I'm flying into Columbus airport on August 25th and then plan to drive to Kennywood and arrive for 5pm-ish. This will be my first time at Kennywood and I would really like some advices to make the most of it ! I know saturdays are really busy and I would like to get on everything ! From all the coasters to the unique flats and water rides ! Is it possible ? Oh and what should I eat at Kennywood ? I don't like liquid cheese so no potato patch for me ! Thanks you all for your advices !

Le monstre wooden rollercoaster have a tendency to have only one train on each track so hit them right at the opening or at the very end of the day, same thing applies to Le Dragon, an indoor rollercoaster near the bigwheel and the toboggan nordique has really slow ops too. Anything else has usually good capacity if they run two trains. Try Rolopan crepes near the back entrance of La Ronde...really good Have a blast !

Awesome PTR!! I love DCA too ! It really sucks that Knott's had these 3 majors rides down ! How come you waited 40 minutes for Jaguar ? I've never waited more than 5 minutes for it even on a saturday afternoon ! Montezooma's Revenge is the best Schwarzkopf shuttle I've experienced ! Great launch, it doesn't brake on the return and it there's some airtime and hangtime in it ! I really miss it !

This Thomas town looks much better than the one at Six Flags New England.

June 24th is our national day for us, Quebecois and we skipped the celebration to do some park trips in the US ! We first went to Old Orchard beach to get a tan and do some swimming but the temperature was in the low 60's... not a great day to swim in the Atlantic ocean. Palace Playland, a ghetto Santa Cruz boardwalk amusement park was next to the beach but 5.50$ to ride a Galaxi coaster, no thanks ! I guess I'm just not the credit whore I used to be ! Mike and I went to Funtown for the first time in the late afternoon (18$ admission). I was a nice pretty park with old rides and Excalibur was really fun. Here's the pics of Funtown / Splastown. My love for CCI rollercoasters keeps growing with Excalibur ! I just can't wait to be in the park and ride it ! The park has a nice entrance, I expected it to be a lot more ghetto-ish. Of course nobody was in the waterpark, it was so cold that day ! The Galaxi rollercoaster was so rusty and thanks god this car wasn't on the tracks ! Mmmmmm the cars are in pretty sorry state but I'll gladly risk my life for the credit! Suburb house theming The Excalibur station is nice and there was almost no line ! The rated#10 by AMUSEMENT BUSINESS banner is really funny !!! The ride was running really smoothly thanks to new retracking this year and the trees have grown and they are mostly adult size trees, it's almost a terrain forest coaster now The first part of the ride is fun, filled with airtime and great drops but the second part has no speed and just twist around and doesn't provide any airtime, speed, lateral or fun. I still give a 7.5/10 rate for this ride. I'm a CCI / Gravity group fanboy Mike doesn't like spinning flatrides so he decided to sleep while I ride. I'm happy, there's no line! The ride cycle was very long, more than 5 minutes. A great ride with great operations! The Log flume was really fun and you get wet if you sit on the first row ! I'm a log flume enthusiast Mike doesn't want to spray water on the family... I say GO FOR IT! Oh yeah we got them wet ! Our wet riders ! (the girl in yellow is like : WTF you morons!) It's an indoor scrambler but we skipped it... we are not fan of Scramblers! I miss the turkey titl-a-whirl at Holiday world! Picnic table covers ! I just found me a new favorite park !!! Me and the Photo spot sign The drop tower had a great drop but I was a little anxious to lose my feet ! (I know it's not an Intamin one but who knows it has cables too...) Six Flags New England ! We went to SFNE on sunday and we had a blast ! I'm glad we didn't go there one day earlier, the trip report from Derek looks really bad ! Crowds were not too bad ! Our longest wait was for Superman and it was about 40 minutes. Two trains operations with not much stacking! We rode Superman first at the opening, an about 15 minute wait for the front row. It was an awesome ride like usual filled with airtime and great positives G forces. I wanted to rent a Q-Bot when I saw the crowds wanting to get in but I'm short on cash so I'll wait in the regular lines ! I was glad later I didn't rent one ! Wow the ride operators have Superman red cape! They look great with it. Prepare to fly ! First train of the day riders! It was time to get wet ! Well we didn't get wet at all Pandemonium had slows dispatches like usual but it was the greatest ride we had on it, it just never stopped spinning! No wonder the Cyclone has empty seats... it never ran that bad ! Trims were on so hard I thought we would not make it ! Where is the agressive ride it once was ??? It was our first time on Catapult. Strangely, Mike loved it and I hated it ! Way too much intense ! I'm so glad Panda Express is not at Six Flags New England ! Tasty good food has finally arrived! So much food! We have enough for both of us! Great ambiance Mandatory trash cans shots ! and something you will never see at La Ronde, a clean park. I want to win the moldy Krusty! eurk... This park is looking so good ! I love streamline theming! Wiggles World has infected the place as well Second best thing after Superman Ride Of Steel I want one at home! I love the characters ! Time for some floorless goodness! Dispatches for Batman were so bad ! Half empty rows and stacking was the rule! Batman was so shaky and bumpy ! It was worse than Hydra! Time to ride Superman again! It was about a 40 minute wait..not too bad ! Half of the riders were flashpass riders ! It could have been a 20 minute wait without them. We had our best ride ever on Superman ! We had next to last row and the airtime was so strong ! I thought we were on Eltoro ! We left SFNE and went to Lake Compounce in the evening... I was our first time at Lake Compounce and I wanted to ride Boulderdash so badly ! Lake Compounce was nicely landscaped and operations were really great ! We will be back for sure ! Lake Compounce's entrance is really beautiful with the mountain setting. We went straight to Boulderdash ! Like I hoped, they were running two trains! This is my kind of line! We waited about 20 minutes for the first row and it was so worth it ! The lift hill into the woods is one of my favorite part of the ride ! It was smooth all the way and filled with ejector airtime ! I thought I was on the Voyage at some point... It has the speed, the trees, the smoothness and the airtime of the Voyage, the only thing missing is some tunnels! Downtime drop tower was fun, but I didn't get airtime on it. Thunder n' lighting entrance was nice, complete with an animatronic weatherman! Wow it's my new favorite flatride ! I had airtime, great speed and the mountain setting and the overview of the park was awesome! The cycle is somewhat too short! Time for Zoomerang! It's a credit after all... I don't remember being THAT happy at Zoomerang ! We rode Wildcat in the last row and it was Son of Beast bad ! I thought I was on a jackhammer all the ride and my ribs hurted a lot too ! It's really bad! A park with free soft drinks is a winner park to me ! The skyride is great. It's very long, about 20 minutes and it has awesome views ! There's at least 100 loose articles that fell on the ground... a lot of t-shirts and one underwear ! Too bad it was too dark and the pic was all blurry! We ended the last hour riding Boulderdash non-stop ! It was like having it's own ERT with no lines ! At 9pm, it was pitch dark ! We had the continuous two front-row last rides on the yellow train and it was so good ! I can't decide if it's my #1 or #2 wooden rollercoaster now ! Voyage or Boulderdash ??? It was that empty ! Unofficial ERT !!! We had a blast this weekend and we are planning to return to Lake Compounce for more night rides this fall for Halloween ! Thanks for viewing!

Yes there is over the shoulder harness on the simulators and they are very heavy, like if there was sand in them ! You must pay attention while riding because there's some headbanging too ! No, there's not even on-board audio and they don't go upside down... the restraints are totaly useless !

Unless you mean North America, La Ronde isn't in America I was gonna put that, but you beat me to it so I will just say that I always thought that Canada was a big suburb of America anyway. Well, isn't Canada, United States, Argentina, Mexico(north and south america in america...) What we are being taught at school : North and South America = America North America = United states and Canada MrMorgan : The track 2 is much better and faster than track 1, you are right. .Of course Le Monstre is a back seat ride... if you seat in the first row, you'll have no drop at all lol ! Yes they still smoke even if it's forbidden. I've never heard a warning from staff but security is non-existant... Yes they still have chairs, it's in their union contract !!

The train is really slow in the overbanked helix, you would think the train would fall on the left side or come to a complete stop in the helix. I had a little pop of airtime in the top of the third hill on the track 2, the faster side... The rollercoaster have almost no speed or airtime but it's really smooth at least.

I still cannot believe how much La Ronde is getting run down every year ! The park is so dirty, operations are really bad and the staff is so rude ! The new friendly, cleaner parks wave that hit all the Six Flags parks didn't reach La Ronde yet ! Wednesday, the first day of International fireworks shows was the worst day I ever had at La Ronde ! The parking lot wasn't even full, I can't think of what will happen this summer when the big crowds will be there ! We arrived at the park at around 7pm, after the Disney Art exhibit at the Beaux-Arts museum in downtown Montreal. We have Six Flags Great Adventure season passes so we went to exchange our passes for tickets because the passes don't scan at the turnstile. We were second at the guest relations outside the park and it took 30 minutes to get our tickets because the only employee working there was working at the guest relations for guests inside and outside the parks and didn't care for the guest outside ! The park was not really crowded. 20 minutes wait for Goliath for the back row. This is the only rollercoaster where operations are great, 2 trains and almost no stacking. Something really bad happened while waiting for Goliath in the station, the ride operator cursed after a guessed that didn't put his backpack in the loose articles bins and that without any warnings ! It so rude I still can't believe it. Well at least I had a great ride on Goliath, no trim at all and the airtime was massive ! Later at night, I got the greatest ride ever... this little hyper at night is magic ! The setting in the middle of the river and the lights of the skyscrapers in the city is so beautiful ! We went to Le Monstre, the wooden coaster. They were running 2 trains on each track, something you rarely see ! Well while we were in line they took out the 2 trains and it took 40 minutes and they didn't tell the guest in the previous trains that they would do that so the guest in the trains on the brakerun were there for 40 minutes ! So unprofessional ! At least, Le Monstre was running great... a little pop of airtime happened ! The track must have been really warm ! We couldn't ride the Boomerang, it hasn't open this year ! They are still testing it... There was one train operation at Le Vampire and the line barely didn't seems to move so we didn't ride it. At 8:30, most of the rides were closed for the fireworks so the lines got really bad for Goliath, Le Monstre, Le Supermanege and everthing else ! The fireworks were really great and we went to the Toboggan Nordique 5 minutes before the end of the fireworks and there was no line ! We got a magic ride with the grande finale of the fireworks while riding, the view was spectacular ! After this ride, we ran as fast as possible to get out of the park because most of the guests takes the bus ride to the subway station and you can easily wait 30 minutes for the busses if you don't rush out. This was like a stampede for the exit... I think this is the only park where there's a running of the bulls at the end of the day ! Enough talking... let's go on with the pictures ! The observation tower got a new paint job this year (I hate the new Pizza Pizza logo on it!) but the air conditionning is still broken since 1993 and the windows are greasy and in bad condition. La Ronde main entrance and the Man and his world fountain with working water this year ! The Pirate swingging boat ride was down The slingshot, the orbite and the vampire ! The only characthers in the park... well advertising characters/tam tam players. The Galopant, the new old ride they took out 5 years ago and they renovated it. Only families and kids under 12 can ride it. Goliath entrance, really nice by Six Flags standards. Superman ? This is supposed to be a cold soft drinks booth... never seen it used it for something else than trash cans. The odor coming from these was really awful, it's like this all the time. The cleaning staff must be blind and noseless. Only at La Ronde you can bring your lunch and throw it away when you realize that there are no microwaves provided and you suddenly realize that pizza pocket are not good, warm or not. Maybe you tried to throw away you pocket pizza in the trash can but the trash can was already vomitting itself. Let's count the trash on the ground on a 60 feet range... 5 Items Countless cigarettes butts. At least another 5 items At least another 6 items There must be at least 20 items... I can't keep the count... Well, welcome to Magic "trash" mountain circa 2005. Goliath station Beaver tails are good but Rolopan crepes are better ! Cedar Fair would not be so proud of that... The Ovni flatride is not at La Ronde anymore... but cheap ass circa 1995 racing simulators (extra cost) are there... "great move Marc Tremblay, new president of La Ronde" ... This stinks. Le Monstre blue train had the surprised of it's life that day... it was actually operating ! Le Supermanege..really smooth for it's age. Le Boomerang is down and didn't open yet this year ! There's no characters in the park to take pictures with them but plenty of closed rides signs! Flash pass center is now at the old souvenir shop. The new souvenir shop is nice, complete with Ikea lamps. La Ronde has a floorless B&M? The shirt has actually a sexual content... Translation: I like him strong I like him well built ... and takes me upside down (Well with the words in french on the t-shirt..it's much more sexual). I would like to see who's gonna buy that ! The Old west, no rides but there's a lot of food. La Pitoune (the chick in french) This employee is useless...(banana and cigarettes butts on the ground and the passed right by them) Oh my god ! People are still playing this game! Le Monstre Le Maelstrom is really popular and it's probably the best flat ride in the park !(how sad that is!) Le Galopant is really not popular... MMmmmmm Rolopan crepes ! It's the best treat in the park ! You can put everything you want in it ! I choose Nutelle, banana and english cream...mmmmmmmmmmmm Eggs and ham and salad ? I don't think so Mmmm Nutella, banana and english cream... I ended the day with Goliath at night, trimless, was the best ride I had on it ever !

A rumor's floating that Six Flags La Ronde is getting Justice League and Looney tunes in 2008 and major re-theming but no new rollercoasters.

You like the look of the Spirale ? I don't think the paint job is done yet... there's only orange paint where the word Canada used to be... there's even rumours that there will be a Pizza Pizza logo on it... but I doubt it ! I hope not !

That was such a beautiful weekend to go "rollercoasting !" First, Darien Lake theme park on saturday. They honored our six flags season passes, even the season parking pass from Great Adventure ! The season passes still scans at the turnstile !No changes from Six Flags ! The park was lightly crowded. Almost every ride was a walk-on. Sadly, no Predator or Boomerang credit for me. Boomerang was supposed to open but was still closed when we left at 4pm. Predator is still in retracking and won't be open for at least two weeks. Superman, oh I mean Ride of steel, opened only at 3pm with only one train operation. Where was the other train ? It was nowhere to be seen ! The transfer track was empty ! Now, the pictures... I was very excited to ride Ride of Steel (what a stupid name without Superman...), I really liked his clone at SFA. Mmm... oh no ! Predator is closed! No credit for me ! Strangely, this park looks Cedarfair-ish more than SixFlags-ish. Almost everything still has Six Flags reference.. (euh it's Magic Mountain...) Official property of Six Flags ? LOL! Mmmmmm they looks so tasty ! 3 bucks each..not bad at all. Opening "show" Sorry guys our mechanics had all winter to make it work but they started to work on the ride only today no Ride of steel for you ! Mike and I on the Ranger The kiddie coaster operator wouldn't let me ride it ! The second best ride of the park after Ride of Steel, the log flume ! Fast and we didn't get too wet. *This is an acceptable amount of wetness* The park was pretty dead in the morning Crazy people in a boat splash ride when it's not even 63degrees outside!But that's not the craziest thing yet... Mandatory shot with the Shark.. This is the craziest thing ever ! Those waterslides were open ! About 5 people went on it that day... they must be sick at home right now. Please God, open it ! I don't want to pay 35$ bucks to enter this park next year to get my Ride of Steel credit ! Keepin' the beat show.. It was actually good ! And the main singer was so cute ... This could be seen at Ride of Steel, Predator and Boomerang No VeComa for me that day The Big Wheel As you can see, the park was really dead Viper wasn't so bad, I liked the tunneled helix at the end. Ride of Steel shot OH MY GOD ! Ride of Steel began testing at 2:30 pm ! ...and 5 minutes later all the park was in line waiting for it to open. The crew wasn't so bad... if only there was two trains ! The other train is no even on the transfer track ! Bye Bye Darien Lake... I don't think I'll be back unless you have an Intamin wooden coming soon... Because I live in Montreal and there is no Panda Express in less than a 6 hour drive, I was so happy to get my Mandarin chicken fix at the Niagara Falls outlet on our way to Toronto. I hope La Ronde and Great Escape will have Panda Express next year... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Me with a sunburn eating Panda Express goodness... Our room at the Missausauga Four points Hotel... Loved it ! Here we are at Canada's Wonderland on sunday at 9am ! The park entrance is really ugly ! The park deserves better! Canada's Wonderland was not too crowded, we rode everything by 1:30pm. Most coasters were running all their trains except Sky Rider that was closed, maybe it was related to the accident in Japan... (It's a Togo Stand-Up). The season pass processing opened at 9:15...10min later we were in the park. Two red lobsters Wow... this is beautiful ! For some reason, we got stamps and ride operators were checking if we had them... I still don't know why. Most people were running towards Top Gun when the park opened. This must be the only park on earth where a SLC get such loves ! Mike and I preferred to go ride Italian Job ! This is a way better coaster ! I don't know if it's because of Cedar fair buyout but no fire or explosions effects that day ! I totally blacked out on the helix after the launch ! Pet a fish... really disgusting The new Coasters restaurant, it's great looking Great flatride! Doh ! Cedar Fair forgot to change one trash can... Cliffhanger was great... but wasn't it running a tamer cycle than last year ? Paramount still hasn't be replaced by Cedar Fair story or whatever... Vortex is the best ride of the park by far ! Rode it in front row and last row ! Too bad the ride isn't long enough! Stupid added seatbelts ! It slowed down the operations a lot. They were stacking the trains a lot. Take that Darien Lake! Wild beast had great airtimes but was too rough ! Mighty Canadian was running really great ! Second generation Intamin Freefalls are the best ! We had a great time at Canada's Wonderland, we will be back this fall for sure! After a 5 hour drive, we are back to Montreal and La Ronde is still closed ! It it was open, it would be making tons of cash, it was summer weather in Montreal !
