Sue replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I couldn't resist. I just had to make the $30 donation to get Nick up to $3K. Way to go, Nick!!! Anyone kind enough to return a $30 donation to my page? It would be most appreciated! Sue -

Although it's not for me, our good friends and Dorney TPR teammates, Tim and Amanda Danner, could use some help reaching $75. They're currently both only at $5. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/timothy-danner/DorneyPark2013 http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/amanda-osborn-1/DorneyPark2013 -

Hey everyone! I have a bunch of extra 2013 park map brochures for Six Flags Great Adventure, Dorney, and Hershey (Springtime in the Park). In an effort to boost our fundraising, I will send 1 of each brochure to anyone who donates at least $5 to my page or Rich's page. Just make the donation and send me a PM with your address and the brochures will be on the way! http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/SueYekel/DorneyPark2013 http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/RichYekel/DorneyPark2013 Thanks! Unnecessary Queuing Lines
Sue replied to palmerleeberry's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kraken at Sea World Orlando gets my vote. I'm sure it might get used when the park is packed, but it's rather annoying to not have any shortcuts when it's not needed. Queues like that just encourage line jumping since you'll always have people jumping over the railings. -

Excellent idea, Scott! I agree that people probably think donating $1 is cheap and hopefully it will help to have $1 donations to show people it's OK. I'd much rather have people donate $1 than not donate at all! Rich and I are both on the Dorney team and have both made $1 donations to you. Sue -

Rather than donate to myself, one thing I like to do is keep an eye out for people who are willing to match donations to their page. That way GKTW is getting twice the donation! It has been frustrating so far, but I'm hoping it's the fact that the event is still months away. Think I'm going to lay off a bit and come back with a vengeance in May. Sue -

Team TPR at Dorney only needs $66.57 more to break the $2K mark. Anyone care to help us achieve that milestone? http://www.firstgiving.com/process/teamarea/default.asp?did=1785&teamid=224675 -

How much you ride is up to you. You can ride as much or as little as you're comfortable with. -

So glad the date finally works for us this year! My husband and I are both in for the Dorney Park team. It's our first time participating and we're looking forward to it! I'd love to be a part of it this year. Count me in, please! As for some of my likes (aside from the obvious parks and roller coasters): turtles, Disney stuff, Philadelphia Phillies, travel, eating out, hiking, and visiting National Parks. Favorite color is pink. As for sizes, I generally wear size M for t-shirts and size L for sweatshirts/hoodies. -

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It was running the usual awesome program on our trip in May, but this past Saturday it was much tamer than usual. In the past, it always started spinning fast at the top for a couple seconds before it started going down. On Saturday, it didn't get up to speed and started descending immediately. -

My husband and I rode both trains on Saturday. Personally, I didn't have a problem with either train. For my husband, he found train 2 (old one) very uncomfortable, but enjoyed his rides on train 1. They told us that the second train will be taken down for a couple days after the 4th of July to be retrofitted. For me, the biggest issue is the loading and unloading on the same side of the station. They were opening the gates before the station was clear and it was a total jam trying to exit as people were tying to load. -

Even though Dorney was quite deserted this past Sunday, Steel Force was running 3 trains. Guess they were practicing for this coming Sunday. -

We witnessed Fast Lane at Volcano on both Saturday and Sunday and it's a total disaster! As someone else mentioned, the back 2 rows were roped off for whatever reason already reducing capacity. Although Fast Lane users couldn't take the front, they were given free reign anywhere else. They let them in from the exit there and they were constantly filling the ENTIRE train with them (aside from the front and the 2 roped off rows). The already slow moving regular line was hardly moving at all. I certainly hope they figure out a better way to handle this at Volcano or they're going to have a lot of irate guests to deal with!
