That virtual map tour seems pretty cool. Cept it does look too much like Disneyland. -
Very nice TR! That pic with BTM at sunset is very nice.

Question about DLR at Christmas Time.
arrowfanman replied to c0sterfreek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yea...but Space Mountain wasn't supposed to open till November 2005. Disney just exagerates it. When DOSH releases their report and Disney sets what they will have to do, we will have a more realisitic reopening date. -
Yea...thats Revolution. I thought that was a handrail, but looking back, it doesn't look like one. Your right....scary. Thanks for the comments!

Question about DLR at Christmas Time.
arrowfanman replied to c0sterfreek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1- Not quite as bad as later in December. Its manageble, if you ask me. 2- I dont know if anybody at our level knows yet. They may just do the normal Remember...Dreams Come True fireworks, they may bring back the Believe...In Holiday Magic fireworks (from last Christmas), or they may do a Holiday version of Remember...Dreams Come True. Nobody know how the parades will operate. 3- This is strictly a matter of what kind of a person you are. I personally LOVE Disneyland aroud Christmastime, and hope to be going myself. It is crowded, yet retains a romantic and personal feel. I dont care about the layovers much, but the Haunted Mansion Holiday layover (which will be returning) is awesome! -
Six Flags Magic Mountain: Part 3 Well, this is the final installment of the Trip Report and it is all pictures! All pictures you ask? Yup, I say…we really didn’t do anything else worthy of the extensive TR format! Ninja has furthered its “HI-YA!”-dispatch campaign…lol Scott (being a single rider) rode with a girl, which he fell in love with, and decided to ride Spin Out with Oh no! A new roller coaster on Goldrusher! TJ is blown away by a ride on Canyon Blaster The middle fountain is crooked…lol Scott…he sad because we ditched him for Canyon Blaster The TV’s in the Batman Shop are ACTUALLY once again playing BATMAN…CRAP! The Batman show lights are ACTUALLY on again! And pointing to nothing Other improvements I noticed: -The themed land music has returned in the Pirates Cove, Gotham City Backlot, and Colossus County Fair. -The station music has returned to Batman: The Ride and Superman: The Escape. -This is just a guess, but it would appear that the ride Op’s have been given permission to “personalize” and “decorate” the station. Along with the “Hi-Ya” sign at ninja, the Goldrusher Op’s have also made several collage posters of their singing and dancing Op crew at work! If minimum wage teenagers go out of their way to decorate, it shows that they care somewhat! -The ride ops are much nicer now, and a lot of them are now, once again ( ) giving the safety spiels and such. -I personally noticed less gum. So who knows…this MIGHT be a step in the right direction, for all we know. Goodnight, and thanks for reading my report!

Six Flags Magic Mountain: Part 2 Well, this part is WAY more photo oriented. After Granny Gran Prix, we decided to make our way further around the park. We arrived at Yosemite Sam Sierra Falls. The Falls is a Hurricane Harbor, tube-like ride that you can ride in your clothes. I distinctly said as we approached it, “This ride is like a hidden jewel in the park. It is loads of fun, but due to its location, nobody ever goes to it!” …It wasn’t long after I said that, that I found the line was too long, and we decided not to ride…lol. We made our way around the park, all the way back to the entrance. We saw that Mr. Six thing up, so Scott hugged it, like his friends in the past: Then we found the Grand Carrousel, the merry-go-round. We rode that, and then headed up for Viper. It was almost 1 o’clock, and Viper’s line looked like this: I hadn’t seen the line out the front sign in ages! I decided I wanted to get some video footage, so I sent the guys off to Tidal Wave, and said I would meet back up with them later. None of the footage ended up coming out. On the way, I ended up seeing Dejavu’s line in the over flow… …that had to be a 1.5-2 hour wait! To think we got the front row with NO wait! I made my way over to Tidal Wave. TJ and Scott had already boarded, so I just watched. I saw they were using MY technique. On a hot day, wait for the very back row, and actually sick your head out the side of the boat, like so (back row): MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES! As you can tell, the dispersed wave soaked them, while everyone else on the boat was sprinkled with water (the two on the sides): After Tidal Wave, it was BACK around the park again, to see if Goliath had opened. It had not. (And Granny Gran Prix had a LONG line: So we made our way over to the Grand Carrousel again. Scott didn’t ride, as he didn’t want to put his shirt back on (loser!). So we rode twice…lol. After that, we decided to ride Revolution. Revolution Revolution is desperately in need of new train! Those restrains are WAY too unnecessary, restricting, and end up making for a slightly painful ride. I think brining back rolling stock design with just a lap-bar would be an interesting draw to this ride, which nears 35 years old! Revolution got picked for the “friendliest crew of the weak”…Goldrusher was better! TJ looking for the “roller coaster construction”. Then it was lunch time!: What part of the chicken is that? The final part of the TR is next!

Howdy all! I just went to SFMM today, and thought I would make a trip report out of it! It was a LONG day, there fore a LONG trip report. I also took photos of the ‘coaster construction’, but that will be in its appropriate thread). Also, the park is shaping up a bit. Just a little. So without further adieu: Six Flags Magic Mountain: Part 1 Well, we (myself, and my two friends, TJ and Scott) showed up a bit late to the park as it was, so we went right in. Judging by the opening crowds, it didn’t seem like the day would be too crowded. We cut through Revolution’s exit, as we so traditionally do, and headed straight to Dejavu. The sign, because my camera takes crappy coaster shots! Dejavu I find it best to skip X and Viper, and head straight for the back coasters first. We had zero, zip, nada wait for the front seats on Dejavu. It was a great way to wake up as usual! I also find it weird that two of my friends were Op’ing! Doesn’t make me feel much better. After Dejavu, it was off, up the mountain, while it was still cool out. For those who have not been following the news, SFMM is doing major preparation work for their next coaster, and the only way to get on the mountain (go to Superman or Ninja), is by way of that STEEP/windy path, on the Riddler’s Revenge side. We got to the top, and decided to ride Superman. Superman: The Escape This is another one of those rides I find BEST to hit FIRST. It won’t be worth it later on. When we got out of the searing heat into the SUPER COLD station, we were all relaxed. And then I noticed something…the station music was playing! This is just one of the small details of improvements in the park, that I have found since last week! First a new car, and now this! Wow! Now they are just going out of their way!…lol. The Ride Op’s were also exceptionally friendly, and let us ride three times, before we decided to leave. While they checked our restraints, they chatted with us riders in the vehicle, about how Superman looks like Elvis Presley. I didn’t see the resemblance: After Superman, we went further up the mountain to get shots of the “roller coaster construction”. Then we went to Ninja. Ninja broke down when we got in the station, and went back up a few minutes after we left the station! I knew that would happen! Well, long story short, we headed back down the mountain. We saw Goldrusher, and I couldn’t resist. Goldrusher This whole summer, I have found that the Goldrusher Crew is the most friendly of ALL the SFMM Crews…even if they no longer have a randomly distributed “friendliest crew of the week” banner. They were singing and dancing in the station! Its this kind of friendliness that I have noticed recently at SFMM…another plus! Want another improvement? There was less gum on the track next to the lift than normal! Hey! That’s less than there normally is! And since we haven’t had rains here, that means someone cleaned it off! The ride on Goldrusher was as good as always (I love that ride…its so hand-made/out of control…I love it!), so we decided to go to Riddler’s. The Riddler’s Revenge I had not been on Riddler’s for awhile, as it is one of the few rides that remains to retain a long line! So I was glad to get to it. The line was a two train wait in the station. Since I have a crappy camera, I was quite lucky to get this shot You know, I enjoyed the ride, but I simply don’t find it as entertaining as it used to. It seems as if they were going so much for a “cool” look, that the elements are linked with long straight-aways. Also, I came off feeling disoriented and with a strain in my legs…but then again, I’m getting out of shape! After Riddler’s we decided to get some Fresher’s Frozen Lemonade. I HIGHLY recommend this on a hot day. We went to the stall by the Magic Moments Theatre. (Jahan’s money saving tip: Use a souvineer cup. It is two bucks cheaper, and gets you 50% more. HOWEVER, open the cap, and use one of the small straws that come at the stand. You will make it go MUCH farther, and get more flavor out of it). I personally love the frozen lemonade to cool me down. After taking a break for some Lemonade, we decided to go to Goliath. What I saw bummed me out… …that’s right. A blue shirt standing at the entrance. We knew what that meant…BREAK DOWN! So, we decided to go on Buccaneer, the swinging ship. Scott wanted to sit by himself…loner It has a special kind of airtime…you guys know what I mean . After that it was off to Granny Gran Prix. We always end up riding this ride (a slow moving car ride…think a slow Autopia, where you can only steer) Me riding Granny Gran Prix…I need some sleep…and a shave. The trip report will continue in the next post!

Yup. Most of the money parks get is from when you are in the park: food, souvineers, games, the fountains you throw coins into...lol. -

X & How to ride it?
arrowfanman replied to Coasters R Fun's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The ride isn't that bad. The trick is to not expect that much out of it. Make sure you ride on the right side (the side you have to go under the station), ride it in the front (the line bunches up in the back, so cut underneath the railings to the right, and make your way to the front...I wouldn't call it cutting if there was a space for the front ), and then sit on the inside seat. . . .yes, this quite oftenly means sacrificing your GP friends ride (if your partner is a child or older, more fragile person, have them sit on the inside). Anyways, just keep telling yourself the ride is a bumpy piece of shit, that makes flashback look like butter, and you might come out with a smile, because it was "better than expected"... . ...works for me. -
SFMW or Paramount Great America?

Lol...I actually prefered SFMW. The rides were much more fun, and they have some pretty good shows there too. -
Worst Arrow coaster
arrowfanman replied to CP_fan_boy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To tell you the truth, I, arrowfanman, have been on, I believe only 6 Arrows...lol. ...Hey...I picked my name cuz its catchy! (not to mention, of the 6 Arrows I have been on, none are really bad). -
I just came back from SFMM. First off, it was pretty crowded for a Wednesday! Yay! Ok, they were SERIOUSLY cutting down a lot of trees. Areas by the skytower seems naked. There is a big pit in front of the tower. When I first got there, I saw two guys sitting on top of Valencia Falls (waterfalls next to Revolution). The waterfalls were turned off, as were the fountains. Revolution was closed when I was there. The original exuse was "technical stuff", but when I asked later if it had to do with them cutting trees, they confimed "yea...something like that". They were installing more of that electrical line when I was there. They were also working in the gardens when I was there (I saw this huge truck move around, a little tractor moving around, and a guy watering down the land.) Thats all I saw. When I was over by metro, I saw the whole fence was painted, from Goldrusher to the Metro. Seeing a painted fence is a LONG JUMP to saying its coming back.

New S&S Drop Ride VIDEO!

That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. Does it just come to an abrupt stop, or does it bounce abit? -
Thanks! Well, here goes DCA: (once again...sorry about the lack of/unnecessary amout of photos...my dad took them): Ok…I know we are all just hearing about the accident on California Screamin’, but Jahan’s trip reports are supposed to be a happy occasion! So lets not bicker and argue about the incident. Lets all celebrate the second half of Jahan’s trip report! Part 2 Disney’s California Adventure Us at the entrance plaza fountain. I was already really tired by time we woke up, but I was going to DCA, so who cares? You see, I rarely get to go to DCA (it really isn’t worth 56 bucks for a 4 person family to go often). We had a Katella McDonalds breakfast, and we were off. I navigated to the Mickey and Friends Parking. The tram lines weren’t very long, so I knew they day shouldn’t be too bad. We got into the park not long after opening, and immediately FastPassed Soarin’ Over California. We then made our way through the park to Grizzly River Rapids. Grizzly River Rapids The line was actually only posted as 20 minutes long, and took even less time than that. The ride is very slow at first. It takes awhile to get out of the station, and up the lift. But once it gets going, it can be really fun! I love how you don’t know whose gonna get the splash of the drop! I didn’t really get wet though, and it was starting to heat up already. We then made our way all the way down to Paradise Pier. We then did Mulholland Madness. Mulholland Madness This ride may be just a mouse coaster hidden behind a zig zag wall, but its still a load of fun! We did it twice, because the line was only 5-10 minutes. I rarely get mouse coasters, and I wish SFMM traded Flashback out for one…lol. We then went to Maliboomer before using of Soarin’ Fastpasses Maliboomer I personally like the Maliboomer much more than Supreme Scream…sure, its WAY shorter, but you get way more air on the launched towers than the drop towers. (Not to mention, I feel less of that nerve-racking anticipation). So Maliboomer was way fun…In fact, we did it 3 or 4 more times during the day, because of low lines. Another thing I noticed, was that the announcer that told you how to buckle up (refers to himself AS Maliboomer) sounded a lot like Fry from Futurama…anyone know if its him? Is this...Maliboomer? Soarin’ Over California We decided to use our FastPasses for Soarin’. I noticed that the CM taking the FP tickets was the same traffic control CM I was talking to in Frontierland on the day of the 50th, so I thought that was kind of cool. I was debating if I should ask to wait for row B1 (top middle seats [best seats in the house]), But we had waited so long, that I decided not to. To my luck, we ended up getting row B1 anyway, and it was the best ride I have ever had on Soarin! If I HAD to take Walt to DCA (assuming he was alive, and for some reason hadn’t’ been in the park), that would be the ride I would show him. But after Soarin’, we went to the REAL reason I wanted to be at DCA: Can you guess what it is? Can you guess now? What about now? AHHA! We found you! The Tower of Terror [POSSIBLE SPOILERS] Disney takes one extra step in their park design, which truly sets them apart: they build and use models…3d storyboarding. It was evident, because the Tower was specifically placed to look menacing from every point in the park, and it worked! We showed up to that AWESOME structure to get a FastPass, but we saw that the wait was 13 (ha!) minutes, and walked into the lobby. The lobby was so immersive, that I immediately felt like I was in a Disney park (Most of DCA doesn’t do that for me). We made our way into the pre-show room, and saw the clip. That was pretty cool, how they set the whole thing up. This room was ALSO very immerse. They literally have books and cups set up on a table you stand next to, and do-dads on the walls. I know they were all pinned down, but it looked as if they trusted us as GUESTS…very nice. When the Pre-show was over, it was off to the broiler/loading room. Also very immersive. Buttons on the wall to press, employee check in/check out thing, all within reach. We finally got up, were assigned row 3. Now THIS feels like Disney! I was really excited. When we loaded our bellhop was kind of boring, but we didn’t know till we got another one later that did the whole spiel…that was cool. When it started, I was blown away. Sure, the ride is short, but while it lasts, it is the most amazing ride. The special effects are extraordinary! On the first floor, you’ll be looking at yourself in a mirror, and then your silhouette turns green and blue and distorted, and then you image disappears altogether. On the next floor you’re in a hallway, and then the hallway all of a sudden disappears, and your in space. AMAZING effects. After that you do a series of drop sequences, and then the ride is over. I couldn’t help but think “wow” when I got off. Sure the ride is short, but I personally believe that it is the most “Disney” of all of the DCA attractions. That’s why I love it. [END OF SPOILERS] Our photo...I made it small because it was blurry. After the Tower, it was back to Paradise Pier to FastPass California Screamin’. When we got there, we saw an empty train sitting on the launch. ****! It had broken down. So instead we had lunch. Lunch We didn’t REALLY have a real lunch. We decided to have ice cream instead. I got a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwich. Apart from being initially rock hard, it ended up being pretty good. We then browsed the shops, and decided to ride Maliboomer again. When we were waiting for it, we saw California Screamin’ testing. By time we were off, it was up and running again. We FastPassed it. The good thing about Screamin’ is my parents wont ride it. Therefore, I could use their tickets to get 4 FP’s for my sister and I. Two rides for me! Besides that, the line was short, so we just went in the stand by, and got on in 20 minutes. California Screamin’ You know another thing I like about Disney? They assign seats to get the line moving faster, but will give you your seat of choice upon request. So we got on the front seat in the matter of two trains. I forgot how much I love this ride! The launch isn’t intense, but the ride is STILL smooth (way smoother than Scream! [which is 1.5 years younger]). The ride provides a BUTTLOAD of airtime. I will definitely hop right back in line after it reopens…if it reopens…lol. BTW...I the guy that says "get ready screamers!" sounds just like the Maliboomer guy, who sounds just like Fry! Is Fry the Screamin guy too?!? Its Tough to Be a Bug I had not seen the show before, so I thought “why not?” My sister didn’t really want to, but went along. The whole ride kind of had a “Slash Mountain feel” to it (just in how the rockwork was), so I felt pretty good about the environment. The show was ok. I would see it again if I felt like it. The rest of the day was spent re-riding stuff. I know it doesn’t seem like we did much, but I enjoyed myself more than I did at Knott’s which is very surprising. But I will give you insight for our food and entertainment: Dinner For dinner we actually left the park, and went to the LaBrea Bakery, that sits behind the Soarin’ building. I just wanted a burger, and it was ok. This is one of those restaurants that are trying to be fancy when they don’t need to be! Lol. I just liked that I could hear the Indy Ball while we ate!!! Block Party Bash All and all, I wasn’t really impressed by this. I mean, I have never really cared for parades. I only saw a sliver of the show, but I was just expecting more out of it. I know the entertainers are working REALLY hard, but I just couldn’t get into the “celebration”. Aladdin: The Musical Us in front of Aladdin. I didn’t know what to expect from a musical in a theme park, but we decided to do it anyway. By time we got in to the theatre, I was hungry. I over heard someone say the show was 48 minutes, and I was like “****”. So I didn’t start off in the best mood. But as the show progressed, it ended up being pretty good. My favorite character was the Genie. I don’t think he lived up to Robin Williams, but he did a pretty good job, and got pretty close. A lot of his jokes were very modern (referencing Tom Cruise and Katie Holms, or Napoleon Dynamite)…he did a pretty good job. Also the set design was VERY far out and VERY cool. I liked that a lot. But of course, what I like the most, was in the “Whole New World” sequence, Aladdin and Jasmine actually “fly” over the audience on the Magic Carpet. They are moving pretty fast, they are very high, they are moving all around smoothly, and yet keeping their balance and singing well. So that was cool. P.S. Every Arab country has 1/2 naked ladies bellydancing through the streets! Disney’s Electrical Parade I forget the last time I saw the Electrical, so we ran up and did that. It was a lot of fun, and I am glad I did that. It is the only parade I have really liked. It’s a lot of fun to just explore the different floats. My favorite float is the Dumbo float with the organ pipes on it, and how steam comes out of each pipe PERFECTLY with the music. That was cool. Its also cool to see the parades’ reflection on the Bay. That’s pretty cool too. Well, that’s its for California Adventure! I had a lot of fun! I am going to SFMM this week, so if that trip is any good, I will post another TR for that! Thanks for readin! Me, after a long TR!
