Haunted Mansion Refurb Dates

Good. It looked like they gave it a Six Flags maintenance budget. -
FOOD!!! at Universal Studios Hollywood
Jew replied to PirateTinkerbell's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
3 minutes. Inside the park you basically get the standard theme park fare: burgers, chicken strips, fries, hot dogs (dodger dogs!), etc. They have pizza hut personal pan pizzas and a limited panda express menu too. It gets the job done, but not much else. City Walk has pretty much any food option you could imagine, fast food or sit down. -
^^^As little sense as his post made, I think he had a valid point: After the McDonald's in the park closed, the park had no brand name food options. With so much stuff down the hill, and the option to leave the parking lot and come back, that probably did cost them some revenue. Was it that much? Probably not, but there's no doubt that having a well known chain in the park certainly helps sell more food (at an even higher price since it's a name brand!)

Memo to everyone: just because it is from Ryan and featured in a PTR doesn't mean it is cool.

Disney sues Anaheim over plan
Jew replied to sixflagsmagicmountain's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^I think it's safe to say that those "buffoons" played (and continue to play) a big role in the city of Orlando's growth, so just like with anything else, you take the good and the bad. Which sucks, but it is what it is. -
^The Epiphany is just an Ion with a different body. Get the Proto Matrix Rail if you're going to spend that much on a gun.

Do you like Rockin' Both Parks at Disneyland?
Jew replied to spacemtfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^To accurately re-create Rockin' California Screamin, follow these steps: 1. Take POV of Screamin' 2. Take the RHCP song. 3. Edit the RCHP song to match the music changes on the original soundtrack. Be sure to pay no attention to adding fades or anything that would make it a smooth transition. Just cut up the song and that's it. 4. Crank the levels all the way up so it's sure to be obnoxiously loud. That's all there is to it. And I'm sure a WDI guy probably spent 10 minutes in ProTools doing just that to create this new soundtrack. -
Disney sues Anaheim over plan

^It's Southern California. Land of the "or or two official occupants with 5 or 6 (usually illegal immigrant) extra people living in their apartment. Duh. -
Disney sues Anaheim over plan
Jew replied to sixflagsmagicmountain's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Just for comparisons sake, Wild Rivers is 20 acres. So there's plenty of room for a complete waterpark if that is the route disney choses to go. 26 acres would also be plenty of room for a gigantic indoor waterpark (maybe a waterpark/shopping center??) too... But anyways...Neighbors are never a good thing for a theme park. Disney has to protect its turf. The city specifically zoned the area around Disney as a "tourist zone" (or whatever they called it) to attract more upscale hotels/restaurants/shopping/etc., and this project would be counterproductive to that goal. -
Guns here. Pictures as soon as I get a battery charger that works for my camera. So far I'm impressed.

Cornholing coming to GL!
Jew replied to speedracer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is one step above Bocce. And that isn't saying too much. And by that, I mean it's not saying anything at all because this sounds just like a bean bag toss with retarded rules. But whatever. Does this count as another step on GL's road to closing? -
So while we are playing the jump to conclusions game...the article also says the tram might have run her over. How did the guy whose job it is in the back of tram to watch such things not notice? So Disney might be partially liable. But the fact of the matter is none of us know for sure what happened, if the person is going to sue, etc. So who am I to judge?

The Disney Cruise Line (DCL) Discussion Thread
Jew replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^^The ship we took our cruise on in November was 138,000K Tons. So it's big, but nothing groundbreaking. -
F*ck that game! We had to play it as part of our computer class in middle school...curse that organ you had to play a certain way to open the door to finish the game!

It might be long a long walk, but that doesn't mean it holds more people... Why not? It's not like I didn't used to work with the operations managers who had to deal with an upper management team at Time Warner who didn't support them... Riddler's queue is a mess. It's great that there is a longer line for the front row, but what about the rest of the people? The rows shrink in size, so there's nowhere for anyone else to go except to get logjammed at the top of the stairs looking for an open row (or having to cut through another rows line to get to the row they want). It allows more people to fit (since it leaves some open space), but it's a mess. All it does is hurt the capacity.
-
The problem with RRv is that they didn't put nearly enough queue in to begin with. Lots of wasted open space resulted in the need to design a station that could stuff a lot of people into a small space just to make it possible to hold 2 hours worth of queue (or whatever theoretical # they were shooting for). If they were serious about capacity, they'd add switchbacks to the outside queue so there is a place to put those people currently crammed into the station and then redesign the station to allow room to properly group. Hell, there's enough room to group two cars at a time (much like JP) and a single rider line if they really wanted too... The funny thing is you can't even blame this one of Six Flags. I believe that RRv was the last project under Time Warner, and by then they were in their "we don't care about the parks...we just want to sell them" phase.

I'm bumping this thread because some co-workers wanted to go play paintball last week. It was the first time I played in like 3 years (but I've still stayed current reading pbnation, still visit my local PB store, and checked out a few NPPL/PSP events.). I was shooting my old automag with gravity fed hopper (running on CO2), and realized two things: 1. my gun sucked and I didn't want to spend any money upgrading a dead platform; 2. I forgot how much fun paintball is! So I decided to upgrade: New black Proto Matrix Rail, new 68/4500 HPA tank, Halo B hopper w/ Z board. Pics to follow as soon as everything gets here. Tadao M7 board, Ultralite frame, Airport on/off ASA, new barrel, and Victory board for halo to follow after that. There's two paintball fields about 10 minutes from SFMM if anyone is down for a TPR game...
