  1. So yesterday me and tha family unit decided to play hookie from school and go to Dollywood to experience the new attraction lovingly entitled "Adventure Mountain." What I can tell you is that this is a one of a kind attraction to any theme park here in the United States. I also might add that it is completely massive and awesome! It's a 2.5 acre modern day ropes course themed to a ranger station. It takes up the entire left side of the valley between Tennessee Tornado and River Battle and fits in perfectly with the area's theming. There are hundreds of challenges spanning the entire play area, with several skill levels depending on your intestinal fortitude. You could seriously spend half your day on this structure trying to do them all. Between Me, Alana, Jarett, January, and Alana's Father (Matt) We spent almost an hour and a half on the structure before we were escorted off due to the park being closed. The whole family can't wait to go back and discover more of this fantastic interactive play area. If you don't know how it works, let me give you a bit of an overview before I show the pictures. You are harnessed in to standard rock climbing gear. Then they attach your "umbilical cord" to the harness. After that, they hook you into the structure and off you go to explore the whole thing! It really is amazing in it's simplicity. A couple of notes. This is a physical attraction. No open toe, or slides are allowed on the structure. They were not allowing people on with sandals, flip flops, and Crocks for safety reasons. Also, there is a 42" height requirement, and kids between 42" & 48" must have their parents with them. I can attest that unless you are a complete Debbie Downer. As a parent, you will want to go! It's a blast! In a nutshell, this is an amazing attraction! Dollywood has a winner on it's hands with Adventure Mountain! Get up to the Smokies and go! Enjoy the pictures! Guy "Can't get back to Dollywood quick enough." Koepp Welcome Back at ya Dwood! This is Adventure Mountain from the River Battle side. Looking back into the valley from the Tennessee Tornado side. Every span has 3 different ways to cross as well as a "chicken" bridge. Some of the spans have surprises that randomly go off if you don't cross quick enough. In true Dollywood fashion, they have ride supervisors and instructors all over the structure to assist you if needed. IMHO, I think Dollywood increased their labor force by close to 10% with this attraction alone. These friendly people are everywhere. You really get to explore everything on this structure. They also have a mini ropes course at the base of the Mountain for the little tykes called "Camp Teach-it-to-me." Thank you Dollywood for another amazing, fun filled, family attraction. Adventure Mountian is awesome! We love it!
  2. ^ I'm HOPPING the exact same thing! Guy "The Devil made me do it! " Koepp
  3. Even as a child I had always dreamed that someone would create a dark ride themed to my favorite cartoon. Johnny Quest! It would be awesome! They could travel through jungle and desert themed rooms on those cool hovercrafts. In the finale, they would be chased by some of the thuggees in their bad guy hovercrafts, and Johnny would do something cool, cause an explosion, and save the day. And of course, Bandit and Hadjii would be there for comic relief. Guy "Cause nothing says comic relief like pugs and people from India." Koepp
  4. ^Dude! It was right there in the pictures. Didn't you see it? Guy "Pictures don't lie." Koepp
  5. Awesome TR! One of the most creative I have seen this year. Keep up the good work.
  6. Is it too early to start guessing where these coasters will end up? I'm guessing SOAKED will end up at Cowabunga Bay. Any comments Shane?
  7. ^The giant eye terrified me for years!
  8. ^Well Damn! Why didn't you say so! I'll ditch the wife and kids with the ostriches and party with you man! Guy "Is that right? Ostriches or is it Ostrichi?" Koepp
  9. Such an awesome TR Chuck. I am so sad I missed this weekend. Grrrrrrr! Stupid Jobs not happening.
  10. Jimmy this was awesome! That farm had it all. From a goat glory hole exhibit, to giant man eating birds. Next time I'm in Tucson visiting my relatives, it's Boot Hill and this place! Guy "I'm in!" Koepp
  11. It looks great. I think I need to get back to this park. I havn't been there in almost 30 years, Guy "Yeah, I 43. But my wife tells me I'm going on 3." Koepp
  12. ^Dude! Thats grounds for divorce! Who's wearing the pants in your fam? Guy "It's not, "Hunny, can I go to BAB?" It's, "Hunny, go sexy yourself up at the spa. Enjoy the weekend without me. I'll be at BAB. "Koepp
  13. ^^^The Jeff Johnson exhibit can't exist yet, as he is still alive, and there are no bones to be dug up. ^^Oh Yeah! Between this and the creation museum, a fun filled day is sure to ensue. ^Yes, yes, and... ...only if your Jeff Johnson. Guy "See how I bookended this post with Jeff Johnson. It's like Haiku, in posting form. And doesn't follow Haiku rules. But yet makes perfect sense. Uh... ...Jeff Johnson? "Koepp
  14. They have a place exactly like this about an hour & a half north of Nashville. Between Beech Bend & Kentucky Kingdom. Me and tha kids went last spring. I thought it was a bit cheesy, but the kids had a blast. I looked it up on line and apparently there are 3 of them owned by the same company. There's also one in Texas. http://www.dinoworld.net/ I don't know about your visit that day, but when we went, there were tons of people there. If you have one that's close to you, It's a nice place to go with the fam for a little day trip if you have young kids that are into dinosaurs. (like mine are) It was very clean, well maintained, and everyone there was very nice and helpful. Oh! and you can bring in your pets if you have them on a leash. My kids were exhausted after running around that place for 3 hours. We had a good time. Some of the science was a bit lacking. I had to correct a few of the placards that were posted as I didn't want my kids to be informed incorrectly. Aside from that, it's well worth the price. And you can usually find discount tickets at the closest gas station near it as well. I think we got like 20% off or something like that. Guy "Oh! Did your dino's lack bung holes & genitalia? Ours did." Koepp
  15. Classic Chuck! I can tell in advance this report only stands to be epic!
  16. ^I don't mind Ghostrider that much. However, it is a far cry from the amazing coaster that it used to be.
  17. ^I'm told every time the Cowabunga Bay bucket dumps, an Angel gets it's wings!
  18. I can't wait to visit this attraction. Possibly October this year? Guy "Woo Hoo!" Koepp
  19. ^I'm still huddling in the corner bawling my eyes out. Guy "f'ing work letting me and my fun down again!" Koepp
  20. OMG! A chocolate, bacon, funnel cake!? Life doesn't get any better than that. Did you try the teriyaki mayonaise dipping sauce as well? Tyler swears by it!
  21. ^He an I have already been texting this morning, so I already have that covered. I'm still sad.
  22. I am so sad right now. I wish I was there with you all.
  23. Wouldn't it be hysterical if the Knotts huge surprise was for them to do a special presentation on why the CF "buy out" is a good idea. That was a joke people. I hope it's something amazing. Like perhaps Michael Roddy being hired as the new Haunt director. Something uber cool that only TPR gets the scoop on. Guy "I'm just sad I won't be there this year." Koepp
  24. All mine will be family friendly! Guy "I promise!" Koepp
