  1. We got your message at breakfast this morning Big Mike and I sent you a text back. Everybody wished you a Merry Christmas. We had a nice day even though I am sick, thank goodness I have off until after New Year's(vacation time yes!). I am taking the next couple of days easy, just going to sit on the couch and chill out. Hope you had a wonderful day.--Bobbi Jo
  2. ^Yes you did my friend. Down on the boardwalk in WildWood, there are dozens of pizza shops with different kinds of pizza. I believe that particular type of pizza came out a couple of years ago.
  3. Awesome photos Big Mike! We had a great time that day and you are welcome to hang out with us at our summer home and the beach anytime Big Mike. I know it's sad to hear about the Golden Nugget's demise but we have to make way for progress and hopefully a new coaster. Then that definitely gives you an excuse to come hang out with us again.----Bobbi Jo
  4. Sorry I didn't see the other post on the front page of the forums regarding the info on the closing on the Golden Nugget before I put this post up. If any one still wants to reply to this post, be my guest.
  5. Sorry I didn't see this post before I made a new one. I loved that ride and it will be sad to see it go. When something is a part of your childhood and it is taken away from you, it can be upsetting. Alas, life goes on and if they build a new coaster in it's place that would be wonderful. Let's hope for the best.
  6. On Saturday January 31,2009, the Morey's organization will hold a public farewell to the Golden Nugget on the old Hunt's pier in WildWood,NJ. Citing safety issues and costs, the organization said that there is no way that they can rebuild it or move it to another pier. It will be torn down to make way for a new project worthy of the Golden Nugget's legacy. Another great coaster is going to disappear forever. If you live in the tri-state area and have ever ridden this one of a kind coaster, please come out and pay your respects to this coaster before they tear it down. I will be there. Hunt's pier was a great pier with one of kind attractions. I used to love this ride as a child and now I will only have my memories of this great ride. So please come out and say good-bye to the Golden Nugget. Thank You.
  7. Great photos Big Mike! I love them! How did you ever manage to capture those two unique photos of the different sets of coaster riders? That was great. Brian likes the photos too. Katie Holmes is very beautiful, still looks like a little girl. She needs a little meat on her bones too. Other than that, she is a good looking chic. Can't wait to see the boardwalk pics, Brian wants to see his mug on the internet . I had a great time that day and you need to come back when you have more time so we can do more things. You are always welcome down here in South Philly and the Jersey shore with me my friend. Next summer definitely!
  8. Regis Philbin? He seems like the kind of celebrity I would want to hang out with. Or perhaps maybe Bette Midler? She seems like she is cool also. Talk about crazy guesses! Can't wait for my big debut!---Bobbi Jo
  9. ^^Thanks for the pic of Rick Astley and Coco(that is the bird next to Rick in the pic)!---Bobbi Jo
  10. ^I was wondering if Foster's was going to have a float this year. That was awesome when Cheese came out and said "I like Rick Rolling!" I love that show, it has such a broad range appeal, something for both kids and adults, just like SpongeBob. And it sounded like the announcer said they are coming out with a movie so that is why we haven't seen much of them recently. Sorry to get off track here, but I'm just a big fan of Foster's. ----Bobbi Jo
  11. Yeah! My big debut on TPR is almost here. I can't wait to see it Big Mike. Boba Fett is sitting on my lap as I type this and I just told him that my debut on TPR is a couple of days away and he gave me an approving meow. That show looked awesome, my kind of stuff. ---Bobbi Jo
  12. ^^^That would have been so nice of you BeemerBoy. That is a great organization. They helped out my aunt and my cousin(who has brain cancer) with free tickets to Universal Orlando this past summer. The tickets were like the golden tickets of the theme park world. She got to go behind the scenes to see how things are done and front of the line access to the rides that was even better then express pass if you can believe it. Universal really treated her great that day. When I found out that that was the name of organization that helped her I gave them a nice monetary donation and I will continue to do so every year now.
  13. AC/DC was in town tonight Big Mike, alas I didn't go, I had to work.( Darn you UPS !) I take it you are going on Wednesday, please post a report for us please.Thanks!-----Bobbi Jo
  14. ^Just drop me a line next time your in town!
  15. To bad your trip didn't bring you down to Philly, I could have taken you out for some cheesesteaks and some killer margaritas. Oh well next time you come this way drop me a line and I'll give you the grand tour of my hometown.
  16. What is fried Coke? Inquiring minds want to know.
  17. ^^supertropper, I remember Savannah Smiles also. I thought I was the only person in the world who remembers seeing that movie. How I cried my eyes out . Growing up in the 80's rocked for me. I had a great childhood. Star Wars and Transformers toys for me every Christmas. Star Wars ruled my world. I still have them on display. We had (and still have the unit and all the games) ColecoVision( remember that?) The fashion styles were a bit odd but worked for us at the time, wearing neon clothes and when rap started to become more main stream we all wore new yorkers(big fat shoe laces) in our sneakers just like Run DMC. The movies of that decade were good others were crap. And another cartoon that I loved was ThunderCats, I have the symbol that wore on their belt tattooed at the base of my neck. The 80's weren't a bad decade at all to grow up in. I enjoyed it.
  18. I love SpongeBob and Rock Bottom is the name of one of my fav episodes of SpongeBob!
  19. SeaWhippet, did you work on the piers or just know someone who did? I spent my childhood summers on the beaches of WildWood. I have a summer home located 5 minutes outside of North WildWood. Still go down there every weekend, even in the winter. I love it down there. It has changed so much though. Thanks for the old pics of WildWood. If you have any more please post them. Thanks!
  20. ^I remember you went forward and backwards but I can't remember how many times. I don't know if they were located anywhere else, I remember them in WildWood.
  21. You are correct in saying that is the crazy Canyon Trip ride on Morey's Pier in WildWood,NJ. That was a fun ride, although I was a little scared every time I rode it. The other Katapult coaster was located on Nickel's Midway Pier down at the other end other boardwalk where Castle Dracula used to be. Ahhh.... the memories of my youth. I used to love the Jumbo Jet. I used to the love the clackity sound it would make going up a hill. Those were the days.
