  1. See or hear more on this? I'm hearing from others that new signs haven't been posted and it was just a few new employees misunderstanding the rules, particularly on LR.
  2. Well, I know plenty that like both. And my understanding was they are new, modern versions not old refurbished ones.
  3. the tilt-a-whirl and flyer are both new, just added last year.
  4. Got a photo of the signs? Maybe a link to one? I trust you, but I'd like to have it to share with others that don't know me. Seems like a big mistake. Lots of 8-13 year olds there with parents/grandparents that don't ride. Shoot if my daughter was there with her mother (who won't ride coasters) a few years ago she wouldn't have been allowed to ride.
  5. That's a bummer. They need more not less. Though it wasn't real useful. The grouper would often ignore people in the line for long periods instead of filling trains.
  6. Curious to see how that goes. I don't care $$$ much. Where was this announced? I don't see anything on the park's social sites or website.
  7. No info yet. Wouldn't necessarily open earlier, it's a Friday and as gsr as I know schools are open, so wouldn't have much of a crowd earlier. There was supposed to be a passholder event, so maybe that will be earlier. Or it could just start at 4, and passholders only on AF1 for a few hours. I'm not a passholder so I won't get any emails.
  8. Seems they had 45 days impacted by weather. So Big Bear Mountain won't open with park. Pete still says spring. Date supposed to be announced march 11.
  9. No updates. Saw some recent video on instagram. Outside of station looks done. Ride entrance taking shape. Still no announced opening date. In another forum it was reported stopped testing in early Jan and hasn't restarted. Some issues with county inspections.
  10. FITH still has the water features. FITH is also several years older. DW removed the water years ago. That means the ride has not deteriorated at much/fast as FITH. I think it has many years left.
  11. Replying to myself since I don't see this posted yet. PTC has refreshed the GASM trains and sending back to SFoG. https://www.instagram.com/p/CnxczlIpY8g/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link https://www.facebook.com/philadelphiatoboggancoastersinc/posts/pfbid02XjwfSCaCzt2zR9uz7XHMZoHammJAqevEZxTEjMiXfT85dx23FZ5Gx7QbwHXLTkpTl
  12. 36" minimum height. Kind of short, 1100ft combined track. Good addition to a family/kids area.
  13. It has been getting retracked in stages for the last few years. I doubt they'd do any major modification after all the money spent on that.
  14. I doubt March 3. Still too prone to cold, snow, ice, etc. to open the outdoor portion of the park. Any one know when they typically open the outdoor portion? Late March, around Spring Break seems more likely.
  15. Some of the "rooms" are suites with separate bedrooms.
  16. Maybe, but they've been cancelling a lot the last couple of weeks (per Twitter/Instagram posts). I fully expected they'd just cancel for the rest of the year. Of course I won't be there until New Years.
  17. Nice. I've never stayed in the cabins up there. Plenty of others from north of Sevierville to just down the hill from Ober Gatlinburg to Townsend. Even down McCarter Hollow past the DW entrance.
  18. I prefer cabins where you can enjoy the mountains instead of another hotel. Grass and trees, wildlife (rarely a bear), all good stuff for kids (young and not so young).
  19. If you have a band they won't check again unless it blatantly obvious the band is wrong. I don't recall ever seeing someone with a band rechecked at a ride, but if it was blatant (like several inches off) I think they would. Growth is hard to predict but I think 3-4 inches in 7-8 months is likely since you just saw an inch in a month.
  20. This article says: Silver Dollar City bought most of the 800-plus acre property in February 2021 and recently acquired the remaining 26 acres where the abandoned condos sit.
  21. Assuming they have the same offer again next year. With the way they've changed stuff over the last year there a lot of uncertainty with that.
  22. I didn't see much discussion. But looks like the passes are back to more reasonable prices right now. At SFoG, Gold good now through Sep 4 2023, $65. Platinum Good til Jan 2024 and White Water for $90 (in August it was all parks). Takes the $250 Diamond to get all parks though. Still not liking the short season for Gold pass. Meal passes too. $110 for 1 meal, $150 for 2 meals. Not great, but given inflation the last 2 years not horrible. Looks like similar at other parks.

  24. Was there supposed to be an emoji there? (eye roll? sarcasm tag?) I wasn't complaining about the price of the individual pass, just the loss of benefit from the passes, especially the silver pass. I'd expect reasonable increases at all 3 price points due to inflation, and bigger than in previous years with the current high inflation. 1 gold and multiple regular/silver has been the deal for families for a long time. Cutting a common time for them to visit (school breaks) from the lower pass is a big hit. I don't think it'll work in their favor. It won't push many to buy more gold passes and will deter a lot from buying passes at all.
