Awesome update. And Joey's right, as cool as that video is, seeing it in person is WAY better. The theming and pre-show of this version of ToT is just amazing. If they could combine this with the FL ride, they would have the greatest attraction ever. Even so, it's still really cool. And that sea salt ice cream was really tasty. Looking forward to more pics... dt

S&S Sceamin' Squirrel
Meteornotes replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One of the worst rides I've ever been on. Hopefully they won't build any more. Painful, boring, and just not a good idea. dt -
^The first thing I thought of when looking at these pictures was the stuff you used to cook. It looked REALLY similar. And made me hungry! For those that have never experienced it, Elissa is an AWESOME cook! Chuck, those Grinders are awesome. Obviously, we have a lot of them here, but I'd totally recommend them anyway. I use that garlic and pepper one all the time. dt

Oh, this is all sorts of awesome: - Frank Zappa is excellent cooking music - McCormick spices are used (buy more, people!) - Angus McNasty makes an appearance. I see he has already claimed the tree as his own. This PTR rocks. Thanks for posting! dt

^Yeah, TDL or Disney Sea has NOTHING on that amazing display of theming! I will admit it was badass when the clouds parted and we could actually see Mt. Fuji for a couple of minutes. But I could have sat out in the parking lot in a rusty lawn chair and awaited that moment, and had equally if not more fun. Sorry if I'm really ragging on the place, but the majority of Japan parks are so much fun and so cool and FQ has potential, but the way it's operated totally kills it. I had fun because of who I was with, not because of the park. Ah well... dt

Off Season Withdraw Symptoms
Meteornotes replied to IwantRevenge's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I blast obnoxious music at bone-melting volumes and yell at the cat. OK, I do this every day. But it's still an off season activity... dt -

Mitch's Coaster Poll
Meteornotes replied to ScubaSteve442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Speaking of this poll, are you supposed to get some sort of email confimation about your ballot being received? If so, I haven't got one. dt -
Mitch's Coaster Poll
Meteornotes replied to ScubaSteve442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The fact that people are trying to rig this poll makes me sad. Doesn't surprise me, given the mindset of your average rabid enthusiass that only cares about ERT and free food, but it is still sad. I guess all the ballots and any results need to be hidden until after the poll closes to thwart these jackasses. A shame that some people cannot be honest... dt -
Mitch's Coaster Poll
Meteornotes replied to ScubaSteve442's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ballot sent! Balder is still #1 (no surprise). It was actually harder to do the bottom ten than the top ten! I've ridden some real crap over the years. Jupiter is the latest entry in the "never again" category. dt -
What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
Meteornotes replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
^A new branch of Iron Hill is cause to celebrate! We went to the one in Phoenixville four times when we were at RoSFest, and greatly enjoyed every visit. Lancaster isn't too far away, so we'll have to visit that one. That raspberry ale was one of the best beers I have ever had. They just need to open one of these in Baltimore... dt -
Suggestions for 500th coaster?
Meteornotes replied to texcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nothing says "milestone coaster" like a boomerang that they are welding back together minutes before they let you ride it! I never, ever plan out what coaster I'm going to end up on. Half the time, I don't even know what "number" a coaster is unless I sit down and try to figure it out. I'd just go out and visit some park that you haven't been to before. Seeing new places is always fun. Unless it's FujiQ... dt -
Fahrenheit Vs Behemoth
Meteornotes replied to coasterexpert's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This seems exceptionally pointless to me. There are already threads for both coasters, please use them to discuss these new attractions. Thanks. dt -
Trip Report: Year in Review
Meteornotes replied to spaceace12's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, gotta agree about using other people's footage without asking. That's not cool. And I'm not sure why you used it, exactly. You own a video camera and shot other stuff, right? Why not just use all your own footage? Maybe it's me, but when making a video, I always think you should try and put your personality into it as much as possible, so it stands out more. I think you can only really do that if you shoot and edit your own stuff. Work on your own stuff, and come up with something sort of personal so that it stands out and looks different that other folk's work. At least that's what I would do. dt -
Indiana Beach's 2008 Addition

^My exact thoughts. Screaming Squirrel SUCKED!!! And this looks like the same concept, so I have zero confidence that it will be any better. They could put a pile of broken glass there, and you'd have a better time crawling around in it than riding anything remotely like the SS. dt -
