Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
DRWP2005 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
One of my favorites from work: (At night as the last guests are leaving, and we're throwing in the automatic pool vac in the 500,000 Gallon Wave Pool) A Dad says to his son, "See they drain the pool every night with that, and fill it up by the morning" -
If you plan on editing your footage after you shoot, I would not get one that burns on Cd's or DVD's. They video when its compressed on the media uses codec's that are camera brand specific, therefore you would probably have to buy extra programs just to upload the video. I would also recommend getting one that uses the mini DV tapes, as mentioned you can get about an hour of footage per tape. As far as brands, I would recommed either a Sony or a Cannon, I'm a big fan of the Cannon GL2 but thats not something you'd take on coasters with you, its a professional camera, they actually use that model to film some TV shows.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DRWP2005 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think that the WWL site will be for another water ride, and this new area that they showed today will be for a new coaster. It should be interesting to see how this all ends up. -
I volunteered for the US Open (One of golf's 4 Majors) when it was at Olympia Fields in 2003. I had a good time, although I wish I didn't get stuck in the merchandise tent. But for the week I had to work at least 4, 5 hours shift so it wasn't too bad.

Blueprints?? Of what ride? I've been trying to get a set of roller coaster blueprints for years now!

Thats interesting, although I find it odd that its hosted by Amazon, when you click it, it takes you to Amazon.com for the information.

Based on what they showed from this weeks preview, I'm pretty sure that he died. Not only did they show Ryan's empty hand, but most of the dialogue from next week leads me to believe that he's dead.

^Wow thats a really awesome picture I really like it a lot

Adobe Premier is a good progam that is easy to use, and I have used it extensively, but personally I prefer Final Cut Pro. I think its even easier then Adobe to use, but then again as already mentioned you have to have an Apple Comp to have Final Cut Pro.

Cedar Fair's "Maverick"
DRWP2005 replied to MJHammer1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
If you guys read Cedar Point's Blog for today they mention but tell readers not to "look to far into it" Therefore I don't think its for the Point, because if they really wanted to create a buzz, they would have said something like "It might be...but it might not be" You have to remember that Cedar Point isn't the only park that Cedar Fair owns.... -
MFI 2006 - Cannon Bowl
DRWP2005 replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The bodyslide ones are more fun, but are a nightmare for parks as far as safety goes because, you never know how the rider will exit the bowl, head first, sideways etc... This makes the rider prone to more injuries, which is why many parks don't really build them anymore. The CannonBowl slides are fun, hopefully ProSlide fixed all the problems that we had with our two new one's last year. (Which were the worlds first dueling CannonBowl ride...just a useless fact) The problem that ProSlide still doesn't have fixed on our's is if you notice and look at all the ones they have built, the exit chute relative to the entrance chute is different each year. They are still trying to figure out the best position for it relative to the entrance. And last years version that SFGAM and we got didn't really work out as we both had the same problem with riders in the bowl. -
Hi, I have a simiple request...I love making rides in 3D using 3D Studio Max, and I currently want to start on a Log Flume of some sort. But I've tried looking at numerous photo sites, and I can't find a decent picture of Log Flume. So I was wondering if anyone here has any good photos, that I can use as a reference when modeling? Thanks

Ok I said I'd post a picture of the ice rink, and this is the best I have without having to take my new camera to work again. The rink is 14,000 square feet, and according to the company that made the dasher boards, its the only rink they've ever seen without any straight sections. Ice Rink

Yea this weather has just been crazy. But it's made work interesting to say the least. My waterpark has an outdoor ice rink, and one day it will be a lake, and the next frozen solid its crazy, I'll try and get a pic of one of these days...

I've actually known about this going in for awhile there. Six Flags got a package deal on them from ProSlide, and this isn't the last one being built as part of that package. I've never been on one, but talking to the people from ProSlide all they do is praise this ride, and they really consider it one of thier best attractions. I'm sure the water level could be adjusted to a level were it wouldn't hurt so much, and still be safe for all the riders, but most parks don't like to do that because ProSlide sends out a guy to commission the slide, and he sets all the settings for water flow to what he feels are the right settings. It's actually a really fun process to watch and be a part of.

H2o Zone just gets growing vertical
DRWP2005 replied to rabid disney's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Those look like really neat slides...although I think they should have gone with some different colors. Who is building those slides? By the looks of it I don't think their ProSlide. -
The Norton products haev been good for me in the past, but this was the first time I installed Norton GoBack, and it was nothing but a pain, like I said it would make my hard drive constantly write stuff. Norton GoBack made me want to go back to the way my pc was before I installed that program.
-
Well Uninstalling it worked, but it took 3 hours to uninstall, and I wasn't very happy with that, but I'm glad its fixed now.

Hi everyone, Ok heres the situation...The other day I installed Norton System Works 2006 and ever since I installed it...like I could constantly hear my hard drive working and doing something. It got to the point where it was driving me crazy today, so I decided to uninstall Norton GoBack, one of the programs that comes with SystemWorks. The reason I decided to uninstall it is because on my downstairs computer we installed every SystemWorks Program except GoBack and it seems fine. Right now its currently uninstalling but its taking forever its only like 20% done after somewhere between 30-40 minutes...does anything think this will solve my problem or what else can I do? Thanks

I was stupid enough to take my little brother to Best Buy to try and get him the desktop, and I got their at 2:30...they opened at 5 and the line was like already over 300 people long. Needless to say, I didn't get the computer, but found out that the people in the front of the line had camped out over night, and got at the store at 7 PM Thanksgiving day, and slept in tents on the concrete. It was about 15 degrees when I got there at 2:30 so I have no idea how could it possibly could have been in the middle of the night like that...Plus it was extremenly wind which didn't help the matter. Some people are just crazy...
