  1. The problem with SFMM's business model is the majority of its guests are local. There is a large portion of guests who excuse all the things we notice because all they care about is the coasters, but we already saw what the problem can be from that: investing $10-20 mil/year on coasters and pushing cheap annual passes eventually catches up to the business. Speedy Gonzalez and the YOLO Sportsbar are smart ways to TRY and combat this, but ultimately all the little things still add up and drive business elsewhere.
  2. There are certainly rumors out there (that were actually addressed yesterday)…should be fun when it's officially announced!
  3. ^If you believe the rumors, that is exactly what they are doing!
  4. Here is the listing: http://discoverlivesteam.com/discoverforsale/forsale/1_riley2/index.htm
  5. He's a friend of Tim Burkhart, so I imagine that if he has the financial ability to purchase more stuff he is still doing so. I'll have to take The Old Road next time I visit the park and see if anything looks new.
  6. ^Exactly. They're shooting themselves in the foot!
  7. The bottom line is simple: they don't want to pay to print a limited run of 2014 maps to fill the gap until Spring Break. It's why SFMM is SFMM. Better than nothing.
  8. ^We learned from your mistakes... BTW Larry: http://deadspin.com/dominicas-fake-ski-team-scammed-the-olympics-and-the-p-1529973935
  9. Concept art rarely reflects the final product. I think it is safe to say it is clone of Gold Rush.
  10. I wonder how much stuff from Universal and Sea World/Busch will make its way over to this attraction? I definitely see all the character costumes and the donkey cart being part of this.
  11. Now you have to hear arguments about actual soccer with the world cup.
  12. A section of Revolution queue/the old main entrance (featured in the Vacation movie) is blocked off. There is also the old crazy barrels queue/ride platform behind a carnival game in Colossus County Fair. Deja Vu's overflow queue behind the Psyclone Bay buildings is still there too.
  13. Looks like it will be a lot of fun! The themeing for the ride is being done by R&R, which is the company that did SFMM's themeing back when SFMM actually tried to theme their rides (B:TR, RRv, S:TE, etc.)
  14. I hear that CMA festival might not be the only big music festival they host.
  15. Another benefit: no getting splashed when walking TO the park. I hated walking by when someone was going down the drop.
  16. You need to find a new hobby and/or sport.
  17. I would imagine that Medieval Times is smart and markets to all the local hotels...
  18. TPR will have an update as well! Luckily I don't actually care to ride anything when I am at SFMM...so I just enjoyed the fact they were woefully caught off guard by today. Not sure how they wouldn't be predicting a busy day, with a cheer competition AND free friend day...
  19. Actually, where the park is…it would depend on your definition of shorts and T-shirt weather! Temps in the 50-60 degree range.
  20. I don't know the significance of any of those facades for Harry Potter, but they look fantastic!
  21. ^I don't care what it looks like or what it is classified as so long as the ride kicks ass!
  22. Perhaps they are just I-beams? Definitely a HUGE upgrade if it were to be RMC track…I agree with you about the cost.
  23. ^Walk ups because everyone is eating! It amazes me how many people still think they are the only ones with a day off during busy times.
  24. HKDL isn't wholly owned by Disney, so the operation and business is different.
