Wow that park looks really good. I done a few bouncy bouncy's as they travel around the UK a lot - my husband hates them! Looks like you are having fab weather too - we currently have heavy rain and thunder! (hope I don't lose power) Can't wait to see you pictures from PA - haven't been for 2 years and miss the place. Keep safe

My first coaster was the Cyclone @ Pleasureland Southport followed by Blackpool Pleasure beach a few weeks later. I was 13 at the time. My first looping coaster was Shockwave @ Drayton Manor when I was 15 - I wouldn't go on the revolution at Blackpool because it looked scary! I'm 25 now - how time does fly!

A small group of people that I work with wanted me to arrange a 2nd trip to a theme park – we decided to visit Thorpe Park, Surrey. So 8 of us set off from Banbury at 8.30am in heavy rain down the M40. A little over 1 hour later we were at Thorpe Park and the rain hadn’t given up! I went to pick the tickets up for the group – some had never been to a Theme Park before and a few had only been to Alton Towers before this visit. Once we picked the tickets up we headed for Stealth first. The rain had turned in to drizzle so it wasn’t as bad as when we first arrived. As we joined the queue for Stealth the first train launch and all the “guests” that came with us looked shocked. We only had to queue for 5 minutes and it was our turn – only 4 of us could ride on this train. After we had all ridden they all said how amazing the launch is and the drop when you get to the top. After Stealth we decided to Nemesis Inferno but it wasn’t working, so we walked over to colossus. We had queued for 10 minutes and that then had stopped. We decided to wait in the queue line as it appeared to be a problem getting the 2nd train out so thought it won’t take to long – as it turned out, it didn’t and within 5 minutes we were on. Two of the guys managed to get front seats and they all loved Colossus. After that we decided to grab a quick coffee break before doing some of flat rides – which proved to be great entertainment!!!! We did Vortex (KMG afterburner) first – 2 of them decided not to do it – the others followed us up the queue line and on to the ride. Once the ride started 3 of them really didn’t like it and couldn’t wait for it to stop. Next up was Quantum – this was the biggest entertainment of the day – we all sat in the middle so we could see each other. Once the ride started we were laughing – 5 of the guys with us had white knuckles from holding on so tight – by then end of the ride 3 of us were in tears from laughing so much. Saying that they couldn’t of hated it that much as they all wanted to go again. Next stop – Rush (screamin’ swing) – We queued for 30 minutes and we really enjoyed it. They were all concerned they were going to fall out and told me to hold on. After Rush we decided to take them on X:/ No Way out – just for badness really but we refused to tell them what it was. Even after we had all ridden it – we still are sure! After Rush Nemesis had re-opened so we headed off to do that. Three of the guys went off to do the front while the rest of us queued for the back seats. After coming off they decided to that they wanted to do the front – so we queued again. As Robert and I had done the front a number of times we decided to wait for the back again and take some pictures (see below). After Inferno they wanted to do Colossus again so we headed off – Robert and I decided to sit it out so I took a few pictures and Robert grabbed a bite to eat and drink. After everyone had finished we headed over the Samurai – 2 of our group said “not a chance” and decided to watch. After a few goes on this we decided to spilt up and get the last rides that people wanted to get done, done. Our group decided to do Loggers Leap and Tidal Wave. Loggers was good fun and the last drop was great. Tidal Wave was another story! From my last ride on Tidal Wave I only remember a slight splash but this time we got soaked. That ended up being our last ride of the day as the park closed at 6pm, so we headed out to the car and headed back home to Banbury. I haven't taken many pictures because of the weather but I have a few for you. RollercoasterTigger replied to IceDragon's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
We are off to Thorpe on Sunday with some of the guys from work, some of which have never been to a theme park before and some have only been to Alton Towers. Hopefully they will enjoy it...... -
Bit a long shot but we are looking for a logo for our website. We want the same design that we have but wit a few more ideas to it. I would for some to draw/create this for us but I have had quote over 500GBP which is far too much for the websites. Anyone interested in creating one for us?

Thanks for the information guys. I didn't think it would be a problem but didn't want to go ahead with out checking first. Think I will look at us spending Day 1 & 2 at Liseberg and Day 3 at Tusenfryd and look at car hire pick up at Goteburg and return at Oslo. Looking forward to it now - want Balder to be my 150th! - Heard a rumour that it's a fabulous ride

We are looking to go to Liseberg and TusenFryd in early september for 3 days. Our plan is : Day 1: fly UK to Gothenburg city - go to Liseberg and stop in the hotel near by. Day 2: Travel to TusenFryd for the day, return to liseberg hotel for the night Day 3: spend day at Liseberg and flight home late evening We did look at doing Liseberg on Day 1 & 2 and travelling in the evening up to TusenFryd for Day 3 and stopping in a hotel in Oslo. This would mean pick the car up in Sweden and dropping it back off in Norway. - having troubling find a company that will allow this. Is it possible to take a hire car from one country to another (I haven't been able to find one that will allow it) Be grateful for any information or advice.

Phantasialand Discussion Thread
RollercoasterTigger replied to roeterich's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Another fantastic looking hotel. I love phantasialand - the hotel and park is stunning - we were there on holiday just 2 weeks ago. Might hold off going again until this hotel is open! -
I always e-mail or phone the park to ask about on-ride filming before I go. Most parks will say "no" - if they do then fine, I end up doing more off ride filming and photo's instead. I don't want to get on the wrong side of the parks so what they say goes...hopefully in a few years this will pay off and they will let me do some filming. Who knows!

We did a mini Germany trip last saturday for 5 days to visit Phantasialand and Europa Park. Our main reason for the visit was of course Black Mamba, which I have to say is amazing. I have to say I think it is better than Nemesis at Alton Towers but it is very close! Anyway enjoy the pictures Lisa River Quest One of the many inversions Black Mamba off the First drop First Drop & Loop

Europa park help
RollercoasterTigger replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
They don't even know themselfs. It all depends on how crowded it is. No, but you don't need them anyway. The rides have a really huge capacity. It is always busy in EP. Some qeues may even get up to 30 minutes. What he said. But I know we went in July in 2004 with the ECC and the maximum time we queued was 25 minutes and that was for Silver Star. We are going back to Europa in September this year!!!! Can't wait! -
Best Drop Ride!!!
RollercoasterTigger replied to coaster_shorty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Drop towers are the one ride that I really don't like but I will ride them!!!! I would have to say the best is Scream @ Heide Park, closly followed by Apocalypse @ Drayton Manor and Dentonator @ Thorpe Park. I would ride Scream again but I don't ride the others unless I am dragged!
