^ Thank you. That is why I pointed out the Flyers/Inverted coasters. Yes all coasters have catwalks, that's NOT what I was referring to. The lift hills of these coasters have evac systems, which you stated no ride should have. Guess we are supposed to leave people stranded. People tend to forget that these things are mechanical and just like anything mechanical they can break down. That's like saying your car should never have any issues, get any flat tires or ever need a tune up. it's just not going to happen.

Good Eating Outside of Theme Parks

Totally agreed about all 3 of these. On most of my trips to SFMM I'll stop at Jimmy Dean's on my way home and at least get some fries. Oggi's is also pretty freaking awesome. Good call!! -
I think so Wes, but I couldn't tell how much of the actual loop/tophat track was on-site. There was a bit more than that, I'll see if I got a picture of the rest. EDIT: I think this was all the track that was still on site. Not much "Top Hat" track from what I can tell. Not sure how far up the loop the "top" part begins but it's more than those 2 pieces that are there I'm sure.

Great thread Chuck! SFMM: Lazy Dog Cafe (located at the Valencia Mall) http://www.lazydogrestaurants.com/ Familia Diaz (not really located close to SFMM, but if you happen to be making your way to/from SFMM to Ventura it's absolutely worth a stop). http://www.familiadiazrestaurant.com/ Disneyland: Fire and Ice (located at the Gardenwalk) http://www.fire-ice.com/ Slaters 50/50 (two locations one in Anaheim Hills and Huntington Beach) https://slaters5050.com/ USH: Poquito Mas (located on Cahuenga) http://www.poquitomas.com/ Miceli's (located across the street from Poquito Mas) http://www.micelisrestaurant.com/ -
Full Throttle Update for March 25. Since Robb is off on the TPR Trip Down Under (the US) I told him I'd take care of this weeks update. I'll try and be mildly entertaining. And here we all thought SFMM was getting a Full Throttle, in fact they are getting a Vekoma Flyer to replace the remaining flat rides at the park. The ride will be themed to Aquaman's 2nd cousin Mono Lake Dude. Standing on top of the flyers loop we can see the coaster formally known as Full Throttle. Flying off the track at this angle sure would have been fun. Apparently this part of Full Throttle was going to pull 3.14159265359 G's. Mono Lake Dude would like this part. Hopefully Coke Freestyle will still be available here in all your favorite Mono Lake Dude flavors. Station or something. Bonzai!!! It's like the Top Hat track is mounting the loop track. Kinky Coaster? YOLO Overview. This is where one of the two trains will live 51 1/2 weeks out of the year. YOLO Flyover. Seriously, the track is pretty low here. Best case scenario is the blue fence moving on the other side of the support. Worst case scenario, nets on the bottom of the track. Holy Twist Mono Lake Dude! YOLO Zoooooom!!! This will look pretty awesome once the construction equipment is gone. Heading into the "Top" hat. YOLO Tower! Swoosh the ride? Tunnel Vision Charlie Brown would be proud. Black is so thinning. More erections near the station. After Loop Into Top hat Double the pleasure There is a sign telling you what bus to take all the way over there. See If you are like 93.2% of other people you will walk to the old pick-up area before seeing this sign.

I don't think so really. I mean, there are other "forceless" coasters from other manufacturers that are pretty highly regarded. CA Screamin' comes to mind. I think with B&M, especially when it comes to the hypers I think the common thing with them is there is no reason for their forcelessness. Trims going up, repeated "floater" airtime, etc. I happen to like most of the B&M Hypers I've ridden but they can get kind of boring. Still, I'd trade any of the ones I've ridden for Goliath (SFMM).

Went to the Kings game on Saturday. Had a great time despite the loss and shutout. -
I don't go to SFMM on weekdays since I live two hours away, but for the season pass processing line, I wouldn't worry about it. The pass processing line usually doesn't go over 20 minutes in wait at this time of year. I didn't get to the park until about 4:30 yesterday and the season pass line was still looking to be about 45 minutes long. I'm sure it was worse in the morning.

My biggest concern would be parks turning an otherwise amazing layout (Ghostrider or even Roar comes to mind) and instead of just doing the topper track they do the complete makeover like NTAG or IRAT. There is nothing wrong with the layouts of most of these coasters and I'd hate to lose the "traditional wooden coaster" in order to make them all more like steel coasters.

As seen in the SFMM thread.
