  1. Wow! This ride looks absolutely amazing! If only I had the money for an overseas trip...
  2. Wolverine Wildcat at Michigan's Adventure. Zero airtime. It's also would make expansion of the park much easier. It's in the way of what appears to be the eventual plans to connect the 'loop' around the pond in the middle of the park.
  3. It's interesting looking at the size of the foundation for Windseeker compared to the one at Cedar Point. High water tables make life difficult.
  4. Considering the fact that it went down a small pipe, timing the drop wouldn't be very accurate at all. Every time the coin would hit the wall of the pipe, significant deceleration would occur, meaning it would seem like the coin fell a greater distance than it actually did if you were to calculate using a basic kinematic equation. Just a thought
  5. What's with the extra parts on some of the supports? It looks like they're there to attach a catwalk or something. Anyone have any idea what their purpose is?
  6. That's really a shame for Six Flags. Actually posting a profit, and still having to deal with this. After all the company has gone through over the years, this seems rather cruel.
  7. FYI...for those who want to know... This is more of a running joke arguement we've had for a while. We really do want to know the real answer. I figured there's no better place than here to find out.
  8. Funny thing... Over the last four months, my girlfriend and I have been having this debate involving Space Mountain at The Magic Kingdom. After the ride, when you are riding up the moving floor, there used to be a recording of a guy saying "In the future, messages will be sent ________ beams of light!" Our debate is... I think he says "through beams of light." She thinks it's "on beams of light." Over the holidays, we were in Orlando and rode Space Mountain. We thought our great debate would finally be settled. Wrong! The recording is no longer played. Please vote in the poll. We're betting $50 on it. PLEASE BE HONEST Also, if anyone happens to have a recording to prove who's correct, that would be amazing!
  9. These trains look amazing. I can't wait to see a video of one of these in action. I'm confident they'll be great. Random Note: I just listened to their second poscast and I can brag that my question I sent to the mailbag was the first to ever be answered on gravitycast....aka, I'm Alex from Michigan. I feel special
  10. Can someone explain to me how purple fits in with the Superman theme? Blue and red actually fit the theme of the ride... If it fits a theme, who cares if it's red? This makes me think of Mr. Freeze. Since when is ice dark blue and red? The original colors fit the ride. The new ones don't. Medusa......there aren't any colors that fit a Medusa theme. They can paint it whatever they want and nobody will think twice.
  11. Conneaut Lake has/had one. It had been SBNO for years even when the park was open.
  12. Why is that portion of one turn also painted yellow? ...or is it just cuz of the angle?
  13. Top Thrill Dragster is a one trick pony. It's a blast, but only for a short amount of time. Maverick has launches, inversions, and other amazing elements. In terms of reridability, Maverick easily takes the cake.
  14. I hate white castle. I think they would be a lot better if they didn't steam them. They're just too soggy.
  15. Here's the deal about Mean Streak, from what I know. When Mean Streak opened, there was little or no trimming, non on the first drop. After a while, the ride basically began to tear itself apart. It is a huge ride, and wood is only so strong. The ride requires a huge amount of daily maintenance. Unfortunately, Cedar Point believes it isn't cost-effective to spend so much money maintaining the ride while operating it the way it was meant to be. Instead, they trim down the ride on the first drop and to a near halt at the MCBR. All airtime hills are no more. The first time I rode Mean Streak (2004 I believe), I loved it. Every ride since has been a disappointment. Once you get used to the big drops, the ride really loses its thrill due to lack of airtime.
  16. 1. What do you find most useful about the front page? It displays all of the recent updates. 2. What do you find least useful about the front page? The three divided sections for different types of updates. 3. Is anything on the front page confusing? The three divided sections 4. How far do you scroll down the front page looking for updates? None 5. How often do you look at the front page? Daily 6. How often do you click on the "whatsnew" link? Never 7. What would you like to see added to the front page to make your visits to TPR better? A single area for updates. 8. Anything else you would like to mention? Like any thing else you would like to see us add/change/leave alone/etc? I'd like to see the homepage a little more simple. There's too much going on at once.
  17. This really makes me sad. It really does make sense though. I've always thought the layout of that park alone made it a hassle. It's such a long distance between the water park and the amusement park. Those little shuttles just weren't enough. If they could have simply had the water park and amusement park on the same side, it would have been interesting to see the outcome. Unfortunately, that wasn't really possible the way the park's property was shaped. That leads me to another idea... what if they had take out everything around x-flight and that side of the park and converted that into water park along with the older water park area. It would have been interesting. I think we can also confirm now that Geauga Lake as an amusement park was reliant on Sea World for business. I can't wait to see where they send all of Geauga's rides to. Not just the coasters, but other ones. I could see a new kiddie section being build in another CF park. Some smaller parks will get some nice "new" flats. Oh, and that leads me to my last comment... GL had better have some major expansion plans for next year. Yea, the water park was packed last year. Take the people who were on the rides side and throw them into the mix. Things will be insane. That park needs more raft slides. A bohemoth bowl and some tradiitonal family raft ride would work well. A watercoaster would be fun too.
  18. I almost completely agree with you. I've never liked the last little turn into the brake run after the helix. I think they could have added just a little more track to make that transition more comfortable.
  19. Hahaha, you're hilarious! Never heard that one before. How original.
  20. This monday, I plan on taking a day trip across the state to Michigan's adventure with my girlfriend. MIA is a theme/water park combo park for those who don't know. What I would like to know is the best way to go about visiting one of these parks. Is it a smart idea to get to the water park the second it opens, or will it empty out the last few hours it is open? If someone could tell me the best way to go about visiting one of theme parks that would be amazing.
  21. Thanks. If anyone has more specific details as to the problems that do occur with running RCT2 on Vista, that would be great.
  22. Does anyone know if RCT2 will work properly on Vista?
  23. Local Park: Cedar Point (Even though it's 2.5 hours away). Detroit needs its own park!
