  1. Has there ever been cases like this on other log rides? I don't see people suing Disneyland even though they could get more money out of them. Personally, I'm not buying the water level aspect. But I'm not an expert. On a secondary note, what are the chances major changes are made to this attraction in light of so many lawsuits? Maybe they could renovate Log Ride into a water coaster of sorts, aquatrax style. Keep the exact same layout and even the slow dark ride parts. Personally, I like Timber Mountain Log Ride and don't want to see it go. But I wouldn't be against an idea like this if they were forced to remove it. BTW, I am so stoked about HangTime. I was hoping for an Intamin but this is just as exciting. I'm just glad it's not a another shuttle coaster. I can't wait for 2020 when we make our next trip down to California. We'll have to make a stop at CGA too while we are at it. We very rarely hit two parks in one trip, but I think Railblazer more than justifies it.
  2. ^^ Most newer rides, you don't hear click click anymore. I don't think they still use the ratcheting system. But I admit I'm not an expert though. It was just my guess.
  3. I never realized just how short Patriot really is.
  4. Could be that the force of the ride was slowly bending the arm where it sheered off and with each swing it was weakened and bent more until finally it actually broke, so it could have been getting closer and closer to the ground. They weren't on the part that broke off. I heard the chick say that they section that broke off crashed into them.
  5. Nope, they know I'm watching. It's personal! Now where did I put the tin foil?
  6. Looks like they updated their website, I just took a look and didn't see it say closed. It is still listed as closed under "hours of operation" / "scheduled ride closures"...... Oh I see it...hmm maybe they need room for the new ride? Right, they are going to tear out one of their most popular rides. I know you're joking but it's not funny. Besides they have plenty of room already for a decent sized coaster.
  7. They're messing with us. First they dug a hole, then they filled it in and made a smooth grade. Then they dug a new hole in a different spot, then they filled that one in and are making another smooth grade. Urgh!!!!
  8. ^^ In that video they said they saw the ride get closer and closer to the ground with every swing. Either they were simply experiencing the terror of the ride as it was intended and are just mistaken, or the floor was indeed rising up.
  9. We will see. But I predict that Railblazer, wherever it goes, will be an RMC Raptor/T-Rex. And all the clues point to a trail themed ride at CGA ie trailblazer ie Railblazer.
  10. Freak accidents. Only two people were thrown form the ride. One from the broken gondola. The other when that man rammed into their restraints, breaking it. I believe it was one of those two was the person who died. Every other person in the broken gondola survived. A secondary seat belt likely would have likely saved their life. Being thrown from the ride is what killed them. This is exactly why I am willing to endure a few extra seconds for an "unneeded" procedure. Freak accidents.
  11. Again. The one at Knott's is based on a design from KMG but it's actually a Chance-Morgan. It looks identical to the KMG Revolution but it's designed to be a permanent installation, like Sol Spin.
  12. The separation clearly ripped hydraulics. That would cause the restraints to fail. One person falls from the broken seat section into another. Then a second person falls.
  13. It's made by another manufacturer (Chance Morgan) so probably not. The chance models are made by KMG I was under the impression that the ride is designed by KMG but that Chance bought the design and then changed it be a permanent version and built it themselves.
  14. What is interesting is that I have read that there are more stringent checks on mobile rides than on fixed rides. That carnivals have more oversight from the states than do parks. I'm going to go Google it. Perhaps. More likely, it's just another case of an eyewitness being unreliable. This happened in an instant, and was traumatic to see. The mind becomes overwhelmed in situations like this. It happens all the time. The account is too detailed to be a misunderstanding. It sounds thought out and made up. The person claims to know that the operator pushed the e-stop after seeing a person fall out. How would they know what the operator said or did unless they talked to them?
  15. The website doesn't say. But they aren't the same ride so I don't know.
  16. Right away I didn't believe the rumors that it hit the floor. Remember that the legs of riders are dangling beneath the ride. There would have broken legs, probably traumatic amputations in fact. Lots a blood and many more deaths. Also when the e-stop is activated on any flat ride the ride doesn't stop on a dime. There are no brakes on these rides. The motor act as the brake and it just slows down. On newer more advanced rides the program jumps straight to the end cycle and brings the ride to an end normally. On some older rides the power just cuts off and it coasts to a stop normally. But no ride ever just ENDS suddenly. All the e-stop does is end the ride cycle. Lastly if you go watch the youtube video and set the play back to 0.25 you can clearly see that no one is falling out of the ride until AFTER the crashing sound. So the eyewitness that said the operator pushed the e-stop is likely flat out lying. [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/cd8J7X3zHxY[/youtu_be] Also you can only hear the audio on normal playback but it appears as if the crashing sound is not the ride section coming off but rather it hitting the other ride section. The sound comes long after the section has come off.
  17. The people on the ground at the end, the girl and man, they came off the ride, correct? They weren't on the part that fell off. It looks like they taken off after it stopped.
  18. To the mods, if this post is inappropriate then please delete it. I was very careful not to show anything graphic. If it violates any rules it was honestly unintentional. If you slow down the You Tube video to 0.25, , you can see that an entire seat section comes off its arm mount. I posted a screenshot below of the video at the 0:04 seconds mark (this is not the graphic part). Slowing down the video also made it a little blurry so you can't see any gory details. You can see the mount for the seat section (red circle) and the seat section itself (yellow circle). Just one second before this and one second after are the really graphic parts and I was really careful not to get that part. You can see one person falling, from the separated seat section, then striking the seat section opposite, at which point another person falls from the ride. I assume that the force of what appears to be a 200 pound man striking the other seat section broke the restraint of the other person. It also appears that it was indeed the leading side of the pendulum that came off so maybe it did hit something. But that part is obscured in the video. Here is the screenshot
  19. So speculation without knowing anything about how a Raptor/TRex might possibly be operated (ie dual loading platform, many block brakes, etc.)? The capacity excuse is pretty flawed without any real information. It's hilarious that people are worried about Raptor/Trex capacity when the "more possible" rumor is a Euro-Fighter. Firstly, the renderings don't show any block brakes. Secondly, the rumor is an Infinity not Euro-fighter. The Infinity seats 16-24. Knott's has... - a Wild Mouse with 4 passenger cars - a shuttle loop - a Zamperla motorbike coaster with small 16 passenger trains - a spinning coaster with small 16 passenger trains - an Intamin accelerator coaster with 20 passenger trains that (up until recently) pretty much only ever ran 1 train - up until recently, a Vekoma Boomerang I see no indication that this park is in any way hesitant to buy low capacity coasters. You can't count any rides installed prior to 1998, so Monty and Boom are out. Also, a sixteen seat train is not low capacity coaster. The ability to only run one train makes it a low capacity ride. Pony, Coast and Sidewinder were installed to cater to the growing family crowd. That's all. Whatever replaces Boom is clearly not going to be a family ride.
  20. The Raptor has in-line seating. The tester had four cars with one seat per car. The renderings show four cars with two seats per car. That's a low capacity ride.
  21. ^ Knott's might be too busy a park for another low capacity ride like the Raptor. Though personally either way works for me because I take turns visiting both parks every couple years. Though if it does turn out to be a Fahrenheit type of Intamin I hope it's a giga. That would awesome.
  22. There are so many B&Ms that have been running year round longer than Hulk and Dragons have. I don't see why Hulk had to be retracked orvwhy Dragons can't live on somewhere else.
  23. So I think that the renewed relationship comment clearly refers to a company that Cedar Fair has worked with a lot over the years. But what if it really just means any company that CF has worked with in the past, even if it was only once? That opens up not just Gerstlauer but also Vekoma, Zamperla and Zierer. The possibilities are endless really. These next few weeks are going to drive me crazy.
  24. Hey get you own ideas Just kidding. BTW can you picture a 300 foot Fahrenheit? It would satisfy all the rumors. Vertical dive. Giga. Intamin. Dude, I think I just...
