was a great ride, I just don't see many redeeming values in it besides its length. No airtime and it's fairly rough. I really would love to see a RMC renovation of it because I think it could be a lot better than its current state and they could significantly reduce the maintenance costs of the ride. -
Weird Roller Coaster Dreams

I had a dream where I was at Epcot and was waiting in line for some launched coaster. Then it went down for rain. In my dream. -

What about just a simple scenic chairlift? -
I wouldn't be surprised as that's what they did with X-Flight. That's one thing that sort of irks me about Great America, I don't get why they wouldn't want their new coaster to be open to everyone on opening day. For those who only go once a year, it would seem like a ripoff if they went to the park early in the season only for Goliath to not be open yet or only be open to season pass holders.

TR: Thanksgiving in New York City 2013!
traincrossin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sounds like a fun Thanksgiving! I've always wanted to go to New York. So cool to see Newsies as a musical now! I loved that movie growing up and wished there was a musical adaption for it so we could have performed it in school. -
Amusement Ride Breakdown!

I've gotten stuck twice on Spacely's Sprocket Rockets before, the train didn't fully pull into the station both times. -
A combination of root beer and orange soda which tasted surprisingly good.

Time for a bit of a construction update! Breakers is all covered up for refurbishment and it looks like work is being done on Pipe Scream's footers. Link
