Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is a live stream being offered right here via someone's iPhone: http://ustre.am/9g4g Jason Garcia of the Orlando Sentinel has reported live via his Twitter that Merlin will receive a $5 million incentive for investing in the site, and the state will help to provide "road improvements" for the surrounding area. He has also reported saying that this will be the largest Legoland, and will open by the end of 2011. We'll have the official news online as soon as the official press release and press reports are posted to the web. -
Legoland Florida Discussion Thread
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I've been thinking about that same figure... The easy expenses that I can foresee include the conversion of Splash Island into one of those newer Legoland water parks (like the one California is soon to open), the addition of the Lego models of the world landmarks throughout the gardens, plus the addition of some well themed flats, and maybe a Technic coaster. I can't imagine based on that quote that the park will include any of the more major additions that Legoland has received over the past five years. In my mind, a Legoland is better than none at all, but that being said, I hope that the reworking can rid the park of the "concrete fair" feel and bring in that excitement and fun that I see bleeding from every crevice in all of the other parks. -

Club TPR Membership Card - VOTING!!!
jedimaster1227 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would actually love to see a combination made between the three I chose, but I'm guessing that unfortunately, (based on Robb's above explanation) the Donkey wouldn't make the cut. I voted for n7's card because I find that it has the best overall look for a membership card. I voted for J man's because of his use of a well-known TPR "icon" of sorts. My final vote was for jds03's card, purely because I think his logo is the best one I've seen in this contest out of them all. -
Disney's largest resort property not tied to a theme park finally has a name! More details continue to trickle in as we get closer to 2011, including the opening of a new resort preview website found here: http://thedailydisney.com/blog/2010/01/disney-names-hawaiian-resort-aulani/ The official Disney Parks Blog has also released an update with some more information regarding the new resort: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/01/aloha-aulani-disneys-new-destination-resort-in-hawaii/ I've also added some screen captures from the new Disney Aulani website including some concept art and construction photos of the new resort.

After much quiet, Universal has finally released some news regarding their South Korea project. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business ... 8270.story It is definitely good to hear that Korea's Studios is still an active project, considering the silence surrounding the project. After seeing the incredible amount of quality and detail put into the Singapore resort, I'm definitely excited to see Korea's resort built from the ground up. It is very interesting to see the leaders of Lotte get involved; something which I think will only benefit the resort, especially in its first few years of operation.

"Paging Barry Hom... Mr. Barry Hom. Your show's revival has arrived!" In all seriousness, thanks for sharing this with us Erik! I never got to see The Making of Me during my visits to the Wonders of Life pavilion, so this is an interesting experience for me. That being said, I still prefer Martin Short when in Canada.
