Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

I wouldn't want a parking garage... it ruins the views. Not only that, but I find parks are unbearably busy when the parking lot is full. Allowing more people into the park would, yeah, increase the amount of moolah you're making, but you're sacrificing guest satisfaction in my opinion, by making it even more packed. Am I looking at this from the right angle? -

Yes unfotunately. However they're allowing anyone who came today to come back another day for free. Nice of them to do that! -

Woah woah woah... lets not forget about Millennium Force which took #2!! I'd say that's more impressive than Steel Vengeance's #3 because it's been around for almost 2 decades. It's like the "Old Ironsides" of the Coaster World. -

^^Yas!!! If those are actually wheel heaters then Leviathon might be at Winterfest!! -
As Rob said in another thread, its pretty hard to call it a trend, because only 4 B&M dives have been added from 2004-2019 in North America. They're not even bad additions... they're solid rides that draw people to the park. You could maybe argue that when Cedar Fair bought the property, but recently the park has been invested into a lot. In addition the charm seems to be there still, as many others consider this their favorite Cedar Fair park due to its higher level of theming, and charm/environment.

Funny you should bring up the 5th century, because that's when the Roman Empire collapsed. This could reference the "collapse" of SOB. The collapse of the Roman Empire made way for new things to come. It all fits! -

Why not just build a GIANT shed over the entire ride to mimic night, then have those 6 barrel rolls outside the shed to screw with enthusiasts? -

They're rerouting the Mississippi River through the park. Is it really that far out of the question? -

^Great news! Hopefully we'll see some sort of vertical construction soon (if there hasn't been any yet). We don't know the color of the track yet... right? Damn! That is impressive. I was questioning why you only rode fury a couple times until I saw the last part of your post. Well played. First time at the park? I'm going to ditto this... that's crazy you were able to hit up that many rides in such a short amount of time. Must have been walking speedily! -

Great report! Looks like you had a fantastic time!! Completely agree with you on your thoughts on all of the rides. Especially how pretty Valravn is. I don't care what the ride is like, I could sit under it for hours. However, I am disappointed you skipped Wicked Twister... Probably one of my all time favorites for some odd reason. ^Yeah, I took note of that too, doesn't seem to be very good to say the least. Fortunately there has been rumor of alternatives in the works on Twisted Timbers recently. -

I went mid June last year, and was greeted with a ridiculous amount of those muffleheads. Went this year at the same time, and didn't see very many of them. Perhaps their "Season" shifted later by a month or two? Ohio has bad spiders?! Tennessee is just two states below and has far larger spiders! Plus they're a little less venomous up here. -

Based on my experience this year, people with "bring a friend" tickets can take advantage of early entry if the passholder is with them. -

^ As with everything with Cedar Point (and amusement parks) it can vary drastically. In reality they probably shouldn't be *too* bad (15-30 minutes on major ones... maybe?), but it depends on the ride, the type of day, etc. Given what others have seen, it will most likely be running 3 trains by late August. -
