  1. Hi, Everyone! I've been working on my own "re-imagining" of Disney's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror attractions for RCT3. My version is a vertical drop coaster shoe-horned into The Hollywood Tower Hotel. Think of an inversionless SheiKra as a darkride. I think it would be awesome. Well, here is a short teaser video to whet your appetites: stream here: media.putfile.com/The-Twilight-Zone-Tower-of-Terror--Escape-from-the-Fifth-Dimension-Trailer or download here: www.megaupload.com/?d=1SOIGVES Final video: www.snowwerx.com/movies.html and here: www.putmeonthenet.net/friends.htm and here are some screenshots of what I've done so far: I still need to do the entire building exterior...right now it is just a shell: I'll post updates here as I add stuff. -Derek
  2. Anybody seen that Franco Dragone Cirque type show at the Wynn Las Vegas casino called Le Reve???? It's like "O" on steroids! It looks amazing! Here's a Youtube video of it I found: www.youtube.com/watch?v=45SW5LdYGZ0 -Derek
  3. I LOVE Cirque du Soleil! I was just reading on the Wikipedia article about Cirque du Soleil that they might build a Cirque themepark in Spain. Anybody heard anything about that? -Derek
  4. Where did that "forest" come from in the computer images? Fiesta Texas has hardly any trees...certainly not a forest like that. I like spinning coasters though...should be fun...I was just hoping for a Texas Cyclone tribute/recreation of some sort on that real estate...oh well... -Derek
  5. Mine was many years ago on an Intamin Looping Starship. My girlfriend and I got on a row where our two seats were the only ones that were not roped off with caution tape. And midway through the ride while we were completely upside down ALL of the other lapbars but ours on our row popped completely open! I'd hate to have been in one of those seats when it happened for the first time.... -Derek
  6. Thanks everyone! Yeah...I know the ride was too long...I got kinda carried away. I never made a Revenge of the Mummy ride though...that site hosting my video is Jmainaz' site, not mine. Most of the videos on that site are his. Only three of them are mine. -Derek
  7. Thanks everyone!!! Sorry I got you grounded Eurotre!!! That warning was really just so nobody would sue me if they had a heart attack watching it or something. Show this to your Mom and tell her it was really just because I thought it was scary and didn't want really little kids watching it because it would give them nightmares. No bad language or sex in it...it isn't like a REAL horror movie where everybody takes off all their clothes before they go down into the basement to check the circuit breaker when the lights go out... Glad you all liked it. I spent about a month making the drawings and making the ride and I guess about a week of evenings editing the final video. I had lots of fun writing the story but honestly it was really just something I challenged myself to do...I've never written a horror story before. I'm starting to plan out my next couple of projects. I hope to have the first one out for Halloween. -Derek
  8. Thanks! That effect is acheived by using the "track intersect track" options file cheat. The coaster track is intersecting the clown head funhouse ride. -Derek
  9. Awww man...you are only the 2nd person to complain about the floating camera effect. I usually do not use it in my videos, but for this one I chose to use it because it added a cool disorienting effect to the ride I thought. Plus if you pull back a bit on the steel wild mouse, the headlight glow shows up...plus you miss some of the scenery on the sides that way...so I opted for the floating effect. Most folks liked that part. Oh well... Thanks for the compliments everyone! -Derek
  10. wimp! Ha ha... Try the whole video... Several of the custom billboards are my own drawings... -Derek
  11. Hello everyone! I posted this ride (screens, back story, and videos) over at the Atari site and it was a huge hit. (It quickly broke the record for number of replies in the Tracks forum). I wanted to share it with you hardcore ride fans here at Theme Park Review. The story revolves around a misunderstood child raised in a circus by his ringmaster father and fortune teller mother. The father was very cruel and through some supernatural phenomena and some pent-up rage, the boy transformed into the mysterious Mr. Enigma, an evil supernatural (and cannibalistic) clown bent on revenge on all those who called him a freak when he was a child. He now holds them prisoner in his dark and twisted circus. Occasionally on a stormy night, sinister laughter can be heard in the woods...and when he's hungry, his circus will find you... The full back story and ride video are available here: www.putmeonthenet.net/cirque.htm The streaming video link is at the top and the story is below that. (Thanks to Jmainaz for hosting the streaming video!) Or you can download the full video file from here: http://rapidshare.de/files/31640470/CirquePhantasmagoriehifi.wmv.html or http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2I2BZ5II Behold: Here are a few teaser screens: Try the video! You'll die laughing... -Derek
  12. they could paint Top Gun canary yellow and rename it "Woodstock: Flight of Fear". heh.
  13. Okay...question...how do you pronounce "Rehoboth"? Is it "REE-ho-both"? Or "re-HO-buth"? I've heard it both ways... -Derek
  14. I miss my Dungeon Drop... Looks nice in the new colors though. -Derek
  15. Well...it was my favorite wooden coaster...especially during its last two years. It ran smoother during the past few years...much smoother than Texas Giant or Rattler. It had AWESOME headchoppers everywhere, amazing airtime on every drop, awesome laterals, and it was beautiful to look at...what a profile it had. I agree with Mike Robinson...this was a great coaster...it will be missed dearly. My wife and I were in tears yesterday when we found out it was gone. She got some pictures of it last week because she works across the street from the park next to the stadium. Its been tough for her having to drive by the park each day seeing it get demolished more and more each day. -Derek
  16. I am very sad. It was my favorite wooden coaster. -Derek
  17. I won a drawing to ride the last public ride on the Texas Cyclone. That's me in the 2nd seat of the first car on the far side...white shirt. Boy that was a sad day... 18. Brilliant...simply brilliant! BRAVO!!! I looked at all your ride illustrations...you have a great portfolio there! You should definitely do this for a career...because I'd love to ride this ride!!! I can't wait to see what you come up with next! -Derek
  19. Hey Cerberus! Any chance you can re-post the pictures? The "bandwidth has been exceeded" now for several days but I'd love to see your ride! -Derek
  20. It's THRILLCAT!!! OH MY!!! Not me...but kinda funny...
  21. My diabolical plan is WORKING! Soon I will take over the whole world!!! BWA HA HA HA! Just kidding...Gosh...I didn't mean for my comments to spark such a heated discussion. I just like good themed rides and love Disney rides in particular. It would be cool to design them as a career and then we could make them however we want them. I guess we'll just have to settle for Roller Coaster Tycoon for now. -Derek
  22. Well, forgive me for seeming too negative about it. I didn't mean to do that. I was mostly just talking about some of the things I had read and was wondering if it was really as bad as some people were making it out to be. I agree that it looks like a great ride. But like someone mentioned...it doesn't quite seem as immersive and seamless as say Indy or BTMR or TZ:TOT. Maybe we were expecting too much though? I don't know. Perhaps it isn't fair to compare this ride to the really really great rides. I was hoping for more though. In my opinion (based on the photos and videos) the ride seems kinda unfinished. I expected more of an exciting ending too. Perhaps some more twists and drops in dark tunnels with mere glimpses of the Yeti before the big face-to-face encounter, and maybe a big surprise drop right when you finally see him or something. I'm hoping that they will come back later and at least add rocky tunnels around the helix. I also found this animated layout of EE a few days ago. http://www.wdwmagic.com/animations.htm Click on the part that says "Expedition Everest - View Animation" It is really cool! (Forgive me if it is old news) -Derek
