I know it is not straight, it starts at the top of the camelback, then goes on a downward curve on the Y-Axis, then an Upward curve on the Y-Axis, but Kingda Ka has the magnetic brakes mounted on the track, so on curves on the Y-Axis they are quite useable, but he was using traditional Intamin friction brakes which use a horizontal fin and matching friction piece, these can take horiontal curves on the X or Z-Axis but not on the Y -Axis. 2 problems here. 1. You don't have to throw out "X axis" and "y axis" to sound smart, everybody knows what you're talking about and there isn't anything that difficult about it. Even so, if you wan't to get intricate about you, you can see HERE at the bottom right the downward curving brake run which certainly involves a slight rotational twist of the train body and thus a twist of the brakes. Also, if you change the orientation of the train, it can have brakes in any direction it wants to. Also, you want to use the word "plane" anyway. You're trying to claim that brakes cannot manage curves, when unbanked, on the X-Y plane or Y-Z plane, but can curve on the X-Z plane. 2. They are still magnetic brakes, they are just mounted differently. -

^Well, I'd say that if he's going into a brake or launch section he can AHG that section if he wants to, but yeah. No supports yet, and it would be easier later on. Also, if you are going for a maverick type ride, you should actually have the transitions at more of a bend. From pictures and reviews, there is actually some air in those transitions -

Here we go. Thanks for all the comments everyone. I may make some more "quickies" and just put them in this thread... and make this thread a quick ride thread, haha. One last view of the main side, from a different angle. Here's the turn from the initial brake to the final brake. Theres a small pop of air into the last part. it goes down so far because I think it'd be cool to have the queue go over it so people could watch the trains haul into the brakes. and hear the chee This was suppose to have floater air, but instead only goes down to about .2? Atleast it lets you move around a bit. General view of the other side. See? Not so support heavy here. This actually fails tunnel test, a bit of that track pokes in, oh welllllllllll This is entering the first turn with some nice fly by actionzzzz. Here's the crazy turn into the brakes. -

^Yeah, that turn definitely it. I just wanted those there for the speed effect of flying by those supports. The rest of that ride isn't as heavily supported. Yeah, if I were making this seriously, I would have had it slower, but tightened the turns a bit to keep the intensity. What I slapped together I just upped the launch a bit to make it more intense, but youa re right, it is a bit quick. Yeah, I should have had them set to start earlier, huh? Again that's one of those details I'd have corrected on a serious project. And the supports, well, after you work in NL for so long it becomes really easy to things faster. haha I'll have some extra pictures up soon for those who can't see it in the program. -

I made the thing in 3 hours as a boredom thing off of a comment. If I was really worried about realism I would have spent more time on it. -

Well until hydraulic launches are actually available in NoLimits I don't see what difference it makes. Acceleration is acceleration, what type it is shouldn't be an issue. -
I made this quick little rocket last night after commenting that Rita would be better with a flip. Well, the second hill should have had airtime, but doesnt. I wasn't invested enough in this track to fix it by the time I'd AHG'd it either, but you can just imagine there's air if you'd like. Really though, I wanted it to take Rita's basic layout, and make a bit more Maverick-esque focusing more on intense positive forces and quick transitions. I think it did that well, at least. Anyway, yes, about 3 hours total. That being said, there may be some minor pumps & bumps but overall it's pretty smooth. Enjoy. Quick Rocket.nltrack Have fun with it. Doesn't it look nice?

Do you have something against conroll? -
Step #1 - Temporarily ignore all previously stated rules. Step #2 - Realize that some people overreact to everything. Step #3 - Ride other people's track, study how they place their segments or how the track should be shaped, and experiment around to try and mimic that. Step #4 - Once you can get a ride generally smooth, THEN go back and look at the "rules." Repeat Step #2 when necessary. PS- It's a lot easier to make a long support as a straight line reference than it is to use a 3ds.

By overcome you mean....... oh, right. -
No. I used auto supports but I'm HEAVILY editing them. Like, ahlf of the large lift structure was hand-built and right now I'm focusing on the main cross-over/mess area under the lift. Around/under where the first hill goes under the lift and there's all that other track there. Let's just say it's super fun......................

^Extratone?

Here's a shot of the main lift support/drop structure. I basically have that done, just have some working to do under it. Nothing major , but still really tedious. I think the drop and the supports look really excellent, the whole thing looks really robust. Note how that twists? Still no wheel hits. 8-D

So, WeeWeeSlap has a challenge currently to design the best small-footprint Gravity Group LLC coaster, similar to Kemah Boardwalk's Boardwalk Bullet. I'm entering, obviously, and I decided I'm gonna do some updates since I'm pretty sure I'll be releasing it elsewhere despite it's mediocre shaping, overall. the track itself is done as much as it's going to be. I simply don't have time to go back and fix every kink, I really need to focus much more on supports. Granted, the track is still pretty smooth and fluid. There are small kinks along the track but OVERALL it's a very solid track. I'm working on supports right now. I'll try to get some more pictures posted soon, but for now here's the layout top-view.
